Chapter 190 The Battle for Hotel Rooms
Tartarus Nebula, Resort Star, Royal Grand Hotel.
From a distance, it appears as a magnificent palace floating in the clouds.
The main body of the hotel is formed by countless geometric modules that fit together and extend like an "infinite puzzle".
Those cuboids and cylinders are hotel suites of different room types.
The exterior of the rooms is decorated with rare crystals, adorned with lush green plants, and some even have flowing hot springs.
The modules are connected by particle corridors, and the structure can be reorganized at any time as needed.
As soon as Ning Shuyin stepped off the tarmac, she saw a huge dark shape parked on another berth in the harbor area.
The Phantom is an exceptionally conspicuous presence, no matter where it is.
"Capitalists are like a persistent ghost."
Ning Shuyin muttered a low complaint, then pulled a pair of large sunglasses from her pocket and put them on her nose. She also pulled her wide-brimmed hat down a bit.
Wearing comfortable seven-centimeter high heels, Ning Shuyin entered the luxurious lobby and interacted with her personal computer ID at the front desk.
"Hello, I'd like to check in. I've booked a garden villa in Zone B."
The receptionist was a cat-like man with a pair of pale gray cat ears standing straight up, looking as if he were facing a formidable enemy.
"Excuse me, Miss Ning, please wait a moment."
The receptionist's finger nearly pierced the holographic screen, but she still couldn't close the alarm dialog box on the screen.
"The system is displaying that your room assignment is constantly flashing."
Ning Shuyin pushed her sunglasses down a few notches, looking at the screen from the top of the frame.
The room numbers above were jumping around like a slot machine.
【A01】……【A10】……[A01]……[A10]……
The jumping cursor seemed to be struggling, like a pitiful creature being targeted by two powerful figures at the same time. One side wanted to drag it to room A01, while the other side unceremoniously picked it up and threw it towards room A10.
The receptionist didn't understand the technology, but having worked at the most luxurious hotel in this resort for many years, he had guessed that this was probably a battle of the titans.
This was not something a mere hotel receptionist like him could afford to offend. But if he waited a little while, he remembered that the hotel's procedures included a deadlock clearing protocol.
"Um, the system seems to be busy right now. Miss Ning, please wait a little longer."
The receptionist offered her two candies in a fawning manner.
Ning Shuyin was thinking about meeting up with Su Qianqian later, so she casually stuffed the candy into her pocket.
A beep sounded from the front desk.
The "slot machine" on the screen finally stopped, and after a one-second freeze, the room number automatically popped up.
"Okay...okay!" The receptionist breathed a sigh of relief, and the tail behind him relaxed and drooped down, but then stared at the room that had jumped out of the room for a few seconds.
Although he sensed something was amiss, the woman in front of him was already showing signs of impatience, so he quickly pressed the confirmation button on the screen.
"We apologize for the system error that caused you delay. The hotel has automatically upgraded you to the Presidential Suite A02 on the top floor, and the electronic room key has been sent to your personal computer." The receptionist bowed deeply.
Ning Shuyin glanced at the message that popped up on her personal terminal: "Welcome to the Presidential Suite A02." She then turned to leave.
Just then, a soft commotion came from the lobby entrance.
The guests, who had been engaged in elegant conversation, all turned their attention to the newcomer.
A flamboyant figure walked towards us against the light.
The man wore a sand-gold suit without a tie, and his black shirt collar was wide open, revealing a large expanse of honey-colored pectoral muscles. He walked with a swagger, as if the entire Tartarus were beneath his feet.
Caesar.
Ning Shuyin saw him from afar and planned to slip away.
But Caesar's blue eyes seemed to be equipped with radar, directly bypassing the guests in the lobby and landing on the figure at the front desk wearing large sunglasses.
He smirked, quickly strode to the front desk, and tapped his long, slender fingers on the countertop.
"Which room is she staying in?" The voice was languid, but it startled the receptionist.
The receptionist had just dealt with this troublesome room when this real local tyrant appeared, making her feel that today was really not a good day to go to work: "Your Majesty, Miss Ning is staying in the top-floor presidential suite A02."
"A02?"
Caesar frowned, looking dissatisfied: "I live in A07, and A02 is at the other end of the corridor, a full two hundred meters away. How can that be?"
