Chapter 183 Loran's Touch Test

Chapter 183 Loran's Touch Test

Of course, Loran noticed it.

That force that had always lingered in his heart, instilling in him a strange protective instinct towards her, and causing him to repeatedly break his own principles...

It suddenly disappeared.

Lorraine's feelings for her suddenly became incredibly clear, like a piece of glass that had just been wiped clean.

Her face, pale with fear, and her eyelashes trembling uncontrollably, betrayed the fact that she knew her influence had vanished.

She was afraid of him.

"What are you afraid of? Are you afraid I'll dissect you here?" His voice was cold.

Ning Shuyin was startled by his question.

"Wh...what?" She blinked, forcing herself to look blank. "I don't know what you're talking about..."

Her survival instinct led her to begin disguising herself.

She was genuinely afraid that he would pull out a scalpel at any moment.

She was well aware of the power gap between herself and an SSS-level expert.

"Don't know?" A cold smile appeared on Loran's lips. "It doesn't matter if you don't know, I'll find out soon enough."

He turned the medical examination pen in his hand to a brighter brightness.

The beam of light started from her forehead and slowly moved downwards.

Even though it was just a medical scan, Ning Shuyin felt as if he was invading her.

She bit her lower lip, trying not to move, lest she arouse his interest.

“Just now, in that instant,” Loran’s voice was eerily calm, “that strange gravitational force that had been interfering with my judgment disappeared.”

The beam of light stopped at her heart.

Her rapid heartbeat turned into a string of numbers that kept climbing.

"So, I need to give you a medical check-up."

He put away the examination pen, and the elevator car was once again enveloped in a dim light. His cold fingertips suddenly touched her neck, where her carotid artery pulsated.

Ning Shuyin trembled all over, but she forced herself not to dodge.

"Her heart rate is too fast, her body temperature is low, and she's been trembling slightly." He frowned at her reaction. "Did you hit your head when you fell? Or is there nerve damage?"

His hand slid down her neck and touched her spine.

"Don't touch me!" She broke free and shrank into the corner of the elevator.

Loran paused in his movements.

He then lunged forward, bracing himself against the wall on either side of her body.

“I’m just checking your injuries,” he leaned down, “and after I check you…whether you can continue.”

"Continue...what?" Ning Shuyin asked, puzzled.

“Since you can move around normally, there’s nothing seriously wrong with your body.” He stepped back a little. “You can continue.”

Ning Shuyin: "What kind of riddle are you playing?"

Her response was Loran's next move.

He knelt on one knee in front of her and, with slow and graceful movements, unbuttoned the white research coat he was wearing.

The research gown was wide open, revealing the white shirt underneath.

Loran continued, his shirt buttons undone, revealing a perfectly sculpted body to Ning Shuyin. He had several red bruises on his body from the impact.

Lorraine did not stop.

He raised his hand, tossing his research coat aside and pulling his shirt down to his waist. His skin was exposed to the faint light of the examination pen.

There was a scratch on his shoulder that was bleeding slightly.

“Now, my world is back to normal.” He looked at her with eyes no longer troubled by anything. “So, I want to know…”

He leaned closer to her: "What are my true feelings for you?"

He took her cold, trembling hand and guided her fingers to his chest, her fingertips sinking in.

"Examine my body." The hoarse voice held a desperate longing.

"Let me verify your touch without that gravitational interference..."

He leaned down, his warm lips almost touching her earlobe: "...What kind of changes will it bring to my body?"

The light source outlined Loran's perfect figure and also illuminated the fresh scars on his body.

The research coats, tossed aside, looked like shells that had been shed.

Ning Shuyin instinctively wanted to back away.

But with her hands pinned to her body by Loran, she couldn't move away at all.

"I can use my senses to investigate."

“No, touch him directly.” His dark red pupils stared unblinkingly at her, guiding her fingertips to trace his outline.

Ning Shuyin felt him tremble slightly.

He seemed slightly flustered, yet he was trying to control himself.

“I hate illusions, Ning Shuyin,” Loran whispered, “but what I hate even more is the inability to confirm what is real.”

His fingers intertwined with hers, guiding her to touch the wound on his shoulder.

Ning Shuyin pulled her wrist back forcefully.

Her fingertips had just touched the floor and were covered in grime. This man was a germaphobe, and she was afraid he would hold her accountable.

"You've dirtied me."

Ning Shuyin: "!"

He was making a blasphemous request, yet he maintained a cold and composed demeanor. It was as if he was admiring his prey, or perhaps he was about to become the prey himself.

Ning Shuyin's fingertips were forced to touch the wound. The wound, which had already begun to scab over, was reopened, and new blood seeped out. The fresh blood stained her fingertips, warm and sticky.

She turned her head away, not wanting to look.

"Watch me do it." Loran's command echoed in the enclosed space.

Her fingernails dug into his flesh, and Ning Shuyin's breathing trembled uncontrollably.

Despite the dark and cold underground environment, Loran's body temperature rose higher and higher, and his eyes were unfathomably deep.

A healing green glow emanates from the fingertips.

“Take back your healing power. Otherwise, I might have to take…unconventional measures to stop you.” Loran’s warning voice rang out from above her head.

I don't know when, but he's gotten so close.

With a click, the waist buckle popped open. Her clothes slipped down a little further, the ends of her abs disappearing into the shadows. She hadn't imagined he'd lose control to this extent.

"Is it done? It's been so long, you should have confirmed it by now." Ning Shuyin asked him in a low voice with her eyes closed, not daring to look at the direction her finger was being guided.

...

"That's not enough, a little pain is fine too. I want to know... how much I can endure. I want to see clearly what kind of... reaction you will elicit from me."

He moved closer and closer, his breathing becoming unsteady, his eyes looking at her with a confused and moist gaze.

...

He couldn't resist and reached out to hold the back of her head.

Just as Loran leaned down, their lips were about to touch—

Clang!

The armor plate overhead shook.

Then, the steel plate began to slowly move upwards. The sounds of machinery operating could be heard from around the elevator car. Ning Shuyin could sense that the surrounding sealed armor was being opened.

Someone came; someone let them out.

The creaking sound came from the deformed elevator car door being forcibly torn open.

A dim yellow light shone through the increasingly wide crack in the door, and her gaze fell upon a wisp of white hair.

The door was finally fully opened.

The interior of the elevator car is exposed to the outside.

Loran, disheveled, and Ning Shuyin, her fingers stained with blood, were dangerously close. And… the ambiguous presence covering Loran's body—the trails left by Ning Shuyin's blood-stained fingers. The trails meandered, eventually disappearing at the edge of her trousers.

Lorraine's expression became somewhat unnatural, but he quickly regained his composure and began buttoning his shirt at a leisurely pace.

"Master," Kross helped Ning Shuyin out of the sedan chair, "Are you injured?"

"I'm fine," Ning Shuyin replied somewhat awkwardly, caught off guard and at a loss for words.

"Gu Lei, you really are a jinx, able to appear precisely in any dangerous place." Loran's sinister voice came.

He was already dressed in his research lab coat, and apart from his silver hair that Ning Shuyin had ruffled earlier, he looked impeccably groomed. He was completely unlike his out-of-control self when they were alone.

Behind Klose was a wisp of blue hair, and pink eyes that were almost transparent in the dim light.
