Chapter 167 A Brothel Attire
A faint scent of pink roses filled the air of the castle, bringing a peculiar sense of tranquility.
The lobby was spotless, and a magnificent handmade carpet stretched from your feet all the way to the spiral staircase in the distance.
The colors of the valuable paintings hanging on the wall are still vibrant, and the armor of the knights standing on both sides is polished to a gleaming shine, so much so that the blurry figures of the two figures can be seen.
Everything here looks as if it was carefully tended by servants just yesterday.
This utterly illogical cleanliness terrified Ning Shuyin more than the ruins and bones scattered everywhere.
The thought of that strange energy aura sent chills down Ning Shuyin's spine.
"Is this place haunted?" she wondered to herself.
Kross looked down at her: "Master, are you afraid?"
"Who's afraid!" Ning Shuyin forced herself to remain calm.
Since you're here for archaeological work, how can you just admit you're afraid?
She summoned a wisp of combat power to protect herself, straightened her back, and bravely continued to follow the map's guidance, passing through elegantly decorated corridors.
All the rooms along the way had their doors open, as if inviting them in.
On the long table in the banquet hall, exquisite silver cutlery was laid out. In the study, a thick physical book of poems was being turned to a particular page.
Everything here looks as if its owner was just a minute ago.
No, perhaps it still is.
"Master, the energy circulation system here is operating continuously, and the air filtration and temperature control systems are also activated," Kross's voice rang in her ear.
He investigated the operation of the machinery and equipment here and found that it was very abnormal.
Maintaining such a fortress requires enormous amounts of energy. This is not typical of an abandoned fortress drifting in space.
Ning Shuyin used her S-level perception to probe the deepest part of the ancient castle.
This is the heart of the castle – the master bedroom.
A beautifully carved door made from a single piece of obsidian, without a keyhole or handle, but with only a star-shaped mechanism.
Ning Shuyin glanced at it, her tense nerves relaxed for a moment, and then a feeling of displeasure welled up in her heart.
"Cloth, wait for me outside," she said.
Kross seemed to want to say something more, but the mental chains prevented him from saying anything more than, "Yes, Master."
Ning Shuyin gently raised her wrist and placed it on the star chart.
The door clicked open.
This is an extremely luxurious bedroom, with warm candlelight illuminating the exquisite decorations on the walls.
The carpet was so thick that it made no sound when you stepped on it.
Flames flickered in the fireplace, and the air was filled with the rich aroma of wine.
In the center of the bedroom stood an oversized four-poster canopy bed, with pink, semi-transparent canopies hanging low, completely obscuring the view from the bed.
Ning Shuyin's senses had already penetrated the bed curtains, allowing her to "see" the situation inside clearly.
“It’s you.” Her voice echoed in the bedroom.
A few seconds of silence.
A low, sexy laugh came from behind the curtain.
"Little one, you have absolutely no sense of romance. Couldn't you at least lift the bed curtains and show some surprise?"
Before he could finish speaking, a honey-colored, muscular arm emerged from the gap in the curtains.
Her wrist was grabbed, and she was suddenly pulled into the bed.
The blond man reclined on a pile of silk cushions, wearing only an open silk robe. His well-defined chest and abs were exposed.
Beside him was a small plate with two glasses of pink liquor on it.
As she crashed into the soft bed, the wine glass swayed, and a few drops of crystal-clear wine splashed out, filling the air with an enticing aroma.
Ning Shuyin knew it was him, of course.
Seeing the lock at the door, she had already cursed that fat bastard who sold her information at least a hundred times in her mind.
The gravity lock core was custom-made to match the pain-transferring bracelet on her wrist. No one but Caesar knew such details about the chain.
My palms are slightly cool.
Caesar picked up a glass of wine and placed it in her hand.
He deliberately shook his head at her: "So, are you surprised now?"
“You…” Ning Shuyin’s gaze was fixed on Caesar’s head.
Amidst that cascading golden hair, a pair of fluffy golden animal ears had suddenly appeared, playfully twitching with his movements as if they possessed their own life.
"I made all the preparations to wait for you, making myself smell wonderful. I even personally cleaned the whole place thoroughly." His languid voice was a boast to her.
His words were spoken with a hint of humor, but his deep blue eyes held an intense, unyielding emotion.
The preciousness of something lost and then regained.
She had no idea how absurd and infuriating he felt when he saw the video on the League of Legends news that labeled her a witch.
After hearing the news of her death, he experienced for the first time what it meant to be powerless to save her.
After escaping from the Penrose triangle, Situ Linchen said he could guarantee her safety, and he let her go back.
And yet, she suffered such a calamity. Those three men acted as if they cared so much about her, but when it really mattered, they couldn't even protect one of them.
But then he calmed down.
She was able to pull him back from the Triangle of Death, and he believed she wouldn't die so easily.
The alliance did not find her remains.
He had laid out the most meticulous intelligence network outside the border, and finally, his efforts had not been in vain. He had waited for her. Perfectly intact, still so vibrant and dazzling.
Caesar's gaze traced the face so close to his. A few strands of dark hair, slightly disheveled from the earlier tugging, clung to her cheek. Her usually bright and lively eyes were wide open, tinged with annoyance.
Her vibrant life force smoothed out the wrinkles of fear that had settled in his heart.
Ning Shuyin felt Caesar's gaze was burning and dark. Being nestled in the center of this soft, large bed made her feel very unsafe.
Just as she was about to leave, the perspective shifted.
A cool, smooth silk cushion was pressed against my ear, and a warm, firm body covered me.
He pinned her firmly beneath him.
"Now that I've caught you, how about we go on a date?" His breath brushed against her ear.
Ning Shuyin was held captive between his arms, enveloped by Caesar's masculine heat and the aroma of wine wafting from the curtains.
She tried to struggle, but he was incredibly strong.
Those azure eyes gazed at him from above. After a long while, he ran his finger across her cheek.
"Little guy, do you know that you're practically dead in the Alliance's system right now?"
"So what?" She knew, of course, that news of her death had been announced and all her personal information had been deleted.
"That would mean... all your matching information in the Rose Society would be invalidated as well."
Her eyes flickered.
The mistake she made when she falsified the data—the so-called legal obligation to date those four men—has vanished.
Caesar noticed her little expression.
He leaned down, almost touching her earlobe, and said, "That purple-eyed kid was bragging to me that my next date had to be after his. But now..."
His fingers traced the side of her neck.
“The rules are gone.” He blew a mischievous breath into her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. “I don’t have to wait in line, and I don’t have to worry about anyone stealing your third date.”
Hearing the words "third date," Ning Shuyin suddenly snapped out of her reverie.
She tried to create some distance between them and asked, "What are we going to do on our third date?"
