The two took a taxi directly to the ceramics museum.
The photographer didn't follow; the director gave them a few hours of free time, saying there was something even more fun waiting for them in the afternoon.
Twenty minutes later, the two appeared in front of the ceramics store. The store manager recognized them as soon as they stepped inside.
The store manager said enthusiastically, "Come on in for the coloring, I'll go get it for you right away."
Looking at the ceramic paint on the table, Luo Shimiao asked Gu Nian, "What's your favorite color?"
"Blue, and you, yellow?"
Luo Shimiao's eyes flashed. Was she overthinking it? Why did she feel like he was saying something with a double meaning?
Luo Shimiao said, "The color of the banknotes."
Gu Nian raised an eyebrow, then, as if thinking of something, a smile appeared on his lips: "How about I use white as the background, then write 'Wishing you prosperity' and 'May wealth flow in,' and draw gold ingots on it? What do you think? Do you like it?"
His fair fingers twisted his waist: "Please, forget about it, just pretend you never saw it."
A low laugh rang in Luo Shimiao's ears.
"The impression was too deep to forget."
Little Green jumped off Luo Shimiao's shoulder and circled the cup, saying, "Cup, cup, I want one too!"
Luo Shimiao said without any politeness, "Go cool off somewhere else!"
Little Green: "Cup, cup!"
"What would you need a cup for, with your small frame? To take a bath?"
Seeing that Luo Shimiao disagreed, Xiao Lü jumped onto Luo Shimiao's shoulder and head, repeatedly saying "cup".
Luo Shimiao was exasperated. Who would send her a wire? She wanted to tie that damned bird's beak up.
Ten minutes later, Luo Shimiao stood there expressionless, holding miniature cups, saucers, bowls, and even a five-compartment platter.
Xiao Lü lay on Gu Nian's lap, watching quietly, as if she had taken a mute drug, and did not say a word throughout the entire process.
Gu Nian looked at the girl with doting eyes, his gaze filled with tenderness.
