Seeing her standing there awkwardly, Lin Congzhi smiled and asked, "How about it? Can you still do it?"
Jiang Yimei brazenly said, "Lin Congzhi, give me President Li's phone number."
Lin Congzhi replied without changing his expression: "If you agree to let me hold your hand, I'll give it to you."
Jiang Yimei frowned, her anger barely contained: "Do you really have to force me like this?"
"I took your hand purely out of gentlemanly manners. Didn't you see other men and women doing the same thing?"
Lin Congzhi pointed to the couples around him who had come to the banquet and asked confidently.
Jiang Yimei retorted, "That's because they're a couple, not you and me."
Lin Congzhi offered a barely plausible reason: "I came with you, so even if we're not a couple, we can still hold hands."
Jiang Yimei countered, "Then why didn't you take Yaoyao's hand?"
Lin Congzhi's words make sense: "The person I'm pursuing is you."
Jiang Yimei spat out in disgust, "Shameless!"
Lin Congzhi not only didn't feel ashamed, but proudly said, "That's right, I am such an open and honest person."
Faced with such a shameless and unscrupulous person, Jiang Yimei had no choice but to leave: "Since I can't get in, I'm leaving."
After she and Yaoyao had taken a few steps, Lin Congzhi, caught off guard, pretended to be calm and said, "This place is in a remote location, and it's dark. Plus, you're wearing high heels, so it'll be hard for you to get back. You might even get robbed or assaulted."

Lin Congzhi said righteously and sternly, "Precisely because of this, I cannot let you leave."
"What kind of twisted logic is this?"
Lin Congzhi calmly explained, "You went to all this trouble to come here to attract clients and discuss business. How could I let your efforts go to waste?"
Jiang Yimei said aggrievedly, "Since you know my original intention, you shouldn't make things difficult for me."
Lin Congzhi asked, puzzled, "Girl, it's just holding hands. We'll let go of you once we're inside. What are you afraid of?"
Jiang Yimei explained, "I don't want you to take advantage of me at all!"
The two were locked in a stalemate, and as Lin Congzhi's "right-hand woman," Yao Yao couldn't help but lend a hand: "Yi Yi, since we're already here, why don't we try to hold hands?"
Jiang Yimei looked at Yaoyao with tears in her eyes and asked with heartache, "You really want me to be taken advantage of by him, don't you?"
Yao Yao explained, "No, it just felt like two arms crossed and stacked together were like two wooden sticks stacked together, without much emotion or tactile feeling involved."
Jiang Yimei's expression turned fierce: "Are you saying that it's pointless for us to hold hands like this?"
Yao Yao retorted: "No, you and I are best friends, of course we have feelings for each other. You and him are just superiors and subordinates, no different from strangers. You won't have any feelings for him, and he won't have any improper thoughts about you."
Jiang Yimei sneered, "He has inappropriate thoughts about me every day, yet he says he won't. What a joke."
