Bang!
In Wangxiangyuan Restaurant, a crisp sound came from a private room; it was the sound of a plate being smashed.
"Xia Xingchen, are your eyes on your face just decorations? Can't you see at such a grown-up?" Cui Jingshu pointed at Xia Xingchen and said angrily.
"She bumped into me by herself. It has nothing to do with me." Xia Xingchen explained in a cold tone.
"You're still trying to make excuses." Choi Jung-sook pointed at the broken cutlery on the floor. "Facts speak louder than words. How dare you say it had nothing to do with you?"
"Apologize to the girl."
Xia Xingchen said stubbornly, "If she wants to apologize, she should apologize to me."
"You..." Cui Jingshu was so angry that she was shaking all over, and her brain was a little short of oxygen. She took a deep breath and asked angrily with each word, "I'm saying this for the last time. Apologize to them."
Xia Xingchen said coldly: "Don't even think about it!"
As soon as she finished speaking, Cui Jingshu raised her hand, about to slap Xia Xingchen, but Xia Xingchen quickly blocked it. She squeezed Cui Jingshu's wrist hard and said sadly and disappointedly, "You have no right to hit me, because in my eyes, you... are nothing."
Whether in the past or now, Xia Xingchen has never acknowledged that Cui Jingshu is her mother.
No matter what she did, it was wrong in Choi Jung-sook's eyes. In fact, her very existence was the biggest mistake.
Shaking off Cui Jingshu, Xia Xingchen sat straight down in his seat.
After hearing what Xia Xingchen said, Cui Jingshu did not feel a bit guilty. Instead, she felt that Xia Xingchen was even more arrogant.
It would be better to have no daughter like this. She hated herself for not strangling her to death when she was just born!
She sat next to her eldest daughter, Xia Xingkong, and her mood finally eased a little.
The waiter brought the menu up, and Cui Jingshu snatched it away and placed it in front of Xia Xingkong, saying lovingly, "My dear daughter, look at what you want to eat?"
Her eldest daughter is definitely the "other people's" child in other people's eyes. She is one in a million in terms of temperament, appearance and studies. Especially with her long, thick black hair, she is the "white moonlight" in the eyes of many boys.
As soon as she saw her, Cui Jingshu felt happy, because she was not admiring her daughter's beauty, but more like admiring the jade she had carefully carved, which was perfect and flawless.
The old man sitting next to Cui Jingshu looked at Xia Xingchen with a worried look on his face, feeling deeply moved: They are both her daughters, so how can there be such a big difference?!
This old woman is Cui Jingshu's mother. She knows that Xia Xingchen doesn't care about Cui Jingshu's attitude towards her, but she still feels sorry for her when she sees it.
The meal was served quickly and was very plentiful, consisting mostly of Xia Xingkong's favorite dishes.
Cui Jingshu picked up meat and vegetables for Xia Xingkong, and occasionally for her husband Li Zhenglin and grandmother, but she never picked up any for Xia Xingchen.
However, Xia Xingchen didn't care, she really didn't care.
The three people at the table were talking and laughing while eating, and the atmosphere was very warm. Grandma hardly moved her chopsticks, and Xia Xingchen, who was not liked by Cui Jingshu, didn't even touch the chopsticks.
Except for grandma, no one cared whether Xia Xingchen ate it or not.
It wasn't until they were almost done eating that Li Zhenglin noticed that Xia Xingchen hadn't picked up her chopsticks yet, so he asked with concern, "Xingchen, why aren't you eating? Is it not to your liking?"
Xia Xingchen didn't raise his eyes, nor did he even give him a micro-expression.
Li Zhenglin seemed a little embarrassed, so he continued, "Are you still angry about what happened just now?"
"Don't bother with your mom. She's got a sharp tongue but a soft heart. Look, I have some free time, so your mom asked me to take you out for dinner."
At eight o'clock in the evening, Li Zhenglin brought his whole family to Wangxiang Garden for dinner. He was usually very busy, and it was rare for him to have some free time today. He originally just wanted to invite his wife Cui Jingshu to spend some time together and cultivate their romance, but Cui Jingshu insisted on bringing the whole family, saying that it was a rare opportunity for the whole family to get together. Li Zhenglin couldn't persuade Cui Jingshu, so he had to agree.
Hearing this, Cui Jingshu looked in the direction of Li Zhenglin, her eyes full of tenderness. She was very glad that she did not marry the wrong person this time.
She and Li Zhenglin are a couple who got married later in life. Li Zhenglin's original wife died a long time ago, and even Li Zhenglin thought that he would never marry again in his life. It was not until he met Cui Jingshu that he decided to remarry.
Choi Jung-sook has fair skin, beautiful looks and noble temperament. She is a rare beauty. She was once a very popular singer, but she retired for her family.
After her first marriage failed, when she wanted to make a comeback, she found that there was no place for her in this mixed circle.
Then she looked at Xia Xingchen again, and her face suddenly darkened.
Looking up, I saw that she had a neat short hair, a black shirt and a pair of ripped jeans. She was chewing a lollipop in her mouth, making a loud crunching sound. She looked so cool, as if she didn't take anyone seriously.
Cui Jingshu was furious when she saw her like this. She put down her chopsticks with a bang, crossed her arms over her chest, and said angrily, "Xia Xingchen, you are an adult, but you still like to eat snacks so much that you don't even eat your meals. How greedy are you?"
"You should learn from your sister. Eat when you should eat, study when you should study. If you can be even one ten-thousandth as good as your sister, I will be very happy."
It would have been fine if Cui Jingshu hadn't complained, but when she did, Xia Xingchen seemed to be deliberately irritating her and slammed her legs down on the stool. This completely infuriated Cui Jingshu. She stood up without caring about her image, pointed at Xia Xingchen, and said angrily, "Look at you, do you still look like a girl? If it weren't for your grandmother, I would have thrown you out in the countryside to fend for yourself..."
