Chapter 29 The Sun Shines Like You

Jiang Yimei answered firmly: "No, we didn't fight!"

Yao Yao: "Then why did you write a self-criticism?"

"I was trying to catch the guy who gave me Wanglaoji herbal tea and calming tea today, so I arrived at the company early and hid in the stairwell. But then Lin Congzhi popped out of the stairwell, scaring me half to death. Then I noticed that the bulge in his briefcase looked a lot like a thermos, so I used that little trick to fool him. When he found out later, he was furious and made me write a self-criticism and hand in my weekly report early," Jiang Yimei replied.

"So it really was Lin Congzhi who did it," Yao Yao said thoughtfully.

The fact that he didn't take the elevator but emerged from the stairwell shows that he had already guessed Yi Yi's actions beforehand; and all of Yi Yi's actions were simply to capture the person who was so considerate to her; only unrelated people would ignore this matter; only those with ulterior motives or who wanted to take advantage of Yi Yi would play along.

Jiang Yimei wholeheartedly agreed with this view and said excitedly, "That's right! I asked him, but he still refused to admit it no matter what. He's utterly shameless."

"So what are your plans next?" Yao Yao asked with concern.

Jiang Yimei replied confidently, "I've already warned him that if he dares to harass me again, I'll report him to the general manager and have him pack his things and leave."

However, why did Yao Yao find this angry reply so unbearable? "Yi Yi, I told you you couldn't bring yourself to do it; if it were me, I would have gone to the general manager to report him as soon as I found out."

Jiang Yimei explained with a touch of kindness, "After all, he hasn't committed any heinous crimes, so let's give him a chance to reform."

Yao Yao leaned back on the sofa and sighed in exasperation, "Oh well! Whatever! I don't think he'll give up so easily."

This is based on her experience from watching a lot of Korean dramas and teen idol dramas, so it can't be wrong.

"If he doesn't know what's good for him, then I'll have no choice but to fire him."

"I hope you can be more ruthless next time."

Yao Yao didn't have much hope for this best friend.

Because whenever Yi Yi encountered that expressionless man, she would become timid and hesitant, as if she had shrunk halfway, unable to muster any courage.

After dinner, Jiang Yimei watched TV with Yao Yao for a while, then went back to her room to get her clothes, washed up, and went to bed.

I figured everything out today and said what I wanted to say, so I can finally get a good night's sleep.

Lying in bed, Jiang Yimei felt more relaxed than ever before; gradually, she fell into a deep sleep.

The next day, she went to work as usual, in an unusually good mood.

She skipped and hopped into the company, smiling and greeting every colleague and superior she encountered.

When her colleagues and superiors met her, they all felt that she was a completely different person. They wondered if she had won the lottery or gotten a promotion and a raise yesterday.

She greeted everyone along the way, and before she knew it, she had arrived at her seat.

When she was about to put down her bag and sit down, she suddenly noticed something on the computer desk that didn't belong to her.

This thing is a yellow sunflower.

The sunflower was placed in a small white ceramic vase, facing her, as if it were smiling at her.

The flowers are brightly colored and full of vitality; they look fresh.

Moving your gaze downwards, you'll see a yellow sticky note stuck to the vase.

The note had four words written on it: "The sun shines like you."

Without a doubt, this must be Lin Congzhi's doing.

Jiang Yimei was furious and immediately ran to the office, where she angrily rebuked Lin Congzhi: "Lin Congzhi, did you ignore what I said last night?"