Ning Shuyin: "..."
Caesar gave the direct order: "Change it to A08, the one across from her."
The receptionist quickly turned on the screen, but after a few seconds, his face turned awkward: "Your Majesty, room A08 is currently locked by the system for some reason. It seems the backend hasn't been released. I can't operate it..."
The poor receptionist felt like dying; in all his years, he had never seen so many strange things happen in the top-floor rooms.
"Can't operate it?" Caesar sneered. "Is there a hotel on my turf that I can't stay in?"
Caesar, too lazy to listen to explanations, directly connected with the hotel's general manager.
The screen popped open, revealing the general manager's tense, round face.
Before he could even say hello, Caesar said, "Use your privileges to open the top-floor suite A08 for me. Now."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
Upon seeing Caesar's expression, the general manager, without saying a word, directly used his physical access to overwrite everything.
drop!
The front-end screen flashed, and A08's status instantly turned green, being sent to Ning Shuyin's optical computer.
"It's all taken care of, Wang," the general manager said with a fawning smile.
"Alright, come drink on my ship next time." Caesar hung up the communication with satisfaction.
After saying that, he turned around and confirmed that her room had become A08. His devilishly handsome face came close to her sunglasses: "Alright, we're neighbors now."
"..."
Caesar straightened up and looked her up and down again: "You look beautiful today, it seems to give me a completely new feeling."
Ning Shuyin had a clear purpose for this trip and didn't want to cause any trouble. Fearing that saying anything more might create unnecessary complications, she simply nodded slightly and said, "I'm going back to my room to rest."
“Alright, go ahead.” Caesar did not catch up with her.
“I have a request,” Ning Shuyin said, taking two steps before turning back. “Room A08 is currently my private area. You are not allowed to teleport directly into my room without my permission.”
Caesar raised an eyebrow: "You're talking about territorial rights with the King of the Outer Worlds?"
Ning Shuyin stared at him with her beautiful eyes.
Caesar chuckled at her gaze: "Alright, I promise you, I will not barge in uninvited tonight."
“But,” he ran his hand through his hair, “this door can’t be opened for any other man tonight. Otherwise…”
He slowly added the second half of the sentence: "I'll teleport directly to your bed."
Without waiting for her reply, he waved his hand. Ripples spread through the air, and he vanished without a trace.
Ning Shuyin secretly breathed a sigh of relief and, with the luggage robot in tow, headed towards the VIP elevator.
...
Top floor, suite A08.
With a click, the electronic lock unlocked, and the ornate, carved alloy gate slid open to both sides.
Ning Shuyin had anticipated the room's luxury, but the moment she stepped inside, she was still dazzled by the opulent sight before her.
The open-plan space, spanning hundreds of square meters, exudes a palatial feel. Most remarkably, each functional area is self-contained, yet when placed together, they blend seamlessly, seemingly without boundaries.
Looking further ahead, directly in front of the living room is a full wall of transparent smart panoramic glass, leading to a suspended infinity pool.
The pool water is crystal clear and blue, blending seamlessly with the boundless, colorful sea of clouds surrounding the resort in the distance.
Ning Shuyin had the robot place her luggage haphazardly in a corner of the living room, and then went into the bathroom to wash her face.
I was stunned as soon as I entered the bathroom.
The space, nearly 100 square meters, is indoors, yet feels like a secluded, verdant natural environment. The first thing you see is a shower area with finely carved glass.
Passing through the shower area is a spacious walk-in closet; pulling back the beaded curtains reveals a huge, sunken crystal bathtub in the soaking area.
The bathtub is designed to resemble natural lava, with the entire piece of crystal displaying gradient colors. Rare vegetation surrounds it, along with a one-way protective screen, offering views of the mountains directly opposite the hotel while bathing.
It truly lives up to its reputation as a presidential suite for vacationers.
Unfortunately, there's no time to enjoy it now. Ning Shuyin quickly washed her face and dialed Su Qianqian's number:
"Qianqian, I've arrived. Top floor, A08. Come find me quickly."
She hadn't noticed the water stains around the sink that weren't from her. When she passed the dressing room, the heavy curtain had been partially pulled open, indicating that someone had been inside.
