Chapter 131 The Lifelong Contract of the Star Pirate King
Caesar shook his head: "I'm injured like this, how could I have the strength to teleport you? We didn't return to our original coordinates, we were probably thrown here by spatial forces."
Ning Shuyin is doubtful.
Caesar smiled and then looked down to operate the quantum computer for a while.
A short while later, a medium-sized warship hovered above their heads.
"This is my spare warship. Let's go, let's throw this piece of junk away." He waved the culprit, the high-dimensional particle, in his hand.
Caesar's backup warship is named the Wanderer. It has an ancient and simple appearance and is only half the size of the Court of Usurpation, but its weaponry is no less impressive.
Stepping inside, the command center exudes understated luxury. There are wine-brown leather seats and a carved Goringnas wood coffee table.
"Let's go to the medical bay," Caesar said, his voice still weak.
Ning Shuyin helped him into the medical bay at the stern.
Caesar lay down on the automated diagnostic bed, took off his battle suit, and then unbuttoned his inner shirt.
The instrument arm extended and began scanning his body.
"Three ribs are broken, internal organs are bleeding in multiple places, and his superpowers are severely overdrawn..."
Ning Shuyin deliberately avoided looking at his beautiful honey-colored chest and abdominal muscles, and instead looked at the diagnosis report on the screen.
He was injured much more severely than she had imagined.
"I won't die," Caesar said nonchalantly.
His azure eyes looked at Ning Shuyin with great interest: "Now, it's your turn to explain."
"Explain what?" Ning Shuyin helped him access the automatic treatment program in the medical pod.
"How did you find me?" Caesar asked inquisitively. "The Penrose Triangle can disrupt all spatial perception; even my teleportation is trapped."
"But you, as if you had a cheat code, found me with perfect accuracy."
Ning Shuyin lowered her eyes, grabbed a soft pillow and placed it behind his back to avoid his probing.
She didn't rely entirely on her own perception for this mission.
Without the system item "Paradox Bomb," her perception was of no use.
But these are things that cannot be said.
She could only give a vague answer: "My sensory abilities are just a bit special."
"special?"
A fiery light ignited in Caesar's azure eyes.
"No, it's not just your special abilities. I think you as a whole are very special to me."
“I was trapped there, my consciousness was almost gone. Just when I thought I was going to die, you appeared, like a ray of light piercing through the chaos and finding me.”
Caesar propped himself up, the healing gun bouncing off course from his hand. He ignored it.
His blond hair brushed against her arm, and his chest pressed against her forearm: "Do you know what that means?"
Ning Shuyin looked at him, shook her head, and tried to push him away.
Caesar's eyes were serious: "You are the person I have been looking for."
She would step back a little, and he would move closer a little. She was afraid that if this continued, he would fall off the bed, so she dared not step back any further.
In this position, disregarding the fact that he was undergoing treatment, Caesar used his uninjured hand to open his personal computer and began operating it rapidly with his fingertips right in front of Ning Shuyin.
His expression was focused, as if he were making a life-or-death plan.
Ning Shuyin was bewildered by his sudden action and subconsciously glanced at the screen. She only saw words such as "permissions," "sharing," and "lifetime" flashing.
If she leaned closer to look, she would fall right into his arms, so she suppressed her curiosity and ignored what he was doing.
"Alright." After only a few minutes, Caesar had stopped operating the computer.
He grabbed Ning Shuyin's hand and, without saying a word, pressed it against his chest.
A strong heartbeat beneath her palm, a warm and firm touch, startled Ning Shuyin, and a warmth spread across her cheeks.
"I beg you to form a pact with me, Ning Shuyin," Caesar said earnestly. "You will not have to bear any obligations. You only need to exist in this world, and everything in the outer star system, all my wealth and power, will be shared with you."
The computer interface was turned towards her. Upon closer inspection, the document turned out to be a "lifetime contract".
Ning Shuyin was taken aback by the sudden contract and forgot to break free.
Why do all these men, one after another, pull out contracts at the drop of a hat?
It seems like only Zhou Zhiheng is somewhat normal now.
She thought about it again and realized something was wrong. There was still that five trillion yuan debt between Zhou Zhiheng and her. For a moment, she couldn't tell which was worse.
But upon closer reflection, she could understand why Caesar did it.
She was able to raze that abnormal space to the ground and find him trapped inside; her strength has been proven by facts.
For Caesar, she was the guiding light he had been searching for for a thousand years.
Not only that.
She can not only guide him home, but she can even find him when he is lost.
But she knew perfectly well the constraints represented by the lifelong contract, so how could she possibly agree to it?
"I just saved you, there's no need for such a big ceremony." She forcefully pulled her hand back.
This movement clearly aggravated Caesar's injury, causing him to groan.
"I'm sorry," Ning Shuyin quickly apologized.
“No, I’m the one who’s sorry.” Caesar looked into her eyes and said, “That test where I hid the reason for our last date, it was my fault…”
He suddenly brought up the old matter again.
However, his words were interrupted by a communication request from Ning Shuyin's wrist-mounted optical computer.
It is Situ Linchen.
Ning Shuyin then realized that she had forgotten to inform the two people after escaping.
Situ Linchen's holographic image was connected. He and Zhou Zhiheng stood side by side.
