Chapter 29 A Family of Three
Lin Youqian ignored her and walked straight out with Qi Xu in his hand.
"Lin Youqian, why are you dragging me away in such a rage? Are you hiding something shameful from me?"
Qi Xu's words were half a joke and half a question.
How could Lin Youqian, with his cunning and high IQ, possibly answer such a tricky question directly?
He took the initiative and questioned her. "I haven't asked you yet. Didn't you say you were on duty? Why are you here? Are you lying to me?"
Qi Xu's face flushed, and her demeanor immediately waned. "Dr. Tang's family affairs have been sorted out, so I don't need to cover. Besides, I can't handle working two consecutive days!"
"Then what are you doing at Huakang Hospital?"
Qi Xu answered truthfully. "I came to see Dean Ouyang, my university advisor, and I wanted to consult him about the postgraduate entrance exam."
Lin Youqian pinched her soft little face. "I didn't expect our Qiqi to be such a motivated child."
After Qi Xu explained his whereabouts, he turned to ask him, "What about you? Didn't you say you had to work overtime on an urgent mission? How did you become someone else's woman?"
He explained glibly, "When women and children encounter difficulties, as comrades in the People's Liberation Army, we should unhesitatingly lend our assistance. As you said, it's a pleasure to help others, right?"
"Hmph!" Qi Xu snorted coldly. "Colonel Lin, helping someone else's child become your own, is truly a great deed."
Lin Youqian smiled bitterly. He knew that this little girl was not so easy to fool with her half-true and half-false explanation.
"The baby injured today is called Tongtong. She's the child of my comrade. My comrade died in the line of duty. Before he left, he asked me to take care of their only daughter. He told me that if he couldn't return safely, I should adopt the child. That's why the child calls me dad. That day, I told you I wanted to adopt a daughter, and that's her."
Qi Xu was shocked. She had never imagined the truth would be this. She admired the hero, but also felt pity for the little girl who had lost her father.
"Then the lady named Zhou Ying just now, is she the baby's mother?"
Lin Youqian shook his head. "No. She's a cultural and arts soldier in the army. Because the child is so young and needs the care and love of a woman, she's been raising him since he was young."
"Ms. Zhou Ying does seem to be a good mother with a beautiful face and a kind heart." Qi Xu's praise was tinged with jealousy.
She tilted her head and stared at Lin Youqian. "I want to ask, Dad Lin, what is your relationship with Mom Zhou?"
Lin Youqian's scalp began to tingle.
How come he never knew that this little girl was so smart? Even after everything was explained so clearly, she was still able to grasp the key point of the problem and get to the bottom of it.
"What kind of relationship could there be? We're just raising Tongtong together!"
"Is there really nothing to do with it?" Qi Xu's clear eyes were filled with deep inquiry.
"No!" Lin Youqian denied it, but he was panicking inside.
Some things have to be explained slowly later. If all the secrets are revealed at once, the little stutterer will definitely be furious. I guess he won't be able to eat meat for the next six months.
"What about her about you? Doesn't she have any feelings for you at all?"
Lin Youqian really wanted to shut up this little mouth that was asking such complicated questions. No matter how he answered this kind of question, it would be wrong.
"Why should I care about others? Who she thinks of is none of my business. I only love my little wife."
"I'm the concubine? Then who's the first wife? Is it Mother Zhou?"
It was clearly a perfect answer, but Qi Xu still found fault with it. She was very unhappy with this unrelated family of three, especially the woman who was obviously interested in her husband.

This awkward greeting made Qi Xu want to find a hole to crawl into.
What was even more embarrassing was that a young man as fast as the wind came running from a distance. He spread his wings and ran towards Qi Xu enthusiastically, shouting happily.
"Qiwa! I'm coming!"
This person is Ouyang Song's grandson, named Ouyang Jiashu. He is a famous musical talent in China. Many popular songs are written by him.
Because Qi Xu's surname was Qi and he looked like a baby, Ouyang Jiashu gave him an exaggerated yet appropriate nickname, Qiwawa.
Just as Ouyang Jiashu was about to hug Qi Xu with his arms outstretched, he was pushed several meters away by a strong arm.
While the man was eliminating the harasser, he also held Qi Xu tightly in his arms.
Ouyang Jiashu stumbled several steps before steadying himself. "Who the hell are you? You're so arrogant!"
Lin Youqian's momentum was even more arrogant than his. "You're looking for death! You dare to touch my wife? Believe it or not, I'll tear you apart!"
Ouyang Jiashu's eyes widened as he looked at Qi Xu with a resentful look. "Qi Wa, you actually got married without telling Grandpa? And you found a man?"
Qi Xu found it funny. "If I'm not looking for a man, then why would I look for a woman?"
Ouyang Jiashu was anxious and angry, and began to speak incoherently. "You stupid fool, is that what I meant? I asked you why you got married? No, why did you get married without my consent?"
Qi Xu often bickers with Ouyang Jiashu, so he speaks without restraint.
"I got married on a whim. You're not my grandfather, so why should I care?"
Ouyang Jiashu was furious. "You stupid gourd boy, if you wanted to get married, you could have come to me. How could you just marry any man?"
Qi Xu replied proudly. "Why would I look for you? You have so many girlfriends. Would I marry you and become your thirteenth concubine?"
"I, I, all those girlfriends I had were fake. They were spread by music companies to promote actresses and deliberately hype up couples. How could you believe it, you idiot? Do you know that the person I like is you? I fell in love with you the first time I saw you during your freshman year."
Qi Xu laughed heartily. She didn't believe Ouyang Jiashu's nonsense at all.
"You're kidding me. Haven't you always disliked me for being stupid, dumb, and an idiot? Why do you like me? I'm just thankful you don't find fault with me."
Ouyang Jiashu was so upset that he wanted to cry. He teased her and made jokes about her, but she took them all seriously.
