Chapter Ninety-One: Brother Yan Qing is Hers

Seeing that it was an unfamiliar number, Gu Baiwei didn't answer. There are too many scammers these days, and she basically won't answer numbers she doesn't recognize.

She hung up the phone and stuffed it into her bag, but after only a few steps, the phone rang again and again.

I glanced down and saw that it was still the same number.

She simply rejected the call again, but the familiar ringtone sounded again the next second.

Gu Baiwei frowned unhappily; she wanted to see just who was so persistent.

With a hint of anger, Gu Baiwei picked up the phone, her tone unfriendly: "Hello?"

However, when she shouted out with great enthusiasm, there was no response from the other side for a long time.

She frowned, and just as she was about to hang up, she heard faint, soft breathing coming from the other end of the line.

For no apparent reason, her heart skipped a beat: "Who is it? Don't play tricks in broad daylight!"

After she finished speaking, the other person still showed no intention of responding to her.

Gu Baiwei felt inexplicably flustered. At this moment, she had already walked outside and was about to go to the parking lot to get her car.

A low, husky laugh suddenly came from the other end of the phone. She pursed her lips, hung up immediately, and blocked the number.

Maybe it was a prank; she shouldn't have answered the call.

As she was thinking, she suddenly turned around as if she had realized something, and saw a silver van heading straight for her.

Gu Baiwei's heart skipped a beat. She dodged to the side, and the silver van sped past her arm, crashing into the glass door behind her with a loud bang. The van was stuck in the door frame and forced to stop there, with gasoline spilled all over the ground.

The next moment, with a bang, the car exploded right in front of her, flames shooting into the sky.

Gu Baiwei watched helplessly as the raging fire quickly engulfed the entire entrance. After a moment of stunned silence, she immediately reacted, took out her phone, and quickly dialed the fire department and emergency services.

Looking at the raging fire, Gu Baiwei felt a wave of fear. If she hadn't noticed the van in time, it would have knocked her off her feet.

Given the speed at which the van sped away, she would have been severely injured, if not killed.

Not long after she made the call, an ambulance and a fire truck arrived one after another. Only then did she feel relieved. She stood at a distance for a while before leaving the scene.

Fortunately, there weren't many people at the entrance at the time, and apart from the unconscious driver in the car, there were no other injuries or fatalities.

She felt something was off about the incident, but couldn't quite put her finger on it. Perhaps it was just an accident caused by driver fatigue.

Still shaken, she went to the parking lot to get her car and sat in it for a while before calming down.

Thinking that she was going to visit Shen Yanqing later, she drove to a nearby fruit shop and bought the most expensive fruit basket.

While walking down the street, I saw several bunches of bright yellow sunflowers displayed in front of a flower shop, so I bought one on a whim before driving to the hospital.

She really needs to thank Shen Yanqing for what happened to Fu Qiang.

She carried a fruit basket in one hand and a sunflower in the other as she walked towards Shen Yanqing's ward.

From afar, you can see Da Tou standing at the door, peeking into the ward every now and then.

When Da Tou saw her coming, he was stunned for a moment, then his face immediately lit up with joy, and he greeted her in a loud voice: "Miss Gu, have you come to see our master?"

Gu Baiwei nodded, and Da Tou immediately stepped forward to take the things from her hands, saying in a warm tone, "Miss Gu, please go in."

Although the boss hasn't said anything these past two days, he's been keeping a close eye on Miss Gu. Otherwise, he wouldn't have immediately sent someone to deal with Fu Qiang as soon as something happened to her.

Gu Baiwei thanked him somewhat shyly and knocked on the door.

"Come in."

Shen Yanqing's cold voice followed immediately.

Gu Baiwei responded and pushed open the door, followed by Da Tou carrying some things.

Inside the ward, Shen Yanqing was leaning against the headboard, wearing a plain blue and white striped hospital gown loosely, which was somehow accentuated by his exquisite and handsome face, giving him an air of nobility.

Upon seeing her, Shen Yanqing's expression instantly returned to its usual gentleness: "How did the audition go?"

Gu Baiwei was about to answer when she looked up and saw a young girl in a pale yellow tutu sitting next to Shen Yanqing's bed.

The girl had flaxen curly hair casually draped behind her head, and her features were deep and three-dimensional, making her look like she was of mixed race.

Hearing the door open, the girl turned her head and looked over, her gaze sweeping over the big head next to her before landing on Gu Baiwei. She raised her delicate eyebrows and asked in a very affectionate tone, "Brother Yanqing, who is this?"

Shen Yanqing's deep gaze fell on Gu Baiwei. He was about to speak when Gu Baiwei spoke first.

"Hello, my name is Gu Baiwei, and I am... a friend of Mr. Shen. Mr. Shen helped me a lot last time, and I am here to express my gratitude."

After she finished speaking, she secretly gave Chen Yanqing a playful smile, both of them understanding each other without saying a word.

Shen Yanqing's identity is sensitive, and there are quite a few people who want to kill him. Unless absolutely necessary, it's best to keep their relationship a secret for now.

Thinking of this, she suddenly remembered something very important: one of the people in the novel who wanted to kill Shen Yanqing almost succeeded.

That person was none other than Shen Xiangsong, Shen Yanqing's second uncle.

The original book describes Shen Yanqing's second uncle's experiences in a very mysterious way.

It only mentions that Shen Xiangsong injured his genitals when he was young and could not have children. Later, he married a divorced female celebrity. The female celebrity had a daughter with her ex-husband named Lu Yao. After the two got married, they changed her name to Shen Yao.
