Jiang Ze tapped her nose: "You're the only lazy pig in the whole world."
Jiang Yimei disagreed: "Who said that? I've beaten 50 percent of the world's population."
Jiang Ze: "Where did you get those numbers?"
Jiang Yimei said mischievously, "I said it."
"Still as mischievous as ever." In a better mood, Jiang Ze changed the subject and asked, "Are your parents awake?"
Jiang Yimei: "She's awake. She went out to buy groceries."
Jiang Ze: "It seems that your uncle and aunt got up quite early."
Realizing it was cold outside, Jiang Yimei pulled Jiang Ze upstairs: "Hurry up and go up, don't stand here in the cold."
"Um!"
...
This isn't my first time visiting Jiang Yimei's hometown.
Not much has changed here; the decorating style is basically from the 80s and 90s.
Sitting on a wooden sofa, Jiang Ze waited for Jiang Yimei to return after washing up.
After washing up and applying some light makeup, Jiang Yimei came out of her room.
The tea had already been poured for Jiang Ze, so after coming out, she sat down directly next to him.
"Jiang Ze, did you come here just to visit my parents?"
Jiang Ze saw the longing in Jiang Yimei's eyes.
He came not simply to visit Jiang Yimei's parents, but to borrow some money from Jiang Yimei to tide him over.
His parents ordered him to come back for the Mid-Autumn Festival to pay off some of the family's debts.
He certainly wouldn't reveal his true purpose so quickly, otherwise the conversation between the two would be very awkward: "I'm visiting my aunt and uncle, and while I'm at it, I'll also visit you, my dear."
Jiang Yimei's eyelashes curved into crescent moons: "Really?"
"Um!"
"Thanks, dear!"
Jiang Yimei was overjoyed and immediately threw herself into his arms, because Jiang Ze hadn't come to visit her in a long time.
Jiang Ze felt that Jiang Yimei was relatively naive.
However, what would happen to Jiang Yimei if he told the truth?
Unconsciously, he felt a little scared, afraid that Jiang Yimei would be heartbroken and furious.
...
After chatting for about half an hour, Jiang's parents returned from outside.
Upon entering, they spotted the person they hated most, and their expressions immediately turned grim.
"Who sent you?"
Jiang Zegang stood up, intending to greet his parents, but was immediately reprimanded by his mother.
This left him feeling helpless and at a loss.
Sensing Jiang Ze's awkward situation, Jiang Yimei turned around and blamed her mother: "Mom, today is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Jiang Ze just wanted to come and visit you."
Jiang's mother remained calm and said, "I appreciate his kindness, but tell him to leave quickly."
Jiang Yimei continued to scold, "Mom, guests are guests, how can you be so rude and kick them out?"
Jiang's mother: "Didn't we agree on three rules last time? Before we have a house and a car, he is not allowed to set foot in our Jiang family home."
Jiang Yimei couldn't understand: "Are houses and cars really that important?"
Jiang's mother: "It is of utmost importance to my daughter's future happiness."
Jiang Yimei retorted, annoyed, "I don't need these material things."
Jiang's mother launched into a tirade, trying to wake her foolish daughter from her naivety: "In the real world, there is no such thing as romantic love, only the mundane realities of daily life."
Driven to the edge, Jiang Yimei glared angrily and demanded, "How do you know it doesn't exist?"
Jiang's mother: "This is an experience I've gained from my own life over several decades."
Jiang Yimei: "Your thinking is too extreme; I can't understand it."
