Chapter 25 "Come in."
In the study, the rustling sound of writing stopped.
But Jiang Hui did not hear any footsteps.
After a long moment, the man in the room spoke in a voice devoid of emotion: "Since she has made her own choice, there is no need to interfere."
Jiang Hui scratched his head, not knowing what to do for a moment.
He actually thought that the Second Lady was a nice person. Although he did have a prejudice against her at the beginning, after getting along with her, he could see that the Second Lady was not the timid and bullying woman as rumored.
——What bad intentions could the second lady, who can make delicious snacks, have?
I just went to the kitchen, Hongyao took the lunch box, and looked like she was about to cry.
"The accountant said a lot of nasty things, but the girl couldn't fire him, so she had to endure it. What's more, his teaching was not good at all. It was obvious that I didn't explain it clearly. If the girl asked one more question, he would get angry and say he would not continue!"
"The girl hasn't eaten a single bite since early morning. She just recovered from a cold and is weak, but that gentleman has ignored her and given her no attention at all!"
Jiang Hui didn't know how to comfort her. After all, this was the man chosen by the Second Lady herself, and no one had the right to drive him away.
Sighing, Jiang Hui had no choice but to wait outside the study, and occasionally go to the west courtyard to take a look.
The night watchman outside sounded the gong three times.
The light in Rong Jianxue's study was still on.
Just now Jiang Hui went to the west courtyard to take another look, and the accountant finally shook his head and left Rong Mansion.
Back in the East Courtyard, Jiang Hui stood outside the study and whispered, "Sir, the accountant just left."
In the study, the man said "hmm".
The candle flame flickered twice, and the candle in the study finally went out.
Jiang Hui breathed a sigh of relief: It seems that the master is going to rest in the study tonight.
He also yawned, stretched his muscles, and prepared to go back to his room to rest.
After taking only two steps, Jiang Hui saw the woman slowly approaching the courtyard gate.
"Second Madam? Why are you here?"
Jiang Hui's sleepiness disappeared completely, and he walked into the courtyard to meet Pei Jingxu.
Pei Jingxu was holding a few schoolbooks in his hands. His face was pale and his voice was weak: "Guard Jiang, has the master gone to bed?"
"Ah, Master, he—"
"What is it?"
Turning around, she saw that Rong Jianxue had put on a coat and was standing at the entrance of the study, looking at her with a cold look.
Seeing Rong Jianxue, Pei Jingxu hugged the book and bowed slightly: "Sir, did I disturb your rest?"
"I have a lot of official business today and haven't rested yet."
Pei Jingxu bit her lip and spoke cautiously, "Teacher taught me something today, and I...I'm too stupid to understand. Teacher doesn't want to explain it a second time, so I wanted to ask if you have time..."
The evening breeze blew up the man's loose robe.
He was still standing there. The light in the study flickered twice, and his shadow jumped with it.
Seeing the man remained silent, Pei Jingxu lowered her head even lower, the tips of her ears slightly reddening, as if she was extremely ashamed: "If, if your Excellency is busy with official business, then I will not disturb you..."
Having said that, Pei Jingxu turned around and was about to leave.
"Come in."
The raised step stopped and retracted.
Jiang Hui widened his eyes and looked at Rong Jianxue in disbelief, thinking for a moment that he had misheard!
Pei Jingxu also raised her eyes to look at the man under the light. She shook her head a little nervously: "I can ask for advice in the courtyard."
The long wind blew through the man's long hair. His hair was loose, and the soft hair hung on his shoulders, neutralizing his sharpness.
He didn't say anything else, just closed the door and sat back at the desk.
Seeing this, Pei Jingxu cast a puzzled look at Jiang Hui.
Jiang Hui hurriedly took Pei Jingxu to the study and whispered, "Second Madam, the Master wants you to come in."
After looking at Jiang Hui with some hesitation and preparing himself mentally for a long time, Pei Jingxu took a deep breath and finally gently pushed open the half-closed door.
The candlelight in the room fell on her.
Pei Jingxu pinched the book in her hand, lifted the hem of her skirt with one hand, and said softly, "Then I'm sorry to bother you, sir."
As she spoke, she lifted her foot, stepped over the threshold, and then walked into the man's study step by step.
The abstinent scent of agarwood comes towards you, it is not strong, but it can make people calm down and concentrate.
Pei Jingxu seemed a little restrained as he stood in front of Rong Jianxue, not knowing what to do for a moment.
The man at the desk looked calm. He glanced at her calmly and pointed to the spot beside him: "Aren't you here to ask questions?"
"Ah...yes."
Pei Jingxu tiptoed to the side of the table and sat to the right of Rong Jianxue.
The table was long, and Rong Jianxue always sat in the main seat, leaving the narrower side for Pei Jingxu.
"here."
Pei Jingxu opened the book in his hand and handed it over, pointing to a sentence and asking carefully.
Rong Jianxue glanced at the book and realized something. He frowned slightly and picked it up to check.
"You've already learned the Four Pillars Inventory in just one day today?"
Pei Jingxu was stunned for a moment, as if he didn't understand what Rong Jianxue meant: "These... can't I learn?"
Rong Jianxue put down the book and said in a slightly cold voice, "The Four Pillars Account Book, the Dragon Gate Account Book, and the Lame Account Book are all relatively obscure and difficult to understand. Is your progress so fast on your first day today?"
Pei Jingxu bit her lip and said nothing.
"So, have you learned the basics of managing old employees, recruiting new employees, and expelling new employees?"
Pei Jingxu blinked her beautiful eyes a few times, and then shook her head slowly: "Teacher... didn't teach these."
Rong Jianxue took a deep breath and threw the textbook on the table.
He chuckled, a cold look flashing in his eyes. "So, this gentleman you went to so much trouble to invite didn't teach you the most basic accounting techniques, but instead taught you these obscure and obscure things?"
Pei Jingxu understood.
She slowly lowered her head and said, "I'm sorry, sir, for taking up your time."
As she spoke, she reached out to take the textbook.
A hand pressed down on the book, stopping her movement.
Rong Jianxue's face was stern and his tone was deep, "Where on earth did you hire this accountant from? Just from the fact that he taught you the Four Pillars of Income Book, I knew he wasn't very skilled."
Pei Jingxu lowered his head and did not answer.
The man's thin lips formed a straight line. "Since you don't know how to choose a teacher, why don't you ask me? You've been studying all this abstruse stuff all day, and now you don't understand and you think of me?"
She stopped talking again.
Just like last time, she just lowered her head and refused to answer him.
The Buddhist beads on my wrist started to get hot again.
Rong Jianxue closed her eyes slightly and tried to soften her tone: "Look up and talk to me."
But he didn't wait for her to look up.
What came before she raised her head was a tear.
When she lowered her head, a tear fell without warning and landed on the back of his hand that was knocking on the table.
He suddenly clenched his five fingers together, and the Buddhist beads in his sleeves collided with each other, making a sparse muffled sound.
The study door was open, and the night wind carried flower petals into the room, leaving only a gust of floral fragrance before he could even resist.
It's light and itchy, and even hotter than the Buddhist beads on your wrist.
The candlelight in the study made a few crackling sounds, which were particularly clear.
——She cried again.
