Chapter 81

"This is impossible. How did he have access to this?"

An equally old voice questioned, it was an old man in a lower position, his voice sounded anxious and trembling.

"There is indeed no way to travel back to Haiyin Temple," a younger voice interrupted. The middle-aged man reported without any emotion, just like a machine operating precisely under the system. "Our people have followed him for a long time, and this can be guaranteed."

"How could that be..." It was still the voice of the old man from before. He seemed to be keeping silent about the Utopia and was extremely wary and fearful of it.

After he finished speaking, no one spoke for a long time.

"You are not lying to us to make us give up on him as a qualified candidate, are you?" A voice from somewhere broke the brief silence and balance, "After all, isn't Haiyinsi Suyou your grandson?"

Natsume Soseki ignored this groundless suspicion and just stared ahead expressionlessly, waiting for the answer from the real person in power.

He has seen many such little idiots in the past few decades. If even his loyalty is doubted, then most of the people present will probably be sent to the underground base of the Special Ability Division.

And the previous voice quickly sank into silence after no one responded.

"Just wait and see." A voice of unknown age came from behind the barrier in front of Natsume Soseki.

As everyone was whispering about his words, the voice continued, "Next month, the ritual procedures will not allow any mistakes."

After these words, there was no more sound.

No one spoke for more than half an hour. Some people still craned their necks to try to hear some other instructions, while others were silent with different expressions. There was no paper, pen, or communication or video equipment in this meeting.

"Let's adjourn the meeting."

A sound like a huge bell came from another place, which was much louder than the previous ones.

The scene became increasingly quiet for a few minutes, and soon became noisy, but when Natsume Soseki walked down from the podium, the whispers suddenly disappeared as if they had never existed.

People left, but Natsume Soseki did not leave this place he did not like very much immediately. The old man looked straight ahead, even though there was no one behind him.

He thought a lot before reporting, but reason ultimately overwhelmed everything, as it always did for him.

**************

The door was pushed open, and Nakajima Atsushi initially thought it was an Oompa-Loompa nurse who enthusiastically offered to help them get some food to fill their stomachs. He was about to go over to her, as he was indeed starving after all the trouble he had gone through, but he saw a familiar golden cane enter the room first.

It's Roald Dahl.

Nakajima Atsushi somehow froze up, feeling like an elementary school student who hadn't reviewed at all but was called on by the teacher to do a remark. He didn't even notice that his hands and feet were tangled until he heard Dazai Osamu's rude laughter.

The boy's face suddenly turned red. He couldn't remember how many times he had behaved so badly in front of Mr. Dahl, and every time he was comforted by Mr. Dahl.

Feeling the soothing touch on his head, Nakajima Atsushi thought in despair.

"Did you two have a good rest?" asked the man in the chocolate-colored top hat with a smile.

But just as he finished speaking, the white-haired boy's stomach rumbled, making the little tiger shy again.

"Are you hungry?" The candy merchant showed an expression of sudden enlightenment. "Yes, after all, I have been touring with you for so long, your energy must have been consumed quickly."

"But don't worry, the Oompa-Loompas have prepared a feast for everyone to enjoy, and there will also be tastings of many new products that have not yet been released."

This is really very attractive, especially for those who are really hungry now.

, and for Nakajima Atsushi, who had already been impressed by Roald Dahl's bizarre products, this was undoubtedly a very exciting invitation.

But Nakajima Atsushi was a little unsure. He subconsciously wanted to seek other people's opinions, but he also felt that he was the one who should take responsibility at the moment.

I don't know when it started, maybe from the moment he was announced as the heir by Roald Dahl, even if Nakajima Atsushi himself did not realize the meaning of it, he indeed seemed to be much more confident than before.

Such a change was naturally noticed by Dazai Osamu, but the young man in the light-colored windbreaker just turned his head away as if he didn't care. He hadn't been so irritable for a long time, or rather, when he was still a child, he almost never got irritated by other people's affairs.

But at this moment, this feeling as if someone was secretly manipulating him made him excited for the first time in a long time. This was a provocation, at least that was what Dazai himself thought. Roald Dahl's attitude really made him feel unhappy.

If he could figure out their purpose, he might be able to see some interesting reactions from them, Dazai Osamu thought. The so-called psychics he had come into contact with before were all people who were quite fond of mysticism.

Although he looked away, when he heard no sound from Nakajima Atsushi, Dazai knew that the boy was probably eroded by the sugar-coated bullet, so he naturally laughed without any hesitation.

"Come on, Dun, now that we have come to this, we will be disrespectful."

Dazai Osamu jumped up from the sofa and smiled his signature smile again. Although Nakajima Atsushi instinctively shuddered at that smile like a small animal, for some reason, Nakajima Atsushi always felt that this smile was not very sincere.

But the atmosphere had already been set to this point, and Nakajima Atsushi didn't think much about it.

"Then let's go?" Nakajima Atsushi temporarily put his worries aside. He was really tired and hungry, and urgently needed to have a big meal and a good rest.

The dishes at the banquet did not disappoint. The long table was filled with all kinds of things, including exquisite dishes that Nakajima Atsushi had never seen before and almost all street snacks.

There was even rice soaked in tea! Nakajima Atsushi noticed this with his sharp eyes, and felt an indescribable touch in his heart. Even though it was a bit of a waste to eat rice soaked in tea at such a banquet, he was still happy that his hobby was noticed.

But apparently someone thought more. When Dazai Osamu saw the dishes that were obviously prepared according to his and Nakajima Atsushi's preferences, although his expression did not change much, it was obvious that many thoughts had flashed through the young man's mind.

In fact, all of this was thanks to the barrage. Kaionji Temple Tour easily knew their preferences, which made Nakajima Atsushi happy and allowed Dazai Osamu to think spontaneously, so he was naturally happy to do so.

