The bride, Hu Jingjing, raised her chin and said, "I didn't expect you to actually come. Your courage is commendable."
The two men looked at her long black dress with rather unpleasant expressions.
Luo Shimiao leaned closer to Luo Min and said in a low voice, "I thought this former mistress was a beauty, but after seeing her today, she's just so-so. She's not even as pretty as my Xiao Lü."
Luo Min smiled faintly: "They rely on their financial power, not their looks."
"Is her family very rich?"
"My family owns a company, but I don't know the size of it, and I'm not interested in finding out."
The groom, Li Chengfeng, narrowed his eyes when he saw the young man next to Luo Min: "Luo Min, I thought you were just trying to save face, but I didn't expect you to actually bring your fiancé to our wedding."
"But I heard from my classmates that you haven't had a boyfriend all these years." Li Chengfeng looked at Yu Shulin meaningfully: "These days, renting a boyfriend is all the rage..."
"Does your wife know you're paying so much attention to me?" Luo Ming met his questioning gaze.
As soon as he finished speaking, the bride looked at him with displeasure.
Yu Shulin put his arm around Luo Min's shoulder, closing the distance between them, and said, "Uncle, you're not saying this because I'm more handsome and younger than you, are you?"
"After you get married, go to the hospital to get your hysteria treated."
"Pfft~" Luo Shimiao laughed as she looked at the groom's dark face.
"Sorry, I wasn't laughing at your age."
Luo Min raised her hand adorned with a diamond ring and tucked the hair that was hanging down her face behind her ear: "I'm 29 now, calling me 'uncle' isn't too much of a stretch."
Both of them noticed the dazzling ring on her hand.
Hu Jingjing's face turned extremely ugly, and she looked at her husband with resentment.
After a brief moment of surprise, Li Chengfeng smiled again: "I'm so glad you could come to our wedding. Please come in."
The three of them walked up to the bookkeeper, and Luo Min gestured to Yu Shulin with her eyes.
Yu Shulin and Luo Shimiao simultaneously emptied the contents of the black plastic bag onto the table.
One-cent coins clinked together, making a crisp sound.
The bookkeeper jumped up, staring blankly at the two piles of coins on the table, which looked like small mountains.
How the hell are we going to finish counting?!
Luo Min turned around and looked at the bride and groom with a smile, saying, "We're giving you four thousand coins as a token of our wish that your love will be as strong as steel."
Hu Jingjing forced a smile and said, "Thank you."
The three of them slowly walked into the wedding venue.
After they had walked away, Hu Jingjing complained, "I told you to buy a bigger wedding ring, but you wouldn't. Do you even love me?"
"Of course I love you. You know my financial situation. Once I earn money, I'll get you a bigger one."
"Cheer up, today is our big day, don't let people laugh at us."
"I'm a joke now!" she pouted, her resentment even more intense than that of a mass grave.
He muttered to himself, "It's all because you told me to invite her."
"Wow~ Who's that? She's so pretty."
Luo Shimiao became the focus of the entire room as soon as he sat down.
"My God! Luo Shimiao is also attending the wedding. What is her relationship with the bride and groom that they were able to invite her?"
Looking at the reactions of those around her, Luo Min laughed and said, "If I had known it would have this effect, I wouldn't have needed to bring Shulin here."
"Oh, my damn charm." Luo Shimiao raised her pinky finger and flicked her bangs.
Yu Shulin looked at him with disdain: "So affected!"
Just then, a group of girls arrived together. One of them looked at Luo Shimiao and asked, "Hello, can we take a picture with you?"
Luo Shimiao slowly stood up and smiled gently: "Of course."
Luo Min: "I'll take the photos for you."
The girl handed her the phone: "That's great, thank you for your help."
After Luo Shimiao's identity became known, people came to take photos with him one after another until the wedding was about to begin.
Luo Shimiao rubbed his face, which was stiff from smiling, took a big gulp of juice, exhaled a breath of stale air, and said, "The bride is probably going to hate me to death. I stole all her thunder."
"That's not your fault. If they hadn't agreed, I wouldn't have felt comfortable bringing you along," Luo Min said while scrolling through Weibo.
"You're trending on social media, and thankfully it's all praise."
They sat at a table with several elderly men, the table angled towards the stage, neither too close nor too far.
Yu Shulin was very bored, so he could only tease Xiao Lü.
The lights dimmed and music began to play softly in the arena.
A beam of light shone in the doorway, illuminating the bride who had changed into a pure white wedding dress.
Accompanied by music, the bride's father led her by the hand and slowly walked towards the groom in the center of the stage.
Luo Shimiao turned to look at Luo Min's profile and said with a mischievous smile, "Hey, what's it like to see your ex get married?"
"Two years have passed, what feelings could there be?" She looked at the bride's back and said indifferently, "He is good at sweet talk, it took me four years to see him for who he really is. She is only a few years older than you, she will regret it later."
The old man sitting next to her nodded when he heard her words, saying, "To be honest, I don't think much of this young man either. His appearance reflects his character, and he doesn't seem like a kind person."
Luo Min rolled up his coat sleeves, touched a scar about 3 centimeters long on his left forearm, and murmured, "Indeed."
The music ended and the lights came on.
Luo Shimiao noticed the scar on her hand and frowned, asking, "Did he hit you before?" She had seen the scar before, but hadn't thought much of it at the time.
“This was when I accidentally scratched him during an argument the night I discovered his infidelity. I loved him so much back then, I didn’t care.” She gave a self-deprecating smile: “Looking back now, I was so foolish.”
