Chapter Five: Sending My Daughter to School

"I have nothing to talk to you about!"

Ye Chuyue slammed the door shut. Gu Baiwei was disappointed but didn't care. Looking at the closed door, she secretly made up her mind that she would make the little girl open her heart to her sooner or later.

The next morning, Gu Baiwei got up early to make breakfast for the brother and sister.

Besides making potato pancakes, the only other things she knows how to make are fried eggs and toasted bread slices. Paired with a glass of milk, a simple and nutritious breakfast is ready.

She took a deep breath and sat down at the dining table to wait. It wasn't until after eight o'clock that Ye Chuyue came down from upstairs in a slouching manner, carrying her schoolbag.

"Good morning, Yueyue!"

Gu Baiwei greeted her warmly, but Ye Chuyue glanced at her without paying any attention to her. She simply slung her backpack over her shoulder and slowly walked towards the door.

"Wait, Yueyue, finish your breakfast before you go."

Gu Baiwei hurriedly called out to her.

Ye Chuyue frowned, but didn't turn her head: "I'm not hungry."

The moment he finished speaking, he opened the door and walked out.

Gu Baiwei hurriedly followed, reminding Liu Ma before leaving, "When Niannian gets up, don't forget to give him breakfast."

After saying that, he hurriedly followed Ye Chuyue.

Ye Chuyue opened the car door, casually tossed her schoolbag into the car, and was about to get in when the other side of the car door was suddenly pulled open.

She looked at the person with slight annoyance: "What are you doing? I have to go to school, I don't have time for you."

"I send you."

Gu Baiwei didn't give her a chance to refuse and quickly climbed into the car and sat down.

Ye Chuyue glanced at her phone in annoyance, then reluctantly got into the car: "Stay away from me."

Gu Baiwei couldn't help but click her tongue inwardly. The two siblings really inherited their father's temper; they were both stubborn and unpleasant.

Ye Chuyue is a senior at a prestigious high school in the city, just a few minutes away from home.

Gu Baiwei tried to make conversation the whole way, but Ye Chuyue just closed her eyes and leaned back in her seat, completely ignoring her.

Gu Baiwei couldn't help but sigh. It seemed that building a good relationship with her children was a long and arduous task.

The car stopped quickly. Ye Chuyue grabbed her backpack and casually slung it over her shoulder. She thanked the driver in the driver's seat and said, "Uncle Wang, you can go back now."

He didn't say a single word to Gu Baiwei from beginning to end, as if she were invisible.

"etc."

Seeing her walk away, Gu Baiwei hurriedly chased after her.

Ye Chuyue raised an eyebrow: "Don't touch me."

Gu Baiwei awkwardly withdrew her hand: "Um, why didn't you let Uncle Wang park the car at the school gate?"

"None of your business."

Ye Chuyue walked forward impatiently with her schoolbag on her back, her pace quickening as if some ferocious beast was behind her.

Gu Baiwei was stunned for a moment, then hurriedly followed. Before she could catch up, she saw a boy with dyed yellow hair put his arm around Ye Chuyue's shoulder and press himself against her.

Holy crap! Who came from, you brat, daring to lay a hand on my precious daughter!

Gu Baiwei was immediately enraged. Ignoring everything else, she stepped forward and pulled the boy away, shouting, "What are you doing? Why are you hitting me?"

Caught off guard, Li Nanxing stumbled and stared at the newcomer. But when he saw the face clearly, he froze, and the small flame that had just risen in his chest was instantly extinguished.

"Sister Yue, is this your sister?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Chuyue turned to look at Gu Baiwei, then said impatiently, "Which eye of yours saw that she is my sister?"

Li Nanxing scratched his head: "But you two look so alike."

"Are you blind!"

Ye Chuyue coldly left a sentence and threw her schoolbag to Li Nanxing: "Hurry up and go! We're going to be late."

As she spoke, she strode toward the school.

Li Nanxing stood there stunned for a moment, scratched his head embarrassedly, put Ye Chuyue's schoolbag together with his own, and freed one hand: "Sister, hello, I am Yuejie's friend, my name is Li Nanxing."

He sported a head of bright yellow hair with a distinctly flamboyant, "punk" vibe, but his face was delicate and shy, like a well-behaved student deliberately dressing in a rebellious manner.

The other person greeted her so politely that Gu Baiwei felt a little embarrassed for a moment: "Hello, I'm Ye Chuyue's... aunt."

"Huh? No way?"

Li Nanxing exclaimed in surprise, attracting the attention of many students who were watching. He hadn't expected that Gu Baiwei, who looked only a few years older than him, was not Ye Chuyue's older sister, but her aunt.

He suddenly became flustered and didn't know what to do when a furious shout came from ahead.

"Stop right there! Which class are you in? What kind of outfit are you wearing? You don't look like a student at all!"

Li Nanxing had a bad feeling. He had completely forgotten that it was that old-fashioned head teacher on duty at the school gate today.

This director would scold any student whose hair was a little long, let alone Ye Chuyue, whose outfit made her look like a delinquent.

He smiled apologetically at Gu Baiwei: "Sister, oops, Aunt, it seems like Yue-jie is in trouble. I'll go first."

Before Gu Baiwei could react, Li Nanxing had already run far away.

Gu Baiwei then noticed that a large crowd had gathered at the school gate.

A balding middle-aged man was pointing and gesturing at Ye Chuyue, his expression furious.

"Get home right now, change your clothes and hair, or don't come back!"

"This is a school, not a place for you to hang out in the streets! What kind of behavior is this! Anyone who didn't know better would think you were a thug!"

Ye Chuyue listened to him cursing, but her face remained nonchalant, and she even picked at her ear with a hint of boredom.

"What kind of expression is that? Which class are you in? How can you be so disrespectful to your elders? How did your parents raise you?"

Her nonchalant attitude completely provoked the head of the teaching department.

The head of student affairs raised his voice: "Call your parents over. I want to see what kind of parents could raise a student like you who has no respect for elders!"

Before he finished speaking, Ye Chuyue's expression changed instantly: "You can insult me however you want, but you're not allowed to insult my parents."

"You dare talk back? You've gone too far! You've really gone too far!"

Before he could finish speaking, a voice suddenly reached everyone's ears.

"I am her parent, so take it out on me."

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Ye Chuyue subconsciously turned to look at Gu Baiwei, frowning: "This is none of your business, don't meddle."

Gu Baiwei ignored her and stepped forward to block Ye Chuyue: "Director, the school doesn't stipulate what students must wear or what hairstyle they must have. Why can't our Yueyue dress like this?"

"Look at how she's dressed! She looks like a slacker, not a student at all. This is a place for studying, not a place for gangsters."

The head of student affairs, seeing that it was a young girl, snorted disdainfully and said, "I'm not talking to you. Call your parents to talk to me."
