Chapter 24 I'm short an assistant

This reply was somewhat unexpected, and certainly not what Jiang Yimei had anticipated.

She originally thought that Lin Congzhi, who had always been against her, would try every means to find loopholes in her self-criticism or weekly report, even if they were as small as grains of sand, and then use these loopholes to criticize her, make things difficult for her, and humiliate her.

It seems that Lin Congzhi still has some normalcy and humanity.

"Since there are no problems, I'll be going now."

With a sigh of relief, she got up from the sofa and left the office with light steps.

However, less than three seconds later, a turning point that few people who had escaped unscathed expected to hear arrived.

"but…"

Jiang Yimei's slender legs seemed to be stuck, coming to an abrupt stop.

However, this means there's a problem; this means Lin Chongzi is trying to trick her.

The anger that had been extinguished suddenly reignited and surged instantly.

Enraged, she immediately turned around and demanded, "Lin Congzhi, are you trying to play me again?"

Lin Congzhi remained calm and asked in a composed manner, "With your performance declining, don't you really think it's your own fault?"

Jiang Yimei lowered her eyes, her gaze softening, and asked, "What do you want to say?"

Lin Congzhi: "Your weekly report is substandard. To be precise, your business skills are substandard. You don't even know the most basic sales common sense that 'there are no wrong customers, only inadequate service.' How can you be an excellent salesperson?"

Jiang Yimei immediately understood what Lin Congzhi was referring to, and logically retorted, "Those clients aren't selling our kind of products at all, so why bother talking to them?"

Lin Congzhi retorted with a mix of harshness and gentleness: "Distributors have their own circles. Just because he doesn't buy doesn't mean his friends won't. Besides, what if one day he suddenly has such a customer or such a market? Wouldn't you miss a business opportunity? Wouldn't the company lose a source of revenue?"

Jiang Yimei remained adamant: "Those are all hypothetical questions, and the chances of them happening are extremely slim."

Lin Congzhi was so angry he didn't want to speak. He asked sarcastically, "Jiang Yimei, you want to make money but don't want to do it seriously. Why make things difficult for yourself?"

Jiang Yimei had had enough of Lin Congzhi's two-facedness and responded firmly: "Lin Congzhi, I will handle my own affairs. I don't need your interference or meddling."

Provoked, Lin Congzhi angrily rebuked, "At work, I'm your superior; here, I'm talking to you about work matters, do you understand what I mean?"

"Anyway, I just need to meet this month's sales target," Jiang Yimei replied.

“If you want to coast along, you might as well go into administration, HR, or be an assistant. Perfect timing, I need an assistant, so how about…” Lin Congzhi’s expression changed, and he looked suggestively at the alluring Jiang Yimei, smiling broadly, “You can be my assistant!”

Jiang Yimei responded as if she had heard a ridiculous joke: "You? I, Jiang Yimei, would rather eat dirt than be an assistant to a vicious wolf like you!"

"He has backbone, I like that."

A bloodthirsty smile played on Lin Congzhi's lips; he was quite pleased with the unruly prey before him.

Jiang Yimei had had enough of Lin Congzhi's teasing gaze and didn't want to stay there a second longer. She asked coldly, "Is there any other problem?"
