Chapter 10 Appearance of a Treasure Beast

"In a moment of youthful exuberance, I lead a yellow dog on the left and hold a falcon on the right... I will draw my bow like a full moon, gaze northwest, and shoot the heavenly wolf."

"Alright, Cherry, stop reciting." Nanzhi said irritably. She had been trapped all night, and Cherry had been reciting poems in her ear all night long.

To prevent Nan Zhi from causing any more trouble and ruining the marriage, the Nan family locked her in the woodshed.

"Master, you have two days to complete the mission. Don't forget," Cherry reminded him.

A mission? Nan Zhi suddenly remembered that she had a system mission to complete, and there was only one day left. Looking at the moonlight outside the window, it meant that Nan Zhi had to collect the Ganoderma lucidum before dawn.

It was a dark and windy night. Taking advantage of the Nan family being fast asleep, Nanzhi had Yingtao open the door and quietly slip out.

With only one night left, Nanzhi needs to get her hands on the Ganoderma lucidum before dawn.

"Cherry, roughly where is the Ganoderma lucidum located?"

In such a short time, to search the entire mountain, Nanzhi had no choice but to ask Cherry for help.

Southwest.

"As for the exact location, I cannot tell the master," Cherry added.

Nanzhi looked at it seriously, "So what can you do?"

Cherry was stunned. What could he possibly do?

"Wait, Master, I can find food."

The mountain is enormous, stretching for hundreds of miles even to the southwest. They are currently on the edge of the mountain. If the growth conditions for the Ganoderma lucidum are extremely demanding, and if it grows deep in the mountains, Nan Zhi would not be able to reach it on foot alone.

What will happen if we fail to complete the mission?

“Of course, their souls will be obliterated,” Cherry paused and then said, “or like Master before, either being killed or on the way to being killed.”

If that's the case, Nan Zhi would rather be erased by the system. She never wants to experience that feeling of being unable to live or die again.

Nanzhi quickened her pace, hoping to get the Ganoderma lucidum before dawn.

The night was dark, and the moonlight illuminated the snowy night, making it barely possible to see the road ahead.

Despite this, Nam Gyi still faced many difficulties.

She wrapped her clothes tightly around herself, her feet sinking into thick snow. She stumbled with every step, and before she had even gone halfway, her shoes were already soaked.

The mountain was already dangerous due to the heavy snow blocking the way, and the fact that it was nighttime made the path even more difficult to traverse.

Upon reaching a certain spot, Nanzhi instinctively sensed danger ahead and cautiously extended her toes to touch the snow a step away.

The snow was soft, and as her heel touched it, the snow in front of her suddenly collapsed. Nanzhi took a step back and saw a deep crack in front of her, about a meter wide. The light was dim, and she couldn't see the depth of the crack. If she fell in, the consequences would be unimaginable.

"That was close." She breathed a sigh of relief.

Snow fell on the dense, withered branches in the crack, covering the crack. The thick snow made the already overburdened branches even more fragile; if she had stepped on it just now, she would have fallen.

The crack was more than a meter wide, making it difficult to cross directly. Nanzhi looked around and found a few sticks under a tree not far away. If she put them across the crack, she could get across.

Nanzhi dragged the heavy wooden sticks and placed them one by one on the crack, then tried to walk a few steps, and it was indeed possible.

Nanzhi happily walked across the small bridge, and not far behind her, several green lights flickered.

As she walked, Nanzhi suddenly noticed a small creature covered in white fur curled up on the snow.

She carefully approached and discovered that the little one was injured.

The little thing, about half the size of a palm, was carefully picked up by Nanzhi and examined closely. It looked like a little fox or a little bear cub. This thing looked really strange.

"Cherry, give me some medicine for my wounds."

Cherry's eyes lit up when she saw the little beast in front of her.

"Could this be a legendary treasure beast?"

"A treasure beast?" Nan Zhi had never heard such a strange name before.

Cherry continued to explain, "Legend has it that there is a mythical beast that can recognize all the treasures in the world. Anything they discover is priceless."

Nan Zhi's eyes lit up, and she looked at the little one in her arms with even more affection.

It seems she's struck gold.

With this little thing tucked into her bosom, wouldn't it be incredibly easy to become rich? Before long, she'll be back where she started.

“What a pity,” Cherry continued, “This little thing is only two months old and hasn’t awakened yet. It doesn’t know how to distinguish between different rare treasures. Only adult treasure beasts can find treasures through their sense of smell.”

When will the treasure beast reach adulthood?

Cherry: "It takes three hundred years to reach maturity."

Nam Gyi's plans, which he never had the chance to put into practice, were thus extinguished.

Three hundred years!

It outlived her; this thing was still a child, and it could even outlive her grandson.

Alright, alright, Nanzhi applied the medicine to it, then tore off a strip of cloth from her body to wrap the wound on the little guy's paw, and then placed it in a relatively hidden and safe place.

"Master, aren't you going to take it with you?"

Nanzhi shook her head. Another mouth to feed means another mouth to feed. She can't even support herself now, how can she take on a burden?

Nanzhi packed up and continued on her way.

The higher you go, the sparser the forest becomes, and the steeper the mountain slopes become.

"How could such a rare thing as Ganoderma lucidum grow in a place like this?" Nan Zhi sighed and continued on her way.

It took another three hours to reach the summit of Nam Gyi.

Nanzhi looked at the scene before her in amazement. Who would have thought that the top of the vast mountain was actually a volcanic crater?

It appears that the entire mountain was formed by a volcanic eruption, and Taile Village is located at the foot of the mountain. If a volcano had erupted, wouldn't the ancient people, who had no knowledge of anything, have been unable to escape?