However, there seemed to be too few participants in the banquet.

Nakajima Atsushi only remembered this after he came down from his meal. He clearly remembered that Roald Dahl said that all visitors could participate.

After swallowing the perfectly grilled beef, Nakajima turned around and asked curiously, "Mr. Dahl, where are the other members?"

The candy merchant in a lilac velvet tuxedo wiped his hands elegantly and answered Nakajima's question slowly, "They have already left. Apparently they had no intention of enjoying the meal with me. They just left with their participation prize and some souvenirs."

Roald Dahl emphasized the pronunciation of the word "souvenir". Nakajima Atsushi's intuition told him that this was definitely not a simple superficial meaning, and the meaning behind it was definitely not what he wanted to hear. Even though he was very curious, he still did not ask.

"So that's how it is..." Nakajima Atsushi hurriedly tried to end the topic and buried his head in eating rice soaked in tea, trying to ease the atmosphere.

The young man who was feasting on the crab on the other side obviously had no intention of joining in. He was just dismembering the poor marine creature with great interest.

"That's right, Dun."

Although Nakajima Atsushi didn't want to continue the conversation, Roald Dahl seemed to have endless topics to talk about with him.

, Nakajima Atsushi had to raise his head and listen carefully.

"How are you going to get back?"

This question made Nakajima Atsushi stunned for a moment. The boy scratched his head and answered quickly:

"Well, maybe take a plane? But it depends on whether we have enough money..."

"I'm afraid taking a plane isn't a good option, and other forms of transportation don't seem to be very suitable either." The man held his chin and smiled thoughtfully.

"Oh, no, no way?" Nakajima Atsushi stared at Roald Dahl blankly, and his wide-eyed look obviously pleased the man very much.

The candy merchant, who had lived for who knows how many years, stroked his goatee with a smile and said half-jokingly, "Not impossible. If Dun really likes being in the camera, I certainly have no objection."

"What do you mean?" Nakajima Atsushi was completely confused.

"Well, it's probably because you're famous, kid. I think the news that you're the final winner has spread all over the world just now."

These light words were met with silence.

Nakajima Atsushi was speechless; his tongue was tied with surprise.

"I, I, I, this, this, this," Nakajima Atsushi wanted to say something, but in the end his voice gradually faded away, "I haven't decided yet..."

"That's not my idea. Some things will come to you even if you don't want them and don't want to fight for them," Roald Dahl said meaningfully.

Kaiinji Suyou slowly pursed his lips after this, and Nakajima Atsushi obviously recalled some not-so-pleasant memories, such as the bounty that had put him and his companions in danger countless times. Their eyes gradually became firm.

There was something precious gleaming in Nakajima Atsushi's eyes. Kaiinji Temple looked somewhat familiar, very beautiful and rare. Perhaps Nakajima Atsushi would really be the right person.

"But don't worry for now. I have a way to get you back safely, although the process may be more exciting."

Perhaps intending to change the atmosphere which had suddenly become heavy and formal, Roald Dahl's tone suddenly became playful, as if he was brewing a harmless prank.

"What method?" Nakajima Atsushi, who was not a very roundabout person and obviously not good at guessing people's minds, immediately followed Roald Dahl's words and continued speaking innocently.

"You'll like it," the candy merchant said calmly.

After finishing their meal, Nakajima Atsushi and Dazai Osamu were led in a certain direction.

Dazai Osamu guessed something, and looking at the unaware Nakajima Atsushi, he once again doubted whether his fame would be ruined because of this disciple. He looked so unvigilant, like a foolish child who could be tricked into working with a piece of candy by waving his hand on the street.

In fact, he was not completely without a premonition of danger. When he saw Roald Dahl's steps becoming lighter and lighter as he got closer to his destination, and even jumping in small steps, Nakajima Atsushi had a sense of foreboding.

When he reached the familiar elevator door, Nakajima Atsushi's brain had already started to sound the alarm frantically.

But it was obvious that his resistance was finally humiliated by Roald Darchner's bribe of ten years' worth of chocolates, and he succumbed without hesitation, as shown by his half-hearted push towards the elevator and his clinging to the handrail.

Having taken the elevator once before, Nakajima Atsushi thought he was a little resistant to the experience of a glass elevator. He took a deep breath and watched Roald Dahl skillfully pressing the buttons.

But he overlooked one problem. This time, their journey was from Britain to Japan, not just taking a lift in a factory like before.

But it was obvious that Nakajima Atsushi didn't realize this until the elevator door slowly closed.

"How do we get to Japan?" Nakajima Atsushi had some basic knowledge of geography, and he was a little skeptical whether this glass elevator could get them to the Armed Detective Agency.

"Of course I flew over from above." The man's voice seemed distorted for some reason as it rose.

"What?" Nakajima Atsushi realized belatedly that he seemed to have forgotten to ask a very important question, and at the moment his mind turned, a little tiger that was terrified in the physical sense was instantly created.

All this negligence eventually turned into a scream that was difficult for human vocal cords to produce. If there were residents near the candy factory, then perhaps some legends about the devil being tortured or the war between fairies would have been born in the area.

"Wait--" Nakajima Atsushi was also hesitant to speak today, but this time he was forced to do so by the acceleration. If it weren't for Dazai Osamu's rare companion who lovingly helped him close his mouth, the boy might have lost the tip of his tongue and caused a bloody crime.

With a loud bang, countless broken wood strips, bricks and iron sheets fell from the roof of Dale Candy Company. The dust made the three people in the elevator unable to see their surroundings for a moment.

Soon, Nakajima Atsushi saw a blue color. After breaking through the roof of the factory, they had already reached a height of thousands of feet in the glass elevator.

"Are you happy?"
