Chapter 3 First Meeting

It is the spring equinox. It rained last night in Cangya.

This morning the mountains were covered with mist, and the green was as clear as a mirror, making the depth of the scenery more apparent.

The young man walked on the rugged stone path in the mountains, a faint cloud of smoke shrouded him, and the mist from the grass and trees wet the winding hem of his clothes.

He was full of vigor and vitality, yet his steps were firm, neither hurried nor slow. His eyes were calm, without a trace of arrogance.

In comparison, the girl in pink chasing after him seemed much more anxious.

He Yanyun looked at the back of the person in front of her.

Senior Brother Luo had just been appointed as Cangya's first disciple, and he was still wearing a complicated yet dignified formal dress, a change from his usual simple attire.

The outer layer of Xuehua brocade robe is made of green satin, which is finely embroidered with a pattern of vast ocean and ancient pines. The cuffs and collar are finely embossed with cloud patterns with silver thread, and the waist of the outer robe is tied with a green jade knot with a coiled dragon.

As she walked, the layers of her wide sleeves draped down her back billowed like flowing clouds, outlining her tall and straight figure.

Seeing that she was getting farther and farther away from the young man, and about to be left behind, the girl took a deep breath, leaped into the air, and landed in front of the young man, calling out anxiously, "Senior Brother!"

The young man was not surprised, and said calmly, "Junior sister has something to do, let's discuss it after I come back this time."

His facial features were originally sharp and handsome, but because of his gentle temperament, he seemed inexplicably friendly and reliable.

Some people seem to be born with special abilities, and even if they say no, others won't feel the slightest bit of bad feeling towards them.

Luo Mingchuan is such a person.

The girl seemed to be sure of his good temper and continued to block his way, even with a bit of coquettishness in her tone, "Brother, I heard that you asked the head master for the Canglan Order, what do you want to do with it?"

She is naturally pretty and this behavior does not seem rude, but rather highlights the cuteness and innocence of a little girl.

The young man's expression did not change at all, "Junior sister, please go back. I need to go down the mountain."

"Why are you going down the mountain? Why do you need to bring the Canglan Order?" The girl frowned and thought for a moment. Suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something, and her eyes widened. "Cangya Dungeon?!"

"Brother, you are not going to see that Yin guy, are you?!"

The young man remained silent.

He Yanyun knew that Senior Brother Luo would not lie, and this reaction was equivalent to acquiescence.

Therefore, she became even more excited. "Why go see him?! What happened to Xihua Peak? What's so great about it?! It's obvious that he has evil intentions and is plotting to harm us. Brother, you are now Cangya's first disciple, do you still need to be afraid of him?!"

Luo Mingchuan frowned, "Junior Sister He, be careful with your words."

The girl blurted out without thinking, "Did I say something wrong? He should be stripped of his cultivation and driven off the mountain after the public trial in seven days. In my opinion, Xihua Peak cannot protect him from such a serious crime as harming his fellow disciples, even with a sword..."

Suddenly she became speechless, as if an invisible hand had tightly grasped her throat.

A huge feeling of fear surged up, causing her to break out in a cold sweat. This intimidation did not come from anyone or anything around her, but from the fear deep in her heart.

It's not just her, almost everyone in the world is like this.

Even if it is just a little disrespectful when mentioned casually, the fear engraved in the bones will instantly surge up, making it difficult for people to breathe.

Only then did she realize that Senior Brother Luo's reminder to "be careful with your words" was not to stop her from insulting Yin Biyue, but to prevent her from speaking rudely to that person.

What she wanted to say just now was Yin Biyue's nominal master, the master of Xihua Peak who had been traveling for many years - the "Sword Saint" Wei Jingfeng.

She was indeed too carried away, and this was not something she could comment on.

He Yanyun took a deep breath and tried to recover as usual. Her voice became weaker as she begged, "Brother, do you really have to go? Then take me with you. I also want to see what the dungeon looks like..."

