Chapter 145 Her Amnesia May Not Be an Accident

When she got closer, she could clearly smell the faint scent of blood on him.

"elder sister?"

Seeing that she didn't move, Qi Yu couldn't help but call out. Gu Baiwei snapped back to reality and deliberately frowned, "This medicine smells so bitter, it must taste awful..."

As she spoke, she pouted, looking quite aggrieved.

"You, a grown adult, are still so afraid of taking medicine."

Qi Yu smiled and took out a few pieces of fruit candy from her jeans pocket: "I have candy here, you can have it all after you finish drinking."

Gu Baiwei chuckled: "I'm not a child."

"Drink it quickly, the medicine is getting cold."

Qi Yu kept his eyes fixed on her, as if trying to read something from her face.

Although Gu Baiwei has amnesia, she is not stupid.

Qi Yu appeared concerned, but her gaze was actually full of inquiry.

She even suspected that her amnesia might not be an accident, but rather something deliberate, and most likely related to Qi Yu in front of her.

Although she didn't understand why he did this, subconsciously she knew that no matter why he treated her this way, she had to continue pretending.

So, as usual, she frowned, picked up the medicine bowl, and after only taking a sip, hurriedly urged, "It's so bitter, add sugar."

As she spoke, she stuck out her pink tongue, which was covered in medicine, and fanned herself with her palm, as if that would make it less bitter.

Qi Yu stared at her for a few seconds, then smiled indulgently and placed a fruit candy with its wrapper unwrapped on her tongue.

A sweet taste, with a hint of orange, came to her tongue. Gu Baiwei narrowed her eyes, rolled her tongue, and the fruit candy was rolled into her mouth.

Qi Yu chuckled and ruffled her hair: "Still saying you're not a child?"

The wariness in his eyes gradually faded, leaving only doting tenderness, at least on the surface.

By the time Gu Baiwei had finished drinking a bowl of medicine, he had already eaten all the fruit candies in his hand.

Qi Yu picked up the empty bowl, her smile still gentle: "I'll go wash the dishes. Sister, go to bed early. Call me if you need anything."

As he spoke, he gently covered her with a thin blanket.

It's almost autumn, and the fishing village is located by the sea, so it's still a bit chilly at night.

He picked up the bowl, went out, and considerately closed the door behind him.

Gu Baiwei listened quietly to the footsteps fading away outside the door until she heard the sound of running water in the kitchen. Only then did she tiptoe out of bed and frantically try to pick her throat towards the trash can.

Soon, she vomited up most of the medicine she had just drunk. She crumpled up a few pieces of paper and threw them into the trash can to absorb the vomit. She then threw some unwanted things on top to cover it up before quietly returning to bed and lying down.

Just as I closed my eyes to doze off, I suddenly heard soft footsteps outside the door.

Gu Baiwei immediately closed her eyes and tried to keep her breathing steady.

With a click, the door was pushed open from the outside. Qi Yu's gaze swept around and finally landed on the person sleeping on the bed.

As night deepened, the night was cloudy, with only a few pale rays of moonlight shining through the window onto the bed.

The window was ajar, and a breeze slipped in through the crack, causing the light pink curtains to billow slightly.

Gu Baiwei pretended to turn over, but as soon as she did, she noticed a breathing sound coming from behind her.

The bed trembled slightly, and Qi Yu's gentle voice came from behind, carrying a hint of eeriness in the darkness: "Sister, are you asleep?"

Gu Baiwei's heart pounded with nervousness, but she forced herself to remain silent.

Cool fingers gently caressed her cheek with a touch of fascination, tracing the contours of her slender neck, tightening slightly before releasing the pressure after a few seconds.

Qi Yu stared at the slender figure on the bed for a few seconds, then reached out to tidy up the blanket on her body before getting up and leaving.

The moment the door closed, Gu Baiwei finally felt a huge weight lifted from her chest.

Now she was absolutely certain that something was wrong with Qi Yu, and very wrong at that.

The next morning, Qi Yu prepared breakfast and went out to sea to fish with the fishermen in the village.

When Gu Baiwei got up, he had already left for a while. On the table was a bowl of steaming congee with preserved egg and lean pork, a plate of stir-fried shredded potatoes, and a scallion and egg pancake.

It's obvious that she got up very early and prepared carefully.

If she hadn't suddenly recalled some vague memories, she probably would have thought that Qi Yu was a younger brother who truly doted on his older sister.

Now that she saw this person, she found him strange in every way. She even began to wonder if he was possessed or something like that in TV dramas.

In my memory, Qi Yu was introverted when she was a child, but she was very attached to her and would share any good food she had with her.

What exactly caused that shy and timid boy to become like this?

She looked out the window at the sea; the fishing boats that had been out fishing that morning had already set sail.

Without touching the breakfast on the table, she turned and walked to Qi Yu's room, took a deep breath, and pushed the door open.

The room was simply furnished with only a metal-framed bed covered with a gray sheet, a desk, and a chair. There were no decorations on the walls, and the whole room felt cold and impersonal, unlike her own room which was decorated with care.

She walked around the room, went to the table, and reached out to open the drawer, but it was locked.

This further convinced Gu Baiwei that there must be something in the drawer.

She left the room and quickly returned with a wire. She tried to poke the wire little by little into the keyhole, fiddled with it a couple of times, and then pulled hard on the drawer, but it remained unmoved.

On TV, it looks so easy for other people to unlock doors, but it's so difficult for her.

She tried to open it a couple more times, but still couldn't get it open. Dejected, she walked out of the room and sat down at the dining table to think of a solution.

Just then, there was a knock on the door.

She froze for a moment, then stood up nervously. Had Qi Yu returned so quickly?

Just then, a clear male voice came from the doorway.

"Hello, is this Miss Qi's home?"

The voice sounded unfamiliar, so Gu Baiwei stood warily at the door and looked out through the peephole. She saw a refined-looking man in a white shirt and black suit pants standing outside the door, and he looked somewhat familiar.

Gu Baiwei thought for a while before she remembered that this was the reporter who came to interview her yesterday.

I don’t know if it was because of that accident, but she has a very bad memory. She often can’t remember things that happened the day before.

This time, surprisingly, he still remembered what happened yesterday.

Not knowing why he had come to find her, Gu Baiwei cautiously did not open the door, but asked through the door, "I am Qi Yue, may I ask what you need?"

After Qin Yizhou checked into a hotel in town yesterday, he couldn't stop thinking about Gu Baiwei. Today, when he saw Qi Yu going out to sea on a fishing boat, he couldn't wait to ask for directions and come over.

"Ms. Qi, hello. I'm the reporter who did the interview yesterday. I'd like to learn more about the local situation from you. Would it be convenient for you to open the door?"
