Chapter 56 A complete mess

After spending two days in the county town and explaining the restaurant's renovation plan, Nanzhi rushed back without stopping.

Sun Zheng had already gone back in the morning, so the two of them had to rent a horse-drawn carriage to return.

After getting off the bus, Nanzhi saw Xiao Li San'er busy in front of the rabbit cage.

Little Li San'er was delighted to see Nan Zhi and said, "Big sister, you're back! I've already fed the rabbits."

Nanzhi nodded and said, "Thank you for your hard work."

She then took a box of pastries from the car and handed it to him.

"I can't accept this."

Nan Zhi: "You've fed the rabbit well; you deserve it."

Little Li wiped his hands with his clothes and took the exquisite pastry box.

"Thank you, elder sister and brother-in-law."

Nanzhi opened the door, and the house was still the same as before.

"It's still more comfortable staying at home," Nanzhi remarked.

Song Hanyan changed his clothes as soon as he entered the room.

"Zhizhi, I'm going to check the traps on the mountain,"

Nan Zhi nodded. After Song Hanyan left, she lay down on the bed for a while and then entered the space.

Da Bao and Er Bao hadn't seen Nan Zhi for two days, and as soon as they saw her, they excitedly ran over and kept rubbing against her.

The treasure beast tilted its head back in disdain, "Useless."

"Why isn't Da Bao coming over?"

When summoned, the treasure beast came running over eagerly.

His master called him over; he didn't come on his own initiative.

It must be said that, after being nurtured by the spiritual energy of the space, the two wolf cubs have very smooth fur, and it feels great to the touch.

Its body also seemed to have grown a bit, even larger than the treasure beast.

When Nanzhi looked up again, she saw the mess in the room and felt terrible.

“Da Bao, Er Bao, San Bao,” Nan Zhi shouted through gritted teeth, “You’ve gotten quite bold.”

The medicinal fields in the space were almost all trampled by the claws of several beasts, leaving them crooked and twisted.

There were still paw prints of a small animal on the top of the leaf.

Some were simply pulled out and thrown on the ground, while others were even bitten beyond recognition.

"Damn it!" the beast immediately retreated.

The two clubs are still rubbing against each other there.

Nanzhi was heartbroken. In her eyes, this was all pure silver, and it had turned into this state after only two days away.

Five minutes later, three small animals were hanging neatly upside down on the clothes rack in the yard.

In the end, the treasure beast could not escape Nanzhi's clutches.

The beast covered its face with its two furry paws the whole time, making a complete fool of itself. If the little animals on the mountain saw it like that, would it even want to live?

Fortunately, the sun is setting, and it will be dark soon.

The two wolf cubs were still quite curious about being hung on the clothesline.

They kept swaying back and forth, like swinging on a swing, having a great time.

Nanzhi took advantage of the time to clean up the mess in the space.

Take out the usable medicinal herbs and dry them in the sun. Bury the unusable ones directly in the soil of the space as fertilizer.

When I came out again, there were already some stars in the sky.

The three beasts were sleeping soundly with their limbs dangling down.

Nanzhi put the three little ones down and threw them into the rabbit cage without any mercy.

The next day, the treasure beast was awakened by a foul stench.

"Aaaaah, who locked this beast in the rabbit cage?"

In another rabbit cage, the rabbits hid inside their burrow, too afraid to come out.

Two wolf cubs waited outside the den, occasionally pawing at the rabbits, who huddled together, shivering.

After Nanzhi got up, she brought out the three little ones.

"You three, stand still!"

The three little ones dared not move.

"If you dare touch my herbs again, I'll chop you all up!" Nan Zhi threatened, the kitchen knife in her hand gleaming coldly.

Erbao and Sanbao finally realized the danger and huddled together, too afraid to look at Nanzhi.

Nanzhi was just trying to scare them.

Seeing that they were afraid meant I had achieved my goal.

She picked up the two little ones and said earnestly, "These days, money is hard to earn. At your age, eating half a pig per meal is very expensive."

The two wolf cubs developed intelligence while staying in the space, and their current intelligence is about that of an eight-year-old human. Naturally, they can understand what Nanzhi is saying.

"Be good, the things in the space are all for making money to support you, so you have to take good care of them, otherwise you'll only be able to drink plain porridge in the future."

Drinking plain porridge was alright, but the two wolf cubs were terrified and deeply regretful.

Just think of all the medicinal herbs that have been damaged these past few days; they must be worth several pigs.

They hung their heads in frustration, muttering as if apologizing.

Seeing that it had worked, Nanzhi continued, "Take good care of those medicinal herbs. When we make money in the future, we'll make sure you have meat to eat every day, a whole pig for every meal."

The two wolf cubs instantly felt the urge to protect the medicinal herb field.

Nanzhi finally understood how her boss used to make empty promises to them when she was working.

They don't give me a single penny, yet they constantly use psychological manipulation tactics.

This is the result of being manipulated: regret, frustration, and self-loathing for not being strong enough.

Seeing the two wolf cubs with their heads down, Nan Zhi's displeasure vanished completely.

It seems like this pie in the sky needs to be drawn up often.

Seeing the two obedient children tricked by their master, the treasure beast couldn't help but roll its eyes.

What kind of people are these?!

When did the owner ever feed the two cubs meat?

The two wolf cubs were still young, and their owner hardly cared for them, treating them like both father and mother.

Since Song Hanyan wasn't home for breakfast, Nanzhi took the cured meat down from the eaves and stir-fried it simply.

A fragrant dish of stir-fried cured pork was served, and the three of them, smelling the meat, kept sniffing it.

Unfortunately, its legs are too short to jump onto the table, so it can only squat under the table and drool.

One bite, and the fragrance lingers on your lips and teeth.
