Chapter 101 Snow

It was almost noon when Li Zhao and Yan Ting came downstairs.

Li Zhao lay on the sofa, whining and not wanting to eat. Finally, he didn't know what Yan Ting said in his ear. Li Zhao reached out and poked Yan Ting's waist, then sat down at the dining table.

Seeing this scene, the chef asked the housekeeper: "The meal I cooked today is not to your liking?"

In the past, even if she cooked a pot of porridge, Mr. Li would eat half of it. Why doesn’t he want to eat today?

"Ahem." The housekeeper coughed a few times, "Mr. Li is joking with Mr. Li. They will have dinner soon."

"That's what I said. Mr. Li has always been a good kid. Unlike you, my dear, you still need Mr. Li to coax you when you eat."

The housekeeper looked at the kitchen aunt silently and said, "You may have forgotten that you get your salary from your husband."

It’s no wonder that the housekeepers are partial to Li Zhao. Not only does Li Zhao have a face that is pleasing to the elders, but he also has a likable personality. Ever since he moved in, the whole yard has become lively.

What everyone fears most now is that Mr. Li will be away from home for too long. When Mr. Li is away for a long time, he will become quiet and the whole house will become lifeless.

Now that the final exams are over, it’s winter vacation time. With Mr. Li by his side, he can be happy again.

After lunch, Li Zhao took a nap and Yan Ting sent him to school.

The kitchen aunt put the cooked food that had been prepared long ago in an oversized thermos bucket for Li Zhao. When Li Zhao picked it up, he suspected that the bucket must have weighed more than ten pounds.

There was snow on the road, so the driver drove a non-skid car out of the garage.

"During the exam days, should I ask the driver to bring you food?"

"No, I'll just eat with my classmates." Li Zhao lay on Yan Ting's thighs and said lazily, "Let's go to the study room to review in the evening."

"Your body..."

"Let's change the subject."

"Okay." Yan Ting rubbed Li Zhao's waist, "Wait until your final exam is over, I'll pick you up?"

Li Zhao did not refuse.

Before getting off the car, Yan Ting put the scarf and hat on Li Zhao: "It's cold outside, and there's snow on the ground. Be careful not to fall."

Li Zhao took off his mask and kissed Yan Ting on the face: "Wait for me to come back."

When he opened the door, a cold wind blew in. Li Zhao was afraid that Yan Ting would be cold, so he quickly closed the door, waved to Yan Ting outside the car window, and turned to run towards the dormitory building.

Yan Ting looked at him swaying left and right in the snow like a little duck, opened the car window a crack, revealing a pair of gentle eyes.

Li Zhao ran downstairs to the dormitory building and saw two people squatting and shivering next to the flower bed. One of them saw him running over and tried to stand up excitedly, but ended up falling into the snow.

Li Zhao recognized that the two of them were reporters. He hesitated for a moment, sighed, and then walked forward to help the other reporter and lifted the fallen reporter up.

The two reporters looked very young, with a hint of immaturity in their eyes and eyebrows.

"Thank you." The reporter who was helped up was covered in snow. He didn't bother to brush off the snow and said hurriedly: "Hello, Li Zhao, can you accept an interview with us?"

"It's so cold, why are you standing here?" Li Zhao saw that the two men were so cold that their faces turned purple. He didn't know how long they had been waiting here. "How long have you been waiting?"

"We started waiting this morning." The two men laughed tremblingly.

"Have you ever thought about what would happen if I didn't come to school today and waited until tomorrow for the exam to start and went straight to school?"

"You have to try your luck." The two reporters continued to laugh.

Li Zhao looked around and pointed to a place that could be covered by snow. "Wait for me there for a while. I'll put the thermos away and come down."

The two reporters nodded quickly, and after Li Zhao went upstairs, they excitedly called the editor-in-chief and said that not only had they found Li Zhao, but he had also agreed to be interviewed by them.

"Then start recording now and record his life in school." The editor-in-chief was delighted.

"But, but he's back in the dormitory now. He said he'll come down after he puts his things away."

The editor-in-chief was furious: "You believe this?! They are just teasing you two. If you don't believe me, just wait downstairs and see if Li Zhao will come down to deal with you two!"

The two reporters were newly hired interns and had no idea that the artists had so many deceptive tricks. Listening to the director's roar, they felt aggrieved and sad.

Did Li Zhao really lie to them?

Is this really just an excuse you made up to get away?

After waiting for five minutes, they began to feel a little nervous.

Ten minutes passed, they were already in despair and even wanted to cry. Just when they gave up hope, Li Zhao ran out of the dormitory building.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting for so long." Li Zhao ran up to the two of them. "Someone in the dormitory just asked me a question, which delayed me for a few minutes."

The moment they saw Li Zhao appear, the two trainee reporters almost cried. This feeling of despair and hope saved them.

"There is a coffee shop on campus, but if we go there for an interview, it will disturb other students." Li Zhao wrapped his scarf tightly and put his hands in the pockets of his down jacket. "If you two don't mind, I'd like you to sit in a coffee shop outside the school. There are private rooms over there."

The reporters were so cold that their noses were almost covered with snot bubbles. They nodded repeatedly and said that as long as Li Zhao was willing to accept their interview, they would do so even in the open air.

"Teacher Li Zhao, we would like to take a video of you walking from school to campus. Is that okay?"

"You can do whatever you want, but the road is very slippery today, so be careful not to fall. Also, please try not to let other students enter the camera. If you do, please blur their faces in post-production."

