Chapter 304 A Steadfast Love is Like Stainless Steel

Gu Nian couldn't help but smile. He removed the first layer, revealing a fountain pen on the second. He said, "From now on, I'll use this pen to sign documents."

Upon opening the third layer, the gift inside momentarily made him think it was that thing.

He picked up the red booklet inside and read aloud the words: "Best Boyfriend Certificate." His dark eyes met her bright, sparkling eyes, his gaze intense: "Looking forward to next year when the five words become three."

On the fourth shelf, a pair of dragon-patterned underwear was neatly folded in the grid.

Luo Jianxing glanced at it and burst out laughing: "A-Nian and your cloak match very well."

Xiao Lü: "Tsk tsk... It's comparable to Miao Miao's 'Wishing You Prosperity' outfit."

Luo Shimiao quickly turned to look at it: "How did you know?"

"They fluttered in the wind on the balcony, dazzling and eye-catching. My eyes may be small, but I'm not blind."

She fell silent.

Looking at the four pairs of underwear that exuded "prestige," Gu Nian suddenly realized that the underwear Miao Miao had bought for him before was extremely nice.

"Don't you like it?" Luo Shimiao asked when she saw him staring at his underwear in silence.

"I like it, I'll wear it properly." Anyway, it's worn underneath, so no one else can see it except Miaomiao.

Luo Jianxing grinned mischievously, "A-Nian, when was the last time you lied?"

"just."

Luo Shimiao waved his hands and hit Luo Jianxing.

"Shouldn't you be hitting him?" Luo Jianxing hid behind Li Man.

"I can't bear to hit him, so I can only hit you."

In the midst of their playful banter, Gu Nian opened the fifth shelf, which was covered with rose petals. He picked up the ring box inside, his brow furrowing slightly: "Can I take this as you proposing to me?"

She had barely opened her mouth when he preemptively said, "I do."

"You've said everything."

Gu Nian slowly opened the ring box. It contained a pair of couple rings. He picked up the smaller ring, touched the Morse code inlaid with diamonds on it with his fingertip, and grinned from ear to ear.

He took her hand and gently pushed it onto his middle finger, making it just the right size: "Miaomiao, the box for a ring is called a ring box, so what should we call a box?"

Luo Shimiao picked up another ring and put it on his finger, pretending not to know, and asked, "What box?"

"A match made in heaven".

Gu Ming let out a hearty laugh: "You young people really know how to have fun."

Su Jingwen stepped into the house just in time to see the ring being put on, and exclaimed in surprise, "Our Anian proposed successfully! Such an important event, why didn't you wait for us? We missed it!"

"Mom, don't scare Miaomiao. This is a couple's ring, not an engagement ring."

She was taken aback, her smile froze, realizing it was a misunderstanding, and felt a little embarrassed.

"You two continue, your dad and I will go to the kitchen to see how the ingredients are prepared." She pulled Gu Chengyi towards the kitchen.

The last layer. Gu Nian rubbed his hands together, his eyes filled with anticipation as he removed the top shelf. Seeing what was on the last layer, he couldn't help but chuckle: "No wonder you're siblings."

Pick up the heavy stainless steel plate. On the silver, reflective steel plate, a sentence is printed, spanning across it like the arc of a rainbow.

Below is his name, "I love you" in bold and large font, and the name of the person who gave the gift in the bottom right corner.

He took a deep breath, looked at the words on it, and said: "A steadfast love is like stainless steel. Gu Nian, I love you. From Luo Shimiao."

“Miaomiao, I love you too.” Gu Nian looked through the steel plate: “Another family heirloom.”

Luo Shimiao: "Aren't our gifts very sincere?"

"Yes, I experienced it firsthand."

After the gifts were unwrapped, Gu Nian took them to play in the backyard.

A checkered picnic blanket was spread on the grass, and fruit, snacks, and desserts were laid out on a long table.

Luo Shimiao sat on the swing hill not far away, swinging her legs: "When I was little, my family used to have a swing in the yard, but unfortunately my dad had it demolished later."

Gu Nian stood behind her, pushing her gently, looking down at the top of her head, and asked softly, "Why?"

"What else could it be? It's just that she's frisky," Luo Jianxing said, walking over with a plate of cherries. "The rope was too short and too strong, preventing her from flying."

"Ah..." She looked at the bright red cherries and opened her mouth.

Luo Jianxing picked up one and casually tossed it out, and it landed precisely in her mouth.

One cherry after another fell into Luo Shimiao's little mouth, one feeding her while the other caught the pit.

Li Man lay comfortably on the soft grass, looking at the beautiful scene before her, and laughed, "A Luo, you're really like feeding monkeys in a zoo."

"Chirp chirp chirp..." Luo Shimiao imitated a monkey's call.

The intrusion of a figure shattered this beautiful atmosphere.

"Brother Anian." Xu Xiaoran ran along, carrying a pink tote bag.

Li Man turned around at the sound, her snow-white skirt meeting the amber eyes. Her gaze moved upward, and the joy on the newcomer's face was palpable.

She saw right through her thoughts at a glance, sat up, and said, "Miaomiao, your rival has arrived."

Luo Shimiao stopped abruptly, her foot touching the ground: "Brother Anian? He calls you even more affectionately than your high school classmate at the banquet."

Gu Nian saw her brow furrow and a hint of disgust flash across her eyes: "It seems that this time next year, I'll have to put up a sign at the front door that says no one is allowed to step into my house."

She raised an eyebrow, a little curious about what they had done to make Gu Nian dislike them so much.

“Brother Anian, it’s been a long time,” Xu Xiaoran walked up to Gu Nian, looked at her shyly, and handed her the handbag in her hand: “This is a scarf I knitted myself. Happy birthday.”

He didn't even glance at it, and said coldly, "I don't want to repeat what I said last year."
