Chapter Twenty-Nine: The Underground Boxing Ring

Women dressed in flamboyant clothes solicit customers on the roadside, while the brightly lit shop signs gleamed dazzlingly in the dark night sky.

This scene looks more and more like...

Gu Baiwei subconsciously took a step back, but Shen Yanqing grabbed her slender waist and pulled her into his arms.

He whispered in her ear, his deep, magnetic voice like the sound of a cello: "What? Scared?"

"Mr. Shen, I am a respectable person."

Gu Baiwei felt a chill run down her spine as she looked at the scantily clad women soliciting customers and the men's malicious and unrestrained stares.

How could she forget that this man was a legendary, ruthless gangster boss?

Seeing her tense expression, Shen Yanqing knew she was frightened, so he whispered softly in her ear, "Don't be afraid, this is all legitimate business."

You call this legitimate business?

Gu Baiwei listened to the screams coming from the underground boxing ring, her face darkening.

An underground boxing ring? Can that really be considered a legitimate business? Although it's not what she's thinking, but…

Shen Yanqing noticed her confusion and smiled as he took her hand: "Don't worry, everything is registered and legal."

When the person in charge of the underground boxing ring heard that Shen Yanqing was coming, he immediately led a large group of people out to greet him.

Shen Yanqing put away her gentle expression and glanced at the other person: "Don't be nervous, I just brought a friend here to have some fun."

The mastermind behind the underground boxing ring is Shen Yanqing, who used to bring back some promising boxers.

The person in charge, Shi Chong, bowed respectfully to Shen Yanqing, his gaze secretly glancing behind Shen Yanqing.

Last time, Shen Yanqing brought back a thin boy. The boy looked frail but was ruthless. In just a few months, he became the undefeated god of war in the entire underground boxing arena.

I wonder what formidable character Boss Shen will bring this time?

But after looking for a while, apart from the beautiful woman accompanying Boss Shen who was a stranger, everyone else was a familiar face, which made him a little puzzled.

Shen Yanqing lowered his eyes and moved closer to Gu Baiwei. The cool and pleasant fragrance emanating from him made Gu Baiwei's cheeks flush slightly.

"Want to give it a try?"

Gu Baiwei glanced at the tall and strong boxers on the ring and couldn't help but swallow hard: "Mr. Shen, there's no need to be so polite. I'll just watch."

Just kidding, with her small frame, she'd be nothing more than a sitting duck.

Shen Yanqing chuckled softly, slowly took off his suit jacket, and placed it on Gu Baiwei's arm: "Hold my clothes for me."

After saying that, he pulled open his shirt collar, rolled up his sleeves, grabbed the ring railing, and nimbly flipped over to leap onto the ring.

On the stage, the previous match had just ended, and the victorious, robust boxer was waving his fists with a smug look on his face.

Just then, a startled cry came from behind.

The boxer turned around and saw that familiar, gentle face. He was so frightened that he almost knelt down on the ground: "Brother Shen... Shen."

Shen Yanqing smiled and stretched out her hand to him: "Come on, let's have a match."

As he spoke, he casually grabbed the gloves handed to him from below the stage, put them on, and struck a pose.

The boxer's name is Tiger, and he's one of the top boxers in the underground boxing scene.

When the crowd below saw a tall, thin man walk onto the stage, they immediately erupted in cheers: "Brother Tiger, beat him up!"

They had never met Shen Yanqing before and assumed she was a newcomer.

Tiger smiled wryly. "You guys think too highly of me?"

When he first came to the underground boxing ring, he didn't know Shen Yanqing.

Back then, Shen Yanqing would come here to practice boxing when she was in a bad mood.

That day, he arrived at the underground boxing ring with a gloomy expression.

Shi Chong then had him fight Shen Yanqing. At that time, Hu Zi was young and fearless. Seeing that this person had thin arms and legs, he knew he couldn't withstand a beating.

He then got a wicked idea and went all out, but in the end, he was beaten so badly by Shen Yanqing that his parents almost didn't recognize him.

Later, he was carried off the stage and spent more than a month in the hospital before he learned that the reason Shi Chong let him go on stage was because everyone else was afraid of Shen Yanqing.

Tiger was on the verge of tears, realizing that his boss was just making fun of him again.

He went on stage reluctantly, but soon realized that Boss Shen seemed different today.

The person who used to be ruthless was beating people with unusual gentleness today.

He would occasionally glance down at the audience and begin to explain, making the cheering audience unable to shout anymore.

Damn, this isn't a competition, it's clearly a beginner's tutorial.

But they dared not speak out, for a large group of tall and strong bodyguards in black stood behind them. Anyone who dared to utter a word would be thrown out on the spot by those bodyguards.

"Do you understand now?"

Shen Yanqing punched Hu Zi in the face, making Hu Zi's head buzz.

Ironically, this person was making the most ruthless move, yet their tone was incredibly gentle.

Gu Baiwei nodded, looking completely bewildered: "Mm."

Shen Yanqing smiled and reached out his hand to her from the edge of the arena: "Want to come up and give it a try?"

"May I?"

Gu Baiwei hesitated for a moment, but Shen Yanqing's long, slender fingers grasped hers directly, and he said gently, "Don't be afraid."

With a strong, powerful pull, he easily dragged Gu Baiwei onto the ring.

He carefully helped her put on her boxing gloves, then looked at Tiger beside him and said, "Alright, we can start now. But stop when you've hit her, don't hurt her."

After saying that, he looked at Hu Zi with a smile, his eyes filled with a strong warning: if you dare to hurt her, you're dead.

Tiger's body trembled, and he and the audience below the stage all looked utterly hopeless. Damn it, this awful stench of romance.

This was Gu Baiwei's first time boxing, and she was both excited and a little nervous.

Shen Yanqing stood behind her, helping her adjust her posture. His deep, magnetic voice inexplicably reassured her: "Treat him as the person you hate the most, don't be polite."

Tiger? So, I'm just another part of your game?

Gu Baiwei bit her lower lip, and Hu Zi's honest face slowly overlapped with the cold face in her memory.

The next moment, without warning, she swung her fist and smashed it at Hu Zi without any technique.

Tiger instinctively wanted to throw a punch, but when he met Shen Yanqing's warning gaze, he shrank back and could only block it with his arm.

After several rounds of back and forth, Tiger only dared to defend and didn't dare to attack at all. He was joking, he wanted to live a couple more days.

Gu Baiwei was experiencing boxing for the first time, and after a few rounds, she was drenched in sweat.

The suppressed and frustrated feeling I had just experienced has completely dissipated.

Shen Yanqing handed her the towel: "How are you? Feeling any better?"

Gu Baiwei nodded vigorously and thanked him sincerely: "Thank you, Mr. Shen."

A bead of sweat slid down her cheek, then down her fair swan-like neck.

Shen Yanqing's Adam's apple bobbed as he looked down at her, his deep, magnetic voice carrying a certain allure: "If you really want to thank me, why don't you..."

His head slowly lowered, his hair brushing against Gu Baiwei's sweat-dampened, smooth forehead, tickling her.

Gu Baiwei stood frozen in place, somewhat nervous, unsure of what to do.

As the person drew closer, she nervously closed her eyes, when suddenly she heard a familiar cell phone ringtone.