"Okay, okay, no problem." The reporter put the portable camera on his shoulder.

The snow on the road was a bit thick. Li Zhao walked in front at a slow pace, occasionally introducing the school buildings to reporters.

Along the way, classmates greeted Li Zhao from time to time.

"Li Xiaozhao, why don't you go to the study room tonight? I'll save a seat for you."

"I'll be with my buddies in the dormitory tonight." Li Zhao took off his mask. "It's so cold, you should go home early."

"Okay." The classmate asked, "Did you bring some delicious food again? I'll go to your dormitory and eat for free."

"Then you have to hurry up, otherwise it will be gone." As soon as Li Zhao finished speaking, he saw the classmate who was slow just now suddenly started running in small steps.

The student in front had just left, and within a few steps other students greeted Li Zhao.

Some asked Li Zhao to borrow his notes, some asked him to have dinner together after the exam, and some even stuffed a bag of snacks into Li Zhao's pocket. These classmates had a very casual attitude. In their eyes, Li Zhao was just a buddy, not a star.

"Zhao Zhao, you seem to be very popular in school?"

"It's okay." Li Zhao explained, "It's mainly because everyone has a good personality and takes good care of me."

The reporter saw Li Zhao opening the snacks given by his classmates and starting to eat them, and couldn't help but ask again: "Do you avoid certain foods when you eat with your classmates?"

"The food in the school cafeteria is pretty good, and I don't usually avoid certain foods." Li Zhao smiled, "I've said in interviews before that I like to eat chicken legs. When I eat with my classmates, they always give me chicken legs whenever they have a disagreement."

"Do you often eat in the cafeteria with your classmates?"

"If not the cafeteria, where can I eat?" Li Zhao threw the garbage bag of snacks into the trash can. "I am usually busy with schoolwork, so eating in the cafeteria can save me a lot of time..."

"Li Zhao."

The reporter heard someone calling Li Zhao, turned his head and saw a man in his fifties or sixties standing under the library building. He was wearing glasses and had neatly combed hair. He looked very gentle and elegant.

"Professor." Li Zhao ran up to the man and asked with a smile, "You called me?"

"It's snowing so heavily. Where are you going?" The professor reached out and brushed the snow off Li Zhao's shoulders. He glanced at the reporters who were taking pictures behind Li Zhao and nodded to them.

The two reporters smiled back with trepidation. Li Zhao called this man a professor. Could he be a professor from Peking University?

"Two journalist friends want to interview me, so I'll take them to a quiet place outside." Li Zhao stamped his feet, feeling the coldness on his toes.

"Why are you going so far? Aren't you going to review?" The professor frowned. "Well, bring them to my office."

"Hehehe." Li Zhao did not reject the professor's kindness. "Thank you, professor. When I choose courses in my sophomore year, I will definitely take your course."

"You'll have a bright future. Wait until you can take my class first." The professor also brushed the snow off Li Zhao's other shoulder.

"Then please open a backdoor for me." Li Zhao helped the professor carry the books, "Try to make me your favorite student."

"No," the professor said coldly.

"Why?"

"Because the camera is filming it, I promise you, I will leave evidence." The professor took Li Zhao towards his office. He was a humorous and elegant man, very popular in the school. In order to get his class, students stayed in front of the computer late at night.

The two reporters did not expect that the professor from Kyoto University actually took them to his office and poured them two glasses of water.

"Reporter friend, if you have any questions, please ask them in a polite way. Don't lead the child into a ditch." The professor put a mug in Li Zhao's hand. "After the interview, go back to read."

"Okay." Li Zhao held the cup and smiled widely, then took off his down jacket, scarf, hat and mask.

This professor was not Li Zhao's teacher. The two met while jogging in the morning. Because both of them had the habit of running in the morning, Li Zhao became a running buddy with the professor when he was in school, and they became familiar with each other after a few times.

The professor's wife is a dramatist and is very famous in the drama world. Sometimes, she would come to the playground to practice her body movements. Every time she saw Li Zhao, she would sigh and say that it was a pity that if he had started learning opera since he was a child, he might have become famous in the opera world now.

"Professor?" Li Zhao noticed that the professor was staring at his neck. Thinking that his thermal underwear was exposed, he quickly pulled the collar of his sweater.

The professor smiled and said, "Just read the book and review it."

He walked to the small lounge next to it and considerately helped Li Zhao close the door.

After the interview officially started, the two intern reporters asked two standard questions at first. As the topic became more in-depth, their questions gradually became gossipy.

"Many friends online are curious about your tycoon friend who is being demolished. Would you like to tell us about him?"

Li Zhao glanced at the reporter silently. Are netizens curious about his rich friend, or are they curious about his CP story with the rich man who was relocated from a demolition project?

The reporter avoided Li Zhao's sight guiltily.

With a chuckle, Li Zhao said, "He is an outsider. I don't want to introduce too much to him and cause trouble to his life. But he is a very good and lovely person."

The reporter blinked. Is that it?

Li Zhao motioned for them to ask the next question.

"Some netizens are very curious about your friendship with the boss of Cang Huan Head Office. Are you really friends with him as the rumors on the Internet say?"

Li Zhao glanced at the reporter again.

How many CP topics related to him did these two trainee reporters pay attention to in private?

The author has something to say: The River God asked Zhao Zhao: Jin Tingting and Yin Tingting, which Tingting do you like?

Baby Zhaozhao: I like Yan Tingting.
