Chapter 650 First to Act

650 First to act

The old foreman and his subordinate's nephew, along with two others, looked at the clothes left at the entrance of the inner room, including their underwear, all of which were soaked through.

The three of them exchanged glances, their eyes burning with desire yet wary of one another, each afraid of taking advantage of the other.

"I'm so cold! Do any of you three heroes have clothes you could lend me?" A shivering voice came from the cold, and it was a very pleasant voice.

The old foreman's eyes were red and burning as he tried his best to hide it. He looked at the other two with a serious expression, and the two immediately lowered their eyes!

The old foreman's nephew quickly came to his senses and said, "Uncle, your cultivation is high, you're not afraid of the cold, but we can't. Please go inside and take off your clothes and give them to the woman to change into."

The old foreman glared at his nephew and said in a deep, powerful voice, "You two, how can you be so spineless? You've been bewitched by a woman's few words and can't even keep your own hearts."

I'll go in and check first. If there's no danger, you can come in later.

The two nephews lowered their heads silently after hearing the old foreman's words. They both knew that the old foreman was right and that their behavior just now had indeed been somewhat inappropriate. They should have waited outside.

The old foreman straightened his clothes, took off his coat, and slowly walked inside.

Before the time it takes to drink a cup of tea was up, a faint, strange sound came from inside.

The old foreman's nephew and the other two heard the noise and their faces immediately showed surprise and uncertainty. They exchanged glances, a feeling of unease rising in their hearts, their eyes reddening, filled with anger and resentment.

The sound continued to enter his ears unnoticed.

Hearing the two growing increasingly passionate, he felt as if his heart was on fire.

The old foreman's subordinates and nephew were furious and felt that they had been deceived!

They felt extremely dissatisfied and indignant about the old foreman's actions, 'It's been so long, and he hasn't even called them in to see what's going on.'

Anger welled up inside them, and the two quickly went inside.

Suddenly, there were sounds of wind, rain, and strange noises!

Zhan Liuliang stood six feet away for about fifteen minutes. His five senses were greatly enhanced, and suddenly a strong smell of blood came from the window, mixed with a nauseating stench.

He quickly walked to the window and cautiously peeked out through the crack in the door to check the situation.

The room was empty, with only an oil lamp standing there, as if it could be blown out at any moment.

At the entrance to the inner room, a shirtless man struggled painfully, maintaining a posture as if trying to crawl out.

His eyes were filled with anger and resentment, and that familiar face was none other than the old squad leader that Zhan Liuliang could never forget.

Seeing this, Zhan Liuliang felt a surge of joy, his expression one of immense satisfaction. He thought to himself, 'So you've finally met your match.'

There seemed to be wounds beneath him still oozing blood, staining the surrounding ground a glaring red. Blood slowly flowed out, and Zhan Liu's eyes lit up with a burning desire, unable to suppress the longing in his heart.

Despite the faint fishy smell in the air, and the strangely familiar scent of his kind, Zhan Liuliang remained vigilant.

I tried the door and found it was only lightly secured. I couldn't help but use a little force, as if I were gently pushing the door open and entering. It felt like coming home. Then I slowly closed the door.

He swung the large blade down at the old foreman's head!

Brains splattered, a complete mess!

Inside, a disheveled woman was huddled in a corner, seemingly terrified.

Two young constables lay on the ground, one in front of the other, their faces contorted in pain. One of them was the enemy that Zhan Liuliang was looking for.

His face was pale, but a strange smile hung on the corner of his mouth, as if he were immersed in boundless happiness and joy, which sent chills down one's spine.

A fist-sized wound lay on the enemy's back; his heart appeared to have been ripped out, leaving only an empty hole of flesh. The stench of blood filled the air, nauseatingly so.

Despite witnessing such a cruel method, Zhan Liuliang felt a surge of pleasure!

Faced with the death of his enemy, Zhan Liuliang felt a surge of complex emotions.

Although he had always longed to avenge those who had been harmed by his enemies, he did not feel the relief and satisfaction he expected at this moment.

Staring at his enemy's corpse, a cold smile played on his lips, a sense of emptiness and loss washing over him!

He whispered, 'You've really gotten off easy.'

With the large blade in hand, he didn't relax for a moment, staring at the beautiful young woman whose clothes were disheveled and somewhat attractive.

Zhan Liuliang's eyes were fixed on the woman's blood-stained hand, the size of which was almost the same as the wounds left on the back of the three men's chests.

A chill ran through him as he instantly recognized the man who had avenged him. However, with his old scouts and other enemies dead, Zhan Liuliang didn't want to cause any more trouble and focused on calming his inner turmoil.

Slowly, they began to back away, preparing to leave.

"Great hero, save me! These yamen runners were bullying me, but luckily a mysterious hero happened to pass by and killed them all. I have nowhere to go, please take me in!"

At this moment, the woman stood up tremblingly, her body shaking violently, as if she had not yet fully recovered from the fear she had just experienced.

She stood up straight, showing off her delicate and graceful figure.

The yamen runner's loose-fitting clothes he was wearing were tattered and torn, as if they were pieced together from scraps of cloth, with only a few pieces barely holding them together. He looked extremely disheveled, with a fleeting glimpse of a flower.

Looking at her, Zhan Liuliang sensed a familiar feeling, and a surge of emotion welled up within him. However, he quickly calmed himself, gave the woman a deep look, and slowly retreated.

The woman watched Zhan Liuliang retreat cautiously, a complex emotion flashing in her eyes.

He said softly, "Young master, you came straight here at night with a knife. You have been bullied by these yamen runners before. These yamen runners bully the people in the neighborhood and they deserve to die."

"Young master, you seem to care deeply for the people. Why not join us in protecting this peaceful region?"

Upon hearing this, Zhan Liuliang's heart stirred.

After a moment's thought, he slowly asked, "Who are you?"

The woman stopped pretending to be pitiful and sat down gently on a wooden chair. Her thin yamen uniform seemed to keep her from getting cold. She propped one foot up on the chair and leaned back lightly.

She tidied her long, snow-white hair and said softly, "I belong to the Serpent God Sect, and we warmly welcome someone as strong and powerful as you, young master, with profound cultivation, to join us."

She paused for a moment, then stretched out her long, straight legs.

He continued, "If you, young master, are willing to join, many of my sisters will gladly welcome you."

Her eyes were filled with anticipation, as if she were waiting for her lover to come and give her a reassuring answer.

Zhan Liuliang could not hide the faint, fishy smell emanating from the woman!
