Chapter Ninety-Three: If Mother Doesn't Want to Acknowledge Him, Then She Won't.

Ye Yunting sensed the indifference and aloofness in her tone, his heart clenched painfully, and his clenched fist slowly loosened: "Weiwei, that Mr. Shen is no ordinary person, you'd better stay away from him."

Gu Baiwei didn't want to waste her breath arguing with him. Late-coming affection was worse than weeds. The things of their past life had been wiped clean with their deaths. In this life, she just wanted to do whatever she wanted.

"Niannian, I'm going upstairs first."

She completely ignored Ye Yunting and spoke softly to Ye Sinian.

"Um."

Ye Sinian responded softly, then turned to look at Ye Yunting with a colder gaze: "Mr. Ye, what you're saying is too absurd. Please allow me to consider it further."

As he watched that slender figure walk into the room without a second glance and slam the door shut, Ye Yunting's heart sank to the bottom.

It turns out that being treated coldly by someone you care about is such a painful thing, but he had done this to her more than once in his past life.

It's understandable that she resents and hates him now, but he won't give up.

If he can get their two children to accept him, he believes that one day she will be able to open her heart to him again.

Ye Yunting looked at Ye Sinian, his eyes filled with the tenderness of an old father: "Sinian, if you have any doubts about what I said, I am ready to cooperate with you to do a paternity test at any time."

He came here this time hoping to try to reunite with Ye Sinian. His son had always admired him since childhood, and perhaps he would be the first to accept him.

Ye Sinian met his gaze in silence, his expression as cold and distant as ever.

He had actually been somewhat certain of Ye Yunting's identity since Qi Yu kidnapped his mother last time, but he respected his mother's decision. Since his mother didn't want to acknowledge him, then she wouldn't.

As a child, he witnessed his mother waiting alone at home for his father, and knew that his parents were not happy together.

Now that he had a second chance, Ye Sinian hoped that his mother could be happier rather than repeat the same pain.

“Mr. Ye, whether you are my biological father or not, I respect my mother’s decision.”

Looking at the person he once admired so much, Ye Sinian felt a mix of emotions. In his heart, he hoped that his parents could reconcile, but at the same time, he didn't want his mother to suffer the injustices she had suffered before.

She has already sacrificed too much for this family, and no one has the right to make her compromise any further.

Ye Yunting felt a pang of disappointment, but his face remained gentle with a smile. Judging from how his son addressed him, he must still harbor some resentment towards his father.

In his past life, he was busy with work and neglected to take care of his mother and two children. It was understandable that they had grievances against him, but he believed that as long as he treated them better, one day, his family would be able to reconcile.

"Then I'll take my leave now."

Ye Yunting glanced at the closed door upstairs, said goodbye to Ye Sinian, and left.

As I walked out the door, I brushed past Ye Chuyue, who was returning from school.

Ye Chuyue frowned immediately when she saw his handsome eyebrows. Why was this person still bothering her aunt?

Ye Yunting, completely oblivious to his daughter's resistance, greeted her with a smile: "Chu Yue, you're back?"

"You dare call me Chu Yue?"

Ye Chuyue snorted coldly, switched her schoolbag to the other shoulder, and walked home without looking back.

I finally made it to the weekend, but this is really unlucky.

Ye Yunting watched her retreating figure and smiled wryly. It seemed that the road to reuniting the family was long and arduous.

Gu Baiwei carried her schoolbag upstairs and went straight to her room.

When I knocked and went in, Gu Baiwei was holding her phone and talking to someone. Her cherry-like lips were slightly red and swollen.

As Ye Chuyue entered the room, she had just hung up the phone: "Yueyue, you're back?"

Upon hearing this, Ye Chuyue nodded, then her gaze fell on her lips, and her brows furrowed instantly: "What's wrong with your lips?"

Gu Baiwei blushed immediately: "It's nothing, I just got bitten by a bug."

Ye Chuyue, unsuspecting, plopped down on the bed and tossed her schoolbag aside: "Auntie, is that guy surnamed Ye bothering you again? I told you to stay away from him. He looks just like my brother, a blockhead, so cold and aloof..."

Before he could finish speaking, he was hit hard on the head.

Ye Chuyue turned around with displeasure, only to meet Ye Sinian's deep, dark eyes.

She was stunned for a moment, almost choking on her own saliva. How could her brother appear and disappear so suddenly, without making a sound?

Feeling inexplicably guilty for talking badly about her brother behind his back, she immediately fawned over him, grabbing Ye Sinian's arm and pleading, "Brother, I was just using an analogy. How can he compare to you?"

Ye Sinian sneered: "You're right, so this month's living expenses are canceled."

He finished speaking and turned to leave.

"Brother, you can't do this to me."

Ye Chuyue looked heartbroken and reached out her hand to Ye Sinian.

Gu Baiwei felt a sense of relief watching the interaction between the brother and sister.

The relationship between the two seems to have eased considerably since the beginning; at least they no longer argue every time they meet.

She smiled and patted Ye Chuyue's head: "Your brother is just teasing you. If he really doesn't give you living expenses, I will."

Ye Chuyue's eyes immediately lit up: "My aunt is still the best to me."

"I've made up my mind. I'm going to make sure you find the best uncle-in-law."

She spoke with great conviction, which amused Gu Baiwei, who assumed she was joking and didn't take it seriously.

Ye Chuyue looked up at her watch and realized it was almost seven o'clock. Thinking about the homework she hadn't finished, she let out a wail and ran back to her room.
