Chapter 9 The Market, A Place to Stay

9. Market, a place to settle down

Upon hearing He Chen's words, Uncle Jin knew that Jin Village was too small to keep a hidden dragon like He Chen!

"Brother Chen, there's no need to cancel it. Our Jin Village goods will also be sold at the market in the future. I wonder if we might be able to get a permanent stall there!"

Uncle Jin continued, "We'll hand over 30%, and then give another 10% separately to Brother Shen. Is that feasible?"

He Chen glanced thoughtfully at Uncle Jin.

Jin Xiong continued sincerely and frankly, "I wonder if Brother Shen needs one or two helpers? My good-for-nothing son and nephew might be able to assist him!"

"Sure, if they're willing, of course they can. But they shouldn't ask what they shouldn't ask, and they shouldn't say what they shouldn't say. I don't need them to fight to the death. Let them come and help me gather information!" He Chen nodded in agreement, looking at Jin Xiong's sincere eyes and pleading expression.

"Thank you, thank you very much, Brother Shen. Don't worry, they will only do what you tell them, and they won't say a word more than necessary! If they do, I'll kill them on the spot!" Jin Xiong bowed deeply in gratitude and assured him.

"As for the extra 10%, don't worry about it. I'll have Old Man Weng build a few more shops along the street later. You can go to Old Man Weng and choose one yourself," He Chen said.

He thought to himself, 'Consider this repayment for the shelter my son and I have had these past few years!'

"Thank you so much, Brother Shen!" Jin Xiong clasped his hands in thanks again.

Even the smallest shop is a good place. If He Chen continues to be domineering, the village's goods will have a way to go out and develop!

So, before it got dark, the two rode back. Riding a horse was relatively fast; the horse was thin but had good stamina, and they returned in less than half an hour!

"Brother Chen, let me settle this horse for you. You can use it tomorrow," Jin Xiong said, taking the initiative to settle the skinny horse.

"Okay, then I'll have to trouble you, Uncle Xiong," He Chen said, taking out a tael of silver from his pocket and placing it in Jin Xiong's hand.

"This," watching He Chen turn and leave with his knife, she didn't refuse!

Back home, just as I was about to rest, I took stock of what I had accomplished and reflected on the whole process. Only by examining myself three times a day can I go further!

Aunt Lan arrived, carrying a pot of tea, followed timidly by the little girl standing outside the door!

"Come in and sit down," He Chen said softly.

"Thank you," Aunt Lan said gratefully.

He quickly poured He Chen a cup of tea, then took the child from the doorway to the kitchen and found a place to settle him down.

He Chen was thirsty after a busy day, so he drank the water in his cup in one gulp to quench his thirst!

After watching He Chen finish his drink, Aunt Lan poured him another cup!

"Go and cook me dinner first, with plenty of meat. You can all eat here too!" He Chen said.

"Okay, it'll be ready soon!" Aunt Lan went to cook.

Wisps of smoke rose from the chimneys, and soon many chimneys were rising from the village!

He calmed himself down, clearing his mind of worldly thoughts, and took stock of his gains: silver, gold leaves, and the Five Tigers Breaking Blade Sect. He carefully examined the sword techniques, noting that while the techniques were generally skillful, they only included moves and power generation techniques. After reading them, he discovered that the Five Tigers Breaking Blade Sect technique was not listed in the attributes, which was unusual.

You know, the first time I tried, I couldn't understand the "One Slash, Three Thousand Cuts" technique at all, but the sword technique itself appeared in my attributes. Now, with the Five Tigers Severing Blade Sect, I fully understand it, yet it's not listed! It seems my skill level is too low, and they're too lazy to include it in my attributes!

Looking at all these miscellaneous items, it's quite something—there are even Qiankun bags and spatial rings.

After carefully checking the exchange options, I found that they were indeed available. A ring with one cubic meter of space cost 500 kill points!

A Life and Death Contract costs 500 points, and a Cloud Piercing Arrow costs 500 points! There are other treasures as well. Looking at the treasures I want, the Golden Silk Armor also costs 1000 points. But seeing all those zeros, it just doesn't seem worth exchanging for!

He was so angry he almost vomited blood. Then he looked at his kill points and realized he had quite a lot—a whole number: 300!

He Chen pondered to himself, "The Qiankun Bag, these external possessions, are not worth it!"

Only by clearing your mind of distractions can you avoid being invaded by evil spirits!

300 points. First, upgrade the Divine Bell Shield and the Thunderfire Heart Technique. Prepare the ginseng first!

Instantly using 100 points, I upgraded to the Bronze-level Divine Bell Shield. My entire body felt like it was wrapped in layers of copper, buzzing and humming. It was all skin and bones, and I felt like I had gained weight and increased density. My whole body was sharp, and my senses and perception were enhanced. I will experience it slowly later!

The bones even changed color, turning purplish-red! Who knows, perhaps one day my body will be as pure as crystal, neither defiled nor clean!

With the Thunderfire Heart Technique enhanced, the power of 21 volts of lightning and 21 degrees of flame was unleashed! Instantly, the ignition ignited within the body, training the internal organs, the mind, and the blood throughout the body, causing even more power to accumulate within the cells!

This power has grown even stronger. If it were bestowed upon the Gentleman's Blade, its power would increase greatly. However, it still wouldn't allow the blade energy to leave the body; rather, the blade energy would leave the body and injure people invisibly. If true energy were bestowed upon flowers and leaves, then even flying flowers and plucking leaves could injure people! I truly yearn for it!

Then he ate the ginseng like crazy, taking big bites, and his teeth became even sharper!

My hunger has lessened a bit, but I still need to stock up on ginseng and other spiritual herbs and fruits for the future. I don't know how many killing points there are for demons and monsters. My greatsword is itching for a fight!

"Brother Chen, the meal is ready," Aunt Lan asked as she came over.

"Let's eat in the kitchen," He Chen said, then went to the kitchen.

They allocated a portion of each dish on the table to Aunt Lan and the others, and then devoured all the meat in a whirlwind!
