Chapter 10 The Ancient Family Attacks

10. The Ko Family Attacks

"Okay," He Chen replied simply, and then quickly finished the noodles with Sister Lan!

After another hour of fussing, I closed my eyes and fell asleep from exhaustion.

A moment of blissful bliss is worth a thousand pieces of gold; when life is good, one should enjoy it to the fullest, for who cares about tomorrow's troubles!

The next morning, at Jin Xiong's house, he looked at his two young nephews, who were still quite young and yet looked exhausted.

He said fiercely, "Jin Luo, Jin Feng, the day you step out of this house, you are Shen Ge'er's men. Do whatever I tell you to do, don't say a word, don't ask any questions. Your fate is in your own hands. If you want to back out now, it's not too late!"

Thank you, Father!

"Thank you, Uncle!" The two bowed deeply, expressing their determination.

"Good, study hard, don't waste your time outside, and don't lose yourself in debauchery!" Looking at his young relatives, Jin Xiong hoped they would grow up quickly and go further!

Yesterday, the villagers learned that they could have their own shops at the market and trade at the prices they had in previous years, and they immediately felt hopeful about the future!

Yesterday, Jin Xiong even traded his own possessions for a 20-year-old ginseng from someone's family as a gift, which he had his son take over. He didn't ask what his nephew's family had prepared, presumably because they had also made some preparations.

They even prepared a donkey cart to personally transport them there!

He Chen packed a few things: his valuables and some food. Lan Sao and the others packed a few clothes and everything else together.

Jin Xiong arrived with Jin Feng and Jin Luo. The two looked at the three people in front of them without saying a word, keeping their eyes closed and their hearts focused. They knew that words should not be spoken, for speaking too much would bring suffering!

Jin Xiong introduced them, "This is my son, Jin Luo, and this is Jin Feng!"

"Greetings, Brother Shen," the two said in unison.

"Alright, from now on, you two just need to gather information for me in the market. Record and report on rare and precious materials, demons and monsters, and you'll be paid three taels a month!" He Chen looked at the two people he vaguely remembered and assigned them tasks directly!

"Yes, Brother Shen," the two said in unison!

Then, the two each presented a gift.

One is a 20-year-old ginseng, and the other is an unusually heavy mineral, no bigger than a thumb!

"My father obtained this by chance. I don't know what kind of ore it is. I hope you won't find it offensive, Brother Shen!" Jin Feng quickly explained.

'Could this be a star stone, capable of being directly integrated into a treasure or something?' He Chen thought in surprise. This was somewhat similar to what he had heard before!

He took out the Gentleman's Blade, attached the Star Stone to the blade, and used his blood energy to neutralize it. Slowly, the Star Stone indeed merged into the blade, making the Gentleman's Blade even sharper, stronger, and more indestructible, with an added sense of purity, as if responding to He Chen!

"Alright, take this," He Chen handed them the Five Tiger Blades to break the gate, and then gave them ten taels of silver.

I have plenty of loose silver, but I'm short of big money. Rare and precious treasures—you can't necessarily buy any of them even if you have money, but you definitely can't buy many if you don't have money, unless you rob them!

The group consisted of five people: He Chen rode a horse, Lan Sao and her daughter rode in a carriage, and Jin Wen and Jin Feng took turns driving the carriage!

Looking at Jinjia Village receding into the distance, He Chen thought to himself, 'Through trials and tribulations, I will witness a prosperous world, and behold countless beauties and talented women. From this day forward, I will take my first step!'

The group walked quickly and arrived at the market in an hour. This market was Hualin Town, and there were many birch trees around it!

Old Master Weng had been waiting for He Chen's arrival for a long time!

"My lord, my lord, the house has been cleaned up and completely renovated. Are you satisfied with what you see? We've also had a large new room built inside. The front is the reception room, and the back is your resting area!" the guide explained as he led the way.

The streets have been cleaned up quickly, and the outhouses are almost finished. They've worked really fast!

Looking at the completely renovated house, it seemed as if the entire house had been rebuilt overnight. The house on the far left had been demolished, and an archway had been built. Several more houses had been rebuilt behind it, making it look like a garden. It was a thoughtful touch!

"Okay, not bad. Yesterday's expenses probably weren't enough. Keep a good record of your expenses! You can take an extra five taels!" He Chen handed a gold leaf to Old Man Weng.

Such dedication is commendable and deserves a reward!

No wonder people in ancient times all wanted to be emperors; it was such a luxury. Luckily, this land wasn't worth much!

"Also, build a few more storefronts along the street and let Jinjia Village choose one!" He Chen said.

"Yes, sir, should we build a few more? With you here, in such a good location, I reckon many people will be willing to come and buy," Old Man Weng asked.

"Okay, you can build it first, and then you need to plan it well. The intersection should be wide open in the middle," He Chen nodded in agreement.

"Sister Lan, the back room is the living quarters. I'll have someone open a side door on the other side later! Sister Lan, please go in and rest first. Have Old Man Weng find a few more people to help tidy up!" He Chen said to Sister Lan.

"Okay, no need to ask for help, I can take care of it myself," Sister Lan said.

"Madam, please don't be so polite. Please go ahead. Someone will bring your things over to you right away. Just point to a place and let them put them there." Old Master Weng's eyesight was impeccable, and with just one sentence, he made Sister Lan blush slightly!

"Come over here quickly and move Madam's things into the backyard. Slow down, okay? Please, Madam. I'll lead the way first," Old Master Weng said politely to Sister Lan.

"Thank you for your help, you're getting old." Sister Lan glanced at He Chen, and seeing He Chen nod, she agreed to let Wen'er go first!
