Chapter 172 Caught in the act

Chapter 172 Caught in the act

That aura was like the divine light that pulled him back from the brink of collapse in the virtual world of the Galaxy Cinema.

Situ Linchen turned around abruptly, his gaze fixed on the direction from which the aura was coming from.

It was a chaotic and broken mid-level luxury VIP box area.

"Is it a hallucination?"

That beautiful face that had appeared in his countless midnight dreams surfaced before his eyes once again.

With a clang, his weapon reflexively deflected another piece of falling debris.

Suddenly, the high-energy weapon in the robber's hand aimed at one of the mid-level private rooms.

A magnetic slingshot was launched, flying straight towards the private room where Ning Shuyin was.

However, this powerful warhead was blocked by an extremely condensed icy energy the moment it touched the force screen of the private room.

The field screen in the VIP box was intact, effectively isolating it from the chaos of the outside world.

The protective power was cold and absolute, causing both Situ Linchen and Luo Lan to be startled. They both sensed the destructive aura within this icy force.

In that instant, their gazes were fixed on the private room like sharp swords, as if they could see through the force field screen.

Inside the private room, Klose withdrew his hand expressionlessly.

He bowed his head and humbly said to Ning Shuyin, "Master, it's too dangerous here. I'll escort you to safety."

Before he even asked for her consent, he bent down, put one hand under her knees and the other around her shoulders and back, and picked her up in his arms.

He turned to leave.

"Cloth, put me down." She struggled slightly, but knew it was probably useless.

really.

"If you feel I am disobedient, you can punish me however you like when we get back."

However, just as he took his first step while holding Ning Shuyin—

boom!

A high-energy bomb was suddenly detonated in the very center of the abyss.

It was the robber who, driven to desperation, threw his last life-saving trump card into the air.

The shockwave swept across the entire stadium.

The Shadow Abyss Auction House's robust mental shield and energy confusion field completely collapsed in this devastating explosion.

The field screen in each private room resembled shattered glass, with spiderweb-like cracks appearing on its surface.

It then shattered into pieces.

Amidst the smoke and chaos, the tall, upright figure of a white-haired man came into view.

He held a woman wearing a jeweled mask in his arms in an absolutely protective posture.

Even with only a half-obscured profile, the familiar outline was enough to make Situ Linchen and Zhou Zhiheng gasp for breath, and cause Luo Lan to tighten her grip on the lightsaber.

My soul is captivated by you, I think about you day and night.

She was thus exposed to everyone's view without any precautions.

The robber has fallen to the ground.

The echoes of the explosion, the organizers' reassurance to the guests over the loudspeaker, the sound of VIPs leaving in a huff...

Everything faded into a silent background.

It seems that in this world, only she remains, like the only firefly in the abyss.

Situ Linchen held the red particle knife, staring blankly at her, his joy almost tearing her apart.

Zhou Zhiheng's purplish eyes, which concealed his scheming nature, were filled with intense possessiveness and dissatisfaction.

She was being held in another man's arms, exposed in front of so many people.

Loran sheathed his lightsaber.

He forced himself to look away from her and check on the fallen raider.

But his body betrayed him.

Out of the corner of his eye, he couldn't help but secretly trace the ends of her hair.

And because she was being held in the arms of that despicable prince, a new anger arose within her.

A few seconds later, Caesar sighed helplessly and picked up the purification crystal from the ground.

"Ning Shuyin!"

Situ Linchen's cold and steady voice trembled slightly.

He lightly touched the ground with his toes and leaped into the middle-level private room, stopping steadily in front of her.

“It really isn’t an illusion.” He reached out, his fingertips wanting to touch her cheek to confirm the reality of this moment.

However, before his hand could touch him, a golden afterimage flashed before him.

Caesar had teleported between Ning Shuyin and Situ Linchen, forcibly separating the two with his body.

Holding a whip in one hand, the golden handle blocked Situ Linchen's outstretched wrist.

"Marshal," Caesar looked at Situ Linchen warily, "put away that intimidating expression. What do you intend to do to my men?"

"Your person? When did she become your person?" Situ Linchen asked angrily.

He had already taken a clear look at the interior of the private room before entering.

There are three cups on the coffee table.

A suit that clearly belonged to Caesar lay on the sofa armrest. A woman's shawl, serving as a visual distraction, hung on the coat rack next to it.

That bastard, wild man from outside the rules!

He searched through several star systems but couldn't find her; it was Caesar who deliberately hid her.

The tension between the two was palpable, and they seemed on the verge of exploding.

"Alright, if you want to fight, don't choose this place." Zhou Zhiheng walked closer with leisurely steps.

His gaze passed over the two people facing off and landed on Ning Shuyin, then swept over the face of Kross, who was holding her firmly.

“Long time no see, my employee. With my ledgers, are you having fun?” Zhou Zhiheng’s eyes showed no surprise. “You’ve been absent from work for so long, it’s time to come back to work with me.”

As soon as he said this, both Situ Linchen and Caesar turned their hostile gazes to him.

The last person to enter the private room was Loran.

He stood outside the battle circle, not approaching.

He watched Ning Shuyin from afar, confirming that she was unharmed. Her white dress accentuated her beauty, and her eyes, hidden beneath her mask, remained bright and clear.

A faint sense of relief flashed through his mind; she was alright.

Immediately, the sight of Klose in his line of sight stirred up an indescribable sense of unease within him.

He pressed his thin lips together, remaining silent. He forcefully used reason to suppress the turbulent emotions within him.

The most composed person in the private room was none other than Klose.

Despite the varied gazes of the four top experts, he remained expressionless, as if nothing concerned him.

He held Ning Shuyin and distanced himself from them, then asked in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Master, do you need me to clear these obstacles?"

Ning Shuyin could sense that everyone present probably wanted to take her away.

"Put me down," she commanded, frowning.

With no immediate danger in the surroundings, Klose no longer had a suitable reason to continue holding her.

He suppressed the murderous intent in his eyes, steadily put Ning Shuyin down, and maintained his guarding posture.

After their reunion, the situation once again reached a stalemate.

In the abyss of the auction house, structures continue to collapse, making it unsuitable for reminiscing or discussing business.

Ning Shuyin cleared her throat and said decisively, "Let's leave here first and find a suitable place."

She pointed to the small crystal, about the size of a fingernail, in Caesar's hand, with a soft radiance flowing slowly within it.

"You're all probably very concerned about where this thing belongs, right?"