Although the young man's tone was gentle, he did not waver at all. He just shook his head helplessly.

"Don't make a scene."

He Yanyun wanted to say something, but she saw the figure in front of her was like ripples on the water, from deep to shallow, and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

She was horrified, but soon realized that Senior Brother Luo could not use this kind of spatial magical power, but now that the Canglan Order was in his hands, he could use the power of the Cangya Mountains to transfer instantly using the formation in the mountains.

The girl stomped her feet in anger.

***************************

The heavy black iron door slowly opened, and the dark gap gradually widened, like an abyss that was ready to devour anyone, and finally revealed its true face.

As soon as Luo Mingchuan stepped in, he felt his breath stagnate. He was a spiritual practitioner, and the feeling of his true energy being restricted was really bad. At first it was just a slight discomfort, but it got worse as he went down the stairs. When he landed, it was as if someone had put an invisible shackle on him.

The guard had already received the message from outside and was waiting for him at the entrance, holding a shark oil lamp with the candlelight barely extinguished.

Luo Mingchuan bowed slightly and said, "Thank you for your help."

The guard dodged his salute and said in a hoarse voice, "I dare not."

Luo Mingchuan knew why he came. He understood that in the Purple Mansion Secret Realm, Yin Biyue really wanted to kill him, and the others were just incidental.

But he didn't understand why Yin Biyue wanted to kill him?

It was clear that they knew each other at Lanyuan Academy. Although they had no contact after joining Cangya, they had no conflicts either.

He looked at the dark and cold dungeon, and felt sad. The young man who was so talented when he first met him had fallen to this state.

Footsteps were heard amid the sound of the night watch, steady and powerful, echoing along the long and narrow corridor.

Yin Biyue, who was leaning against the wall, opened his eyes.

Now that his true energy has been sealed, his eyesight is far worse than before.

Until the figure was five steps away, the candlelight on the lampstand, which was about to go out, illuminated the face of the visitor.

Jade crown, white dress, slender eyebrows and fine eyes...

Luo Mingchuan!

Yin Biyue's pupils suddenly contracted! Every muscle in his body tensed instantly, and he almost jumped up.

Then he tried his best to force himself to relax.

This was the original body's instinctive reaction to the person in front of it, and it had reached such a point that the soul still remained in the body after it had left.

How big of a grudge is this?!

The guard handed over the lantern and withdrew.

Luo Mingchuan looked at the dark cell and called out tentatively, "Junior Brother Yin?"

In the darkness, there was a rustling sound of clothes rubbing against each other, and occasionally there was the sound of iron chains colliding, which was sharp and harsh.

The prisoner approached with the sound of chains rattling and appeared in the candlelight.

His face was pale and his brows were drooped.

He was wearing simple plain clothes without any patterns or ornaments, and his long hair was untied, hanging loosely all over his body.

The dim candlelight shrouded the wide sleeves of his loose white robe, making his thin figure even more prominent.

The young man raised his eyes, and his eyes looked straight at him, deep and cold, like the cold stars in the sky.

Luo Mingchuan was stunned for a moment.

His always sharp intuition told him that something must be wrong. The impression he had of Junior Brother Yin was not like this.

The boy's eyes were always cold and gloomy. Occasionally, when you looked up at him, you felt like you were being stared at by a cold-blooded animal.

But the coldness of the person in front of him was more like a god standing in the clouds and looking down, with an innate indifference.

It made him dazed for a moment.

When I first saw him at the academy, I knew that this junior fellow was very good-looking. Now that I looked at him carefully, I was surprised to find that although the boy's body was not yet formed, his facial features had fully grown, with thin lips, a straight nose, sword-like eyebrows and star-like eyes, without a single flaw.

It looks like a statue in the ancestral hall carefully carved out of mutton-fat white jade, with a lofty and divine look.

But there is not any fireworks or popularity.
