137 Tearing Part Two
Young Master Chai was in so much pain that he couldn't even make a sound. His mouth was open and closed, sweat poured down his face, and his body was completely soaked.
A moment later, a loud "Ah!" echoed through the sky, startling the clouds in all directions. The night patrolmen outside looked at Dexing Tower; its doors and windows were tightly shut. The cries from inside continued unabated.
They all shook their heads, thinking to themselves, 'This is a terrible tragedy! Who knows which good family has suffered this misfortune? That damned Young Master Huang deserves to be torn to pieces. Isn't anyone going to punish them?' Unable to bear hearing such comments, they quickly walked away.
It took Young Master Chai a moment to react. His manhood, meant to carry on the family line, had been forcibly ripped out. Blood gushed out instantly.
The two guards below, who were silencing their foes, thought their young master had captured the enemy and was slowly torturing him. For a moment, they paid no attention.
They were already used to it. They also had great faith in their young master's abilities. After all, he possessed immortal techniques. Their young master had powerful backers. It wasn't just because of the ruler of Wanzhou, but also because of other connections. They had witnessed it firsthand. With a wave of his hand, their young master could burn someone alive.
So the slaughter continued, but his men swifted their pace, swinging their blades with even greater ferocity. He had originally intended to enjoy a few of the songstresses before killing them, but hearing their screams, he could no longer wait and decided to finish the job quickly, eliminating them all.
Two blades of light flashed through the air, striking the man instantly with lightning speed, piercing his chest. "Ah!" "Ah!" Two cries rang out simultaneously. The blade energy pierced directly through their chests. They collapsed instantly. Turning their heads with difficulty, they couldn't believe it—why would their young master want to kill them to silence them?
Turning his head, he saw his young master being held in someone else's arms. His young master was completely paralyzed in someone else's embrace. He was instantly enraged. Unbelievably, he coughed up a mouthful of blood, his eyes wide open in death, unable to close.
He screamed inwardly, "Young master, I can do it too! Why did you choose that pretty boy? I'll never rest in peace!" The other person was also driven to death by anger.
Seeing the two crazed guards fall dead, the others who had hidden breathed a sigh of relief. But they dared not flee. Who knew if there were ambushes outside?
Besides, the streets aren't safe at night. Thieves, petty thieves, and who knows, maybe even some dirty stuff you don't want to see. If you get involved with those things, you'll be in big trouble.
Although this city is relatively safe, even if there are ghosts or spirits, they can't hide for long before being eliminated. But what about before they're eliminated? Who can guarantee they won't be that unlucky ghost? So it's best not to go out at night.
He Chen looked at the person lying on the ground and the person he was holding in his arms. He grabbed the arm and pulled hard. A bloody line appeared. Another painful scream rang out. He casually tossed the person to the ground.
Then, repeating the process, he forcefully pulled on both men's limbs. Cries of pain filled the air. Blood flowed freely. Then he addressed the crowd.
"Which of you was forced here?" A moment of stunned silence followed. Suddenly, four or five women ran out, crying, and said, "Sir, we were all forced."
The women then cried, "This young master Wang runs some small workshops. I made tofu in his tofu workshop. It was always kept very clean, and the tofu was always made perfectly."
This young master Wang deliberately had someone sabotage me, switching several sheets of tofu, and then falsely accusing me, demanding tenfold compensation. How could this young woman possibly afford that? I was forced to sell myself to pay off my debts.' She cried as she spoke.
Another woman said, 'I was washing clothes for a wealthy family in the laundry room. Young Master Wang deliberately had mud put in the already washed clothes to frame me. He's forcing me to sell my finest silks and satins. I have no choice but to sell both of my clothes to pay off the debt. Please, Your Honor, do us justice!'
Other women also came forward to recount their experiences. They were mostly tricked or coerced by the young master of the Wang family.
This young master of the Wang family monopolized all the workshops, big and small, in the city, including workshops making bean products such as soft tofu, shredded tofu, tofu skin, and dried tofu.
Craft workshop: making cushions, chair cushions, straw hats, and also insoles.
Peanut and chili processing workshops, woven bags, laundry, etc.
These practices could provide some poor people with needlework work, but the wages were low and the work was plentiful. Moreover, Young Master Wang was wicked and unscrupulous; he truly deserved to die.
After hearing this, they carefully searched the two men. Neither of them was lacking. Both possessed Qiankun bags. Young Master Huang was in so much pain he couldn't even utter a sound. Young Master Chai was in the same state. Their eyes gleamed with a wolfish blue light, as if they wanted nothing more than to devour his flesh and drink his blood, and to exterminate his entire family.
They all thought to themselves, 'If I survive, I'll torture He Chen every day, making him wish he were dead. Even that won't ease the hatred in my heart.' They gritted their teeth, whether from pain or a desire to devour He Chen, it was hard to tell.
Watching He Chen expertly search his belongings, he was overwhelmed with grief and indignation. Young Master Huang fainted from anger. Perhaps this was a kind of happiness, too.
He Chen opened the mantle and found a number of women's underwear and various strange clothes inside. They looked new, but the fabric was very thin. The trousers had several large holes. There were also some loose silver coins and a bottle of pills with the small characters 'Dragon Tiger Pill' written on it.
The items all seemed quite good. He Chen didn't show any disdain whatsoever. He put them all away, hung the Qiankun bag on his waist, and then opened another one.
Young Master Chai's storage bag contained over a dozen talismans. The red ones were likely fire talismans, while the blue ones emitted a chilling aura, probably ice spikes or similar spells. He likely didn't have time to use them all. There was also an earth-colored talisman, the kind I'd seen before.
The inside was quite nice, a large stack of silver notes. I didn't look closely, but I estimate it was over 20,000. There was also a string of gold leaves, about a dozen in total.
He Chen lightly stepped forward. Could it be the first floor? In an instant, he picked up all the gold leaves on the ground. Then he searched the bodies of the other people, finding some loose silver.
Then, with a light step, he arrived on the second floor. Looking at the wolf's corpse, he thought to himself, 'How could a demon beast have infiltrated Wanzhou? This demon slayer, this City God Temple, and even the county government office probably all have some problems.'
And then there are my past contributions. To lament my achievements is to pay for them with my life.
Then he said softly to the women, 'You are free now. Go back quickly.' He then gave them some loose silver, about three or four taels each.
The women prostrated themselves, kneeling in gratitude, and said, "Thank you, our benefactor."
