Kao Chia-kai described his current situation: "But we don't have electric water heaters right now."
He understood boiling water to mean boiled water, because in China, boiled water is almost a panacea; drinking it when you're sick or have menstrual cramps will greatly relieve them.
Yao Yao wasn't concerned about the present, but rather whether Gao Jiakai would agree: "When we get back to the hotel, can you cook for me?"
Kao Chia-kai didn't understand: "You can cook it yourself, why do you need me to cook it?"
Yao Yao explained, "I want you to cook for me."
Gao Jiakai reacted as if facing a formidable enemy, immediately resisting: "Don't push your luck!"
"They're not feeling well and have difficulty moving around, and you won't even help them out."

"No problem," Gao Jiakai readily agreed. "What do you want to buy?"

These items can basically only be found in Chinese supermarkets.
Gao Jiakai didn't quite understand why Yao Yao wanted to buy these things.
Why did you buy these things?
"Drink it!"
Gao Jiakai frowned: "Why would you eat something like this out of the blue?"
Yao Yao: "Don't you know that drinking brown sugar ginger water helps a woman a lot when she's menstruating?"
"I really don't know."
Gao Jiakai was a little embarrassed.
He finally understood why Yao Yao insisted on him boiling water; it turned out she wanted to enjoy his care.
