"Jia Ping, what's wrong with your people? This is a place for self-cultivation, not for causing trouble!"
Damn it, she's such a troublemaker!
Bai Yunqing's agent spoke apologetically into the microphone.
"Director Pan, I'm so sorry, Yunqing hasn't been in a good mood lately. I'll talk to her about it."
"Okay, if you cause any more trouble, don't blame me for not giving you face." He hung up the phone immediately after saying that.
Jia Ping stared at the phone that had been hung up, her face clouded with anger. She had clearly been told before she went not to provoke Luo Shimiao, that impatient thing!
With a "bang," the phone was thrown onto the table.
She picked up the landline receiver: "Li Feifei, come to my office."
A minute later, the door was pushed open.
Li Feifei stood respectfully in front of her: "Sister Jia, what can I do for you?"
Jia Ping rubbed her temples and said, "Did you see the trending topics on Weibo?"
"I saw it. Should we hire some online trolls to add fuel to the fire?" She thought Jia Ping had called her in to talk about this.
"We do need to hire online trolls, but the reason I called you in is to send you to Bodhi Temple. Tell Yunqing that if she wants to make a comeback, she needs to stay calm, stop her underhanded tactics, and cherish this opportunity. Director Pan's complaint call just came to me."
"Okay, I'll set off now." Li Feifei turned around with a worried look on her face. Ever since that incident, Bai Yunqing's personality had changed. Whenever something went wrong, he would take it out on them.
Once, she was slapped for saying the wrong thing. As her assistant, she knew better than anyone the hatred Luo Shimiao harbored. Now, at this critical juncture, if she were to ask her to restrain herself, she would probably get another scolding.
Li Feifei walked out of the office with a worried look on her face. On her way to Bodhi Temple, Bai Yunqing caused trouble again.
Today's task is to weed the vegetable garden.
Luo Shimiao squatted on the ground, head down, diligently pulling weeds. Xiao Lü wasn't idle either; standing on the soft soil, she bit a blade of grass with her mouth and did her best to pull it out.
"You idiot!" Luo Shimiao slapped it on the head with a force that was neither too light nor too heavy.
Little Green spat out the grass in her mouth and said angrily, "I helped you with the chores and you still abused me! I'm calling the police!"
She picked up the "grass" that was almost broken in two from the ground and shoved it in its face: "Brother, this is a cucumber seedling!"
"How do you know it's a cucumber seedling? Maybe it just looks like one." Little Green's eyes darted around, and her voice grew softer and softer.
"Didn't Aunt Lin plant some time ago? You helped her dig the soil and fill the holes when she sowed the seeds. After they sprouted, you even went to the seedlings to rake them, saying you wanted to fertilize them. Don't you remember any of that?"
Little Green suddenly realized: "Sorry, accidental injury, accidental injury! See if it can still live if we put it back in."
Luo Shimiao casually tossed the cucumber seedling aside: "It won't survive."
"Ah!" A scream rang out.
The next second, a miniature green snake appeared on Luo Shimiao's left arm.
"Holy crap!" His face turned pale, and he waved his hand frantically, but the mini snake was tightly wrapped around his arm and he couldn't shake it off.
Luo Shimiao was frantic, pacing around in circles: "Help! Someone help me get the 'jade bracelet' off!" Luckily, her Zen robe had long sleeves, otherwise, if it had come into direct contact with her skin, she probably would have fainted on the spot.
Hao Yun rushed over, trying to grab the snake's tail, but was stopped by Luo Shimiao.
"You can't catch it empty-handed, in case it turns around and bites you."
She stamped her foot anxiously: "What should we do?"
When Xu Xingliang saw the loofah trellis made of sticks, he had an idea: "Hold on a little longer, I'll go get a stick."
Seeing Luo Shimiao's pale face, Little Green forgot its fear and flew up to bite the snake's head with lightning speed, just one centimeter away.
Using all his strength, he pulled the snake off and spat it to the side.
"Waaaaah, my mouth is dirty!" Little Green buried her head in Luo Shimiao's arms, her loud cries echoing throughout the vegetable garden.
"Alright, alright, don't cry, don't cry. You're much braver than me, that's great!" Luo Shimiao stroked its feathers, gently comforting it, feeling a surge of emotion.
"I'll brush your teeth in a bit, and I'll make sure they're spotless."
Little Green sobbed, "Okay."
Xu Xingliang saw the snake that Xiao Lü had thrown on the ground crawl away, so he stopped trying to pull out the stick.
Just now, in the midst of the chaos, Bai Yunqing avoided the camera and revealed a vengeful, triumphant smile.
The camera didn't capture it, but Cao Lu saw it.
This scene made Cao Lu despise Bai Yunqing even more. She also disliked Luo Shimiao, but she never intended to harm anyone. If it had been a larger, highly venomous snake, Luo Shimiao would definitely have been bitten.
Without the antiserum in the mountains, someone could easily die. How wicked! Bai Yunqing has probably gone mad.
After calming Xiao Lü down, Luo Shimiao's gaze swept across every face on the scene, his expression revealing neither joy nor anger.
"Where did that cute little thing come from?"
Everyone's eyes turned to Bai Yunqing.
Upon seeing this, Bai Yunqing clasped her hands together, bowed her head, and apologized: "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to."
“I saw grass next to the lettuce and was pulling it up when the snake suddenly fell onto the back of my hand. In a panic, I just wanted to shake it off. I really didn’t expect it to hit you.”
Luo Shimiao gestured the distance between them: "You're really amazing. You can throw it right here from this distance. Why don't you go participate in the pitch-pot competition?"
There were several plots of land between each person and one end, and they were standing at an angle. It's incredibly lucky that they managed to hit the target.
"I know you won't believe me, but I really, really didn't mean it. If you think an apology isn't enough, I'll go find that little snake and have you throw it back."
