Chapter 25 Discussing a Matter

After everyone left, Nanzhi secretly glanced at Song Hanyan and breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that he didn't ask anything.

After all, it's really hard to believe that a young girl could take down eight wolves all by herself.

Song Hanyan skillfully picked up a wolf, separating the skin from the meat. Nanzhi couldn't bear to watch the bloody scene, so she went to the kitchen to cook.

After thinking about it, Nanzhi decided to make some oil-splashed noodles. She hadn't had noodles for a long time since she came here, and she had been dreaming about the aroma of dried chili peppers on noodles being splashed with hot oil for the past two nights. She was really craving them.

The water in the vat was drawn by Song Hanyan earlier, and Nanzhi added some spiritual spring water to it early in the morning.

The spring water is just like ordinary water, so others naturally wouldn't notice anything special about it.

However, the water with the spiritual spring water tasted much better than the original.

Even without boiling the water, it's fine to drink it raw.

Scoop a spoonful of white flour with a gourd ladle, pour in the spiritual spring water, knead the dough, let it sit for a while, and when it's almost done, Nanzhi cuts the dough into small strips, coats them with oil, and lets them sit for a while longer.

While she was at it, Nanzhi boiled a pot of water. Once the water was boiling, the noodles were almost done.

The small strips are stretched into noodles about two fingers wide, then thrown into boiling water, cooked, and taken out.

Sprinkle with various seasonings, then sprinkle dried chili peppers and chopped green onions on top, and finally pour hot oil over them.

It sizzled and crackled, and the aroma spread with it.

Song Hanyan finished dealing with the third wolf, and Nanzhi's meal was ready.

The aroma wafting from the courtyard had already made Song Hanyan's stomach rumble.

"Dinner's ready!" Nanzhi placed two bowls of noodles on the table.

Song Hanyan washed his hands, tidied himself up, and sat down at the dining table.

"What kind of noodles are these?" he asked curiously.

Moreover, it was a way of eating that he had never seen before.

"You should try this oil-splashed noodle soup."

Under Nan Zhi's expectant gaze, Song Hanyan picked up a piece of food with his chopsticks and put it in his mouth.

The aroma and spiciness of the chili peppers exploded in her mouth, and Song Hanyan's eyes lit up. She quickly shoveled the noodles out of the bowl.

I was drenched in sweat throughout the whole process.

Cool!

This was the only word that came to Song Hanyan's mind.

I never imagined that eating could be so enjoyable.

After finishing their meal, Song Hanyan automatically took over the task of washing the dishes.

Today's events served as a wake-up call for Nan Zhi, reminding her that the Nan family would come knocking again.

Today was the last day Song Hanyan returned. They were afraid of Song Hanyan, but if there were no Song Hanyan for a day, she would only be bullied.

What can be used for self-defense?

As Nanzhi lay in bed, she was overcome with fatigue from the day and soon felt sleepy.

When Song Hanyan returned after washing up, he saw that the little woman was already asleep in bed.

Afraid of disturbing her, Song Hanyan quietly got into bed, careful not to startle the person beside him.

But today's events made him wonder what she was hiding from him.

Even someone with extensive experience wouldn't be confident that one person could kill so many wolves.

But the people around him didn't seem willing to explain.

Song Hanyan looked at the people around him, a complex emotion flashing across his face.

When I woke up the next day, Sun was waiting at the door with the carriage harnessed to him.

One person couldn't carry so many wolves, so they had to call Sun Zheng for help.

Nan Zhi warmly invited Sun Zheng to come in for dinner, but Sun Zheng quickly declined, and she didn't want to force him to come in.

Spring grass has already sprouted this season, and some wild vegetables have also emerged on the mountain.

Women and girls who have nothing to do at home will take advantage of this time to go up the mountain to dig for wild vegetables.

Nanzhi carried a basket up the mountain, where many people were already digging.

The vacant lot was cleared out, so Namgyal had to find another place.

As she walked past a certain place, Nanzhi spotted the two people she least wanted to see.

“Hey, isn’t this our wolf-hunting hero?” Zhao Hui said, a basket slung over her wrist.

It sounded like a compliment, but Nanzhi sensed a hint of sarcasm in it.

But what on earth is this "wolf-fighting hero"?

Seeing her expression, Zheng Zhiyi, who was squatting beside her, explained, "You don't know yet, do you? Ever since you brought the wolf back yesterday, the whole village has been talking about it. They've given you the nickname 'Wolf-Fighting Hero.' Aren't you happy?"

Nanzhi shook her head to indicate that she was not very happy because it was too high-profile.

But who is this girl?

"Who are you?" Nan Zhi asked, as if she had seen him before.

Zheng Zhiyi couldn't believe that there were still people in the whole village who didn't know her name.

“My father, Zheng Xinghai, is the village chief.”

Oh, you must have connections.

"But you have to be careful, your sister-in-law is not someone to be trifled with."

When she reminded her, Nanzhi took it as a well-intentioned gesture.

"Thanks."

Wherever Zhao Hui appears, nothing good ever comes of it, so Nan Zhi decided to avoid her.

With so many people around and the horse moving so fast, Zhao Hui couldn't say anything.

"Grandma Liu, there are no vegetables at my feet, why are you blocking my way?" Zhao Hui said, displeased.

Grandma Liu looked up and said, "Oh, I'm getting old, my eyesight is failing."

Zhao Hui was furious; this was clearly an attempt to stop her from causing trouble for that woman. She really didn't understand what was so great about that woman that Granny Liu was protecting her.

Nanzhi found a secluded spot, took out the medical manual from the basket, and then took out the precious beast.

After the space was sealed off, the treasure beast could no longer enter. It was unknown where the creature had hidden last night. Its white fur had now turned completely black. Nanzhi disdainfully tossed it aside.

Despite his initial disdain, this guy still had some skills, and in no time he found several medicinal herbs.

She didn't need to worry about anything throughout the whole process, Nanzhi suddenly thought of something.

She squatted down in front of the treasure beast.

"Bao'er".

The beast shivered, its disdain evident in its eyes. When had its master ever called it so affectionately?

Nanzhi grabbed him by the neck: "Shall we discuss something?"

"From now on, the tasks in the medical record will be assigned to you. I know you are the best. Look at me, I don't recognize any of them, unlike you who can identify them just by smelling them."

The beast initially thought its master had some ulterior motive and was wary, but after Nanzhi praised it, it instantly became arrogant.

Its two paws were clasped together, looking incredibly proud.

Now you know how powerful I am, right? Don't worry, leave it to my treasure beast; it's just a few herbs.

Nanzhi understood his actions, put the treasure beast on the ground, and it ran away in a short while.

With him there, Nanzhi felt at ease carrying the medical manual on his back while she went to dig for wild vegetables nearby.

"Hey, where did this dog come from?" Liu Wancai looked over curiously.

Its fur was jet black, but its eyes were blue; he had never seen a dog with blue eyes before.

The beast, inspired by its master's boasting, resolved to work hard and lay on the ground sniffing around in search of medicinal herbs.

Suddenly his neck was lifted up again, this time by someone he didn't know, and he began to struggle violently.

"Why are you carrying a book on your back?" Liu Wancai picked it up, glanced at it, and then threw it on the ground in disgust.

The book is full of scribbled nonsense; I can't understand a single one of it.

If we take this dog back, my brother will probably be very happy.

The beast kicked its legs, trying to call out to Nanzhi, but the person first pinched its mouth shut, preventing it from making a sound.
