Chapter 132 Aren't you going to thank me today?

Gu Baiwei hesitated, after all, it was a matter of life and death.

"Xiao Gu, I'm begging you. There are so many people in the crew. If we have to stop work to investigate, the losses will be huge every day. Besides, the person has been missing for less than 24 hours. Even if we report it to the police, they can't accept the case."

Based on the timeline, Su Peipei should have gone missing between 3 pm and 5 pm yesterday. It's only 9 am now, which is indeed not enough time to file a case.

"Okay, I'll ask him."

Gu Baiwei agreed and immediately dialed Shen Yanqing's number.

Before the phone could even ring, the wailing of the Su couple could be heard again from inside the hotel.

"I'll go check on the situation first. Xiao Gu, please contact President Chen as soon as possible. Thank you."

Director Chen finished speaking hastily, turned around and ran into the hotel. At the same time, the phone call was connected, and Shen Yanqing's gentle voice came from the other end.

"Yan Qing, are you free now?"

Gu Baiwei asked hurriedly.

Shen Yanqing raised her hand to make a shushing gesture, and everyone in the meeting room immediately muted their microphones.

They stared at each other, wondering what President Shen was up to.

Could it be that an important client is calling?

"convenient."

Shen Yanqing's icy gaze swept over the people around him, but his tone was gentler than ever before.

Seeing the horrified looks on everyone's faces, he raised an eyebrow, unconcerned: "What is it?"

Gu Baiwei briefly recounted Su Peipei's disappearance. Upon hearing that she had contacted him because of that annoying woman, Shen Yanqing's expression darkened for a moment.

The air pressure in the office immediately dropped to zero degrees Celsius.

"Yan Qing, can you help? Her parents have already come to the film crew."

Gu Baiwei asked him cautiously.

"No problem, wait for my message."

Hearing him agree so readily, Gu Baiwei instinctively wanted to say thank you, but then she suddenly remembered the scene after she said thank you yesterday, and her face immediately flushed. She swallowed the two words that were about to come out.

Shen Yanqing's deep, magnetic voice came through the receiver: "What, aren't you going to thank me today?"

A pleased smile curved his lips, and his expression softened considerably from the grim look that had appeared on his face during the meeting.

"Thanks."

Gu Baiwei blushed and quickly finished speaking before hanging up the phone, afraid that he might say something inappropriate.

Shen Yanqing's smile widened, but amidst the astonished expressions of the crowd, his face quickly turned cold: "I need to see a satisfactory solution within an hour."

After saying that, he stood up, opened the door, and strode out.

As soon as he stepped outside, he instructed Big Head, who was guarding him, "Find someone for me..."

Su Peipei woke up from her coma. A bright incandescent light was swaying above her head, so bright that she could hardly open her eyes.

Her gaze slowly focused, and she met a familiar face: "Guo Hua? What are you doing here? Quick, someone has kidnapped me, help me."

Guo Hua sat in the chair opposite her, coldly watching her without moving.

The expression on his face was different from his usual honest and simple demeanor; instead, it carried a strange smile.

Upon seeing what he was holding, Su Peipei felt her throat go dry, and her voice trembled as she asked, "Guo Hua, it's you...you kidnapped me?"

Guo Hua stood up, toying with a dagger in his hand, and slowly approached her.

The stark white light cast his shadow long across the ground. In the flickering light, he approached step by step, his voice hoarse: "Now, you can never leave me again..."

“My daughter, why are you so unlucky? You finally grew up and became successful, and then you died while filming a movie. How are we supposed to live now…”

Inside the hotel, Liu Guifang sat on the floor, wailing inconsolably.

The town is only so big, and her loud wails could be heard in almost half of the town.

Soon a large crowd of onlookers gathered at the entrance.

The group of middle-aged women kept peering inside. If Liu Yan hadn't been blocking the door, they would have loved to squeeze in and watch the spectacle.

"What happened? Who's missing?"

"Not missing..."

"What? Someone's dead?"

"That's right, they say a woman who came to film a movie was killed on set."

"Is it because of the unspoken rules of directors? I see this all over the news..."

The villagers who were watching were discussing the matter extensively, and the content of their discussions was becoming increasingly outrageous.

Director Chen was exasperated, scratching his sparse hairs anxiously as he looked at Gu Baiwei: "Gu, how is it? Is there any news from Mr. Shen?"

Gu Baiwei glanced at her phone; only a little over half an hour had passed. How could it have been so fast?

Just as he was about to speak, his phone rang. It was Shen Yanqing calling.

She pressed the answer button, and Shen Yanqing's cold, deep voice quickly came from the other end of the line: "Found it."

Shen Yanqing hung up the phone, looked up coldly in a certain direction, and nodded.

With a bang, the old door was kicked open. Before Guo Hua could react, several well-trained bodyguards in black rushed into the room.

Guo Hua was startled and grabbed a dagger to stab, but was kicked away by the leader, Da Tou.

Immediately afterwards, another bodyguard leaped forward, grabbed Guo Hua's arm, twisted it backward forcefully, and slammed him to the ground with a bang.

"ah!"

The sudden turn of events also startled Su Peipei, causing her to scream.

The bodyguards then noticed Su Peipei curled up on the ground, her clothes disheveled.

Her body was covered in bruises and welts, and her clothes were torn to shreds, as if they had been violently ripped, offering no cover whatsoever.

Upon seeing the woman's bare skin, Da Tou immediately looked away, took off his coat, and draped it over Su Peipei.

Su Peipei wrapped herself tightly in the oversized suit jacket. The jacket was large and had a faint smell of sweat, but she didn't find it disgusting.

Big Head got up to leave, but a hand grabbed the hem of his shirt: "My foot is injured, can you help me?"

After a moment of silence, Big Head bent down and picked the person up from the ground, his gaze fixed straight ahead, never once falling on the person in his arms.

His dark face seemed to have a faint blush, but it wasn't very noticeable because of his dark skin tone.

The moment he stepped out of the room, sunlight shone on the man.

Strong, muscular arms, a solid chest, and muscles hidden beneath his shirt that were hard and explosive.

Su Peipei couldn't help but look up at him. This man was unlike any of the men she had ever met before. When his gaze fell on her, it was so naked, as if he wanted to strip her naked.

Just now, he only glanced at her and his face turned red. He looked fierce but also innocently cute.

The corners of her lips curved slightly, then quickly fell back, her eyes lowered; it was a pity she was just a bodyguard with no future.

...

Soon, Guo Hua was packed up and taken directly to the police station, while Su Peipei was taken back to the hotel by Da Tou.

When they returned, Su Jianguo and Liu Guifang were still loudly demanding that Director Chen pay them compensation.

Turning my head, I saw their daughter being carried in by a tall, burly man.

Upon seeing Su Peipei's appearance, the two immediately understood what had happened.

They exchanged a glance, and Liu Guifang was the first to rush forward: "So, you're the one who bullied our daughter, aren't you?"