Upon seeing this, Caesar deliberately put away the contract on the quantum computer.
The two men relaxed slightly when they saw that Ning Shuyin was unharmed.
But when their gaze swept to Caesar, who was lying on the bed behind Ning Shuyin, and saw that his chest was pressed tightly against Ning Shuyin's arm, their expression turned sour.
"Ning Shuyin, how are you? Are you injured?" Zhou Zhiheng asked first.
"I'm fine." Ning Shuyin quickly reported that she was safe. "Caesar and I were thrown into the outer star system by the power of that space, and we are now on his backup warship."
“Send me your coordinates, and I’ll send a warp ship to pick you up immediately,” Situ Linchen said to her, his cold eyes sweeping over Caesar.
“I’m afraid that won’t work, Marshal,” Caesar suddenly interjected. “The little one and I have somewhere else to go.”
After saying that, he deliberately turned slightly to the side in Ning Shuyin's direction.
From a distance, it looked as if his head was resting on Ning Shuyin's forearm.
His unbuttoned undershirt opened even wider with the movement.
From Situ Linchen and Zhou Zhiheng's holographic perspective, the scene was extremely ambiguous—Caesar, disheveled, was feigning weakness as he affectionately rested his head on Ning Shuyin's arm.
Ning Shuyin's innocent and unguarded nature gave Caesar an opportunity to take advantage of her.
"Caesar!" Situ Linchen's voice was filled with suppressed anger.
Ning Shuyin quickly explained, "Marshal, we still have that high-dimensional particle in our hands, and we need to get rid of it as soon as possible. We will find an abandoned star system to destroy it, and then I will return as soon as possible."
Situ Linchen glared at Caesar, who had a defiant look on his face, then looked at the girl's persistent expression, and finally softened his tone.
"Share your real-time location with me. I'll send a fleet to meet you."
"good."
The communication ended, and the medical pod fell silent.
Caesar withdrew his hand and said leisurely, "Looks like you have quite a few men pursuing you, little one."
Ning Shuyin ignored his teasing: "I will not accept the contract."
"Why?" Caesar didn't seem too surprised, as if he had been expecting it.
He reached out and twirled a strand of her hair: "Was it the word 'lifetime' that scared you?"
He caught her evasive gaze and said softly, "Although it's for life, I didn't include any exclusivity clauses. It means you don't have to do anything. And..."
He lowered himself extremely, his warm body leaning close to her as he whispered, "You can form contracts with other people too."
"Give me a chance, even if it's just a nominal connection, hmm?"
This was the first time Ning Shuyin had seen Caesar set aside his arrogance and domineering nature. When this man deliberately displayed vulnerability and allure, he truly possessed a fatal attraction.
She was almost drawn into his deep, ocean-like eyes.
Realizing this, she quickly pulled herself together and distanced herself. The King of the Outer World was no benevolent figure; once she signed an agreement with him, who knew what tricks he might pull, and it would be difficult to extricate herself later.
She shook her head: "No."
It refuses to be clear and straightforward, offering no explanations or justifications. It also leaves no room for ambiguity or vagueness.
Caesar's hope was extinguished.
But he quickly masked his disappointment with a lazy demeanor.
"Alright, it seems my sincerity wasn't enough, and I scared you off. A lifelong contract like this should indeed be prepared to be more romantic."
Ning Shuyin didn't respond to his words. She opened the star map on her personal terminal and realized that they were currently very far from the Alliance.
She glanced at Caesar on the hospital bed and guessed that he had probably used spatial powers to teleport here.
In order to bring the high-dimensional particles to a place far away from the alliance.
He just wouldn't admit it.
Thinking of this, she summoned healing power in her palm: "Machine treatment is too slow. We still have a long way to go, let me do it."
She placed her hand on his forehead.
Caesar smiled slightly and reached out to touch the star map that she hadn't closed yet.
"Our destination is here, Ross. My navigator."
The Wanderer adjusted its course, transforming into a streak of light as it headed towards the first jump point.
Caesar's injuries healed quickly under Ning Shuyin's treatment. Despite the immense pain he had just endured, he remained completely composed.
Only after her hand left his forehead did he slowly button up his inner shirt and speak:
"Little guy, what are your plans after we get rid of this hot potato?"
"What plans?" Ning Shuyin asked.
Caesar's lips curled slightly upwards: "Tartarus has many fun places. I apologize for the unpleasantness of our time together, please give me a chance to make it up to you."
"A new hot spring has been built on Bathing Planet. The water there is rich in energy, and there are many adorable cats and dogs roaming in the natural river connected to the hot spring. After we finish our business, shall I take you for a soak?"
"You can also enjoy a personal massage from the Star Pirate King."
When Caesar said the words "take a bath," he raised the last syllable.
Ning Shuyin shivered.
Caesar's actions are too unpredictable; who knows if the cats and dogs he mentioned are real pets or some strange teenagers?
As for a hand massage...
"No." She shook her head and refused decisively.
"Not going? How about we go to Resort Star? There's a fun swing hotel there..."
Caesar didn't finish his sentence.
"Warning! Warning!"
The control system of the Wanderer sounded an urgent alarm.
"A large amount of unidentified metal has been detected ahead!"
