With doubts in her mind, she strolled back to her seat, sat down, and began to work diligently.

Jiang Yimei gritted her teeth and replied, "That bastard Lin Congzhi has gone missing and wants me to beg him to come back. I will never bow down to him."
Yao Yao's heart tightened: "Playing hide-and-seek? He didn't come to work?"
Jiang Yimei replied angrily, "He hasn't come all day."
Yao Yao confided a worry she least wanted to hear: "Really? What if he does something rash?"
Jiang Yimei's lips curled up, thinking this was the biggest joke in the world: "How could that be? He's a money-grubbing, selfish man, he wouldn't do something so stupid."
Yao Yao frowned and reminded him, "Yi Yi, Lin Congzhi really likes you. The way you yelled at him and blamed him last Saturday, he might really do something drastic."
Jiang Yimei still treated it as a joke: "You like me? Don't be ridiculous, I don't believe it."
Yao Yao still wanted to offer some advice: "Yi Yi, I know you've been hurt by him, but what if he changes his mind and loves you to death?"
Jiang Yimei retorted, "What does that have to do with me? He was stupid and didn't cherish his own life. Who can I blame if he dies? Besides, he arranged everything perfectly. There was no way anything could have happened."
"Well, anyway, think it over carefully."
Unable to persuade her otherwise, Yao Yao had no choice but to leave. However, she genuinely hoped that Jiang Yimei would show some concern for Lin Congzhi, so that he wouldn't be too heartbroken later.
Jiang Yimei didn't take it seriously and continued to approve the documents.
Not long after, her heart began to race.
Actually, it wasn't the beginning. Ever since Yao Yao made that ominous guess, her heart had never been at peace; she was always uneasy.
Although she was sarcastic, she cared about Lin Congzhi to some extent, after all, he was her first love and had been treating her exceptionally well lately.
If Lin Congzhi really becomes depressed because of her, she will carry a great sense of guilt in the future.
