Chapter 61 Don't Question My Choice

Jiang Yimei was extremely depressed.

She hadn't even agreed to be Lin Congzhi's secretary, yet Lin Congzhi was bullying these innocent colleagues. It was utterly despicable.

She didn't want to be a secretary, she really didn't want to, she absolutely didn't want to, so she opened the door and went in to tell Lin Congzhi the truth.

"Snap!"

The moment I opened the door and stepped inside, I was greeted by a scene unlike any I had ever seen before.

Lin Congzhi's office had an extra desk and an extra seat. Most strangely, the extra office chair was not an ordinary chair, but a massage chair.

Why did Lin Congzhi put a massage chair in front of this desk? Does she want to reverse the roles and make me the one in charge? Is she trying to prank me? Or does she have some other hobby?

Lin Congzhi's mentality can be quite perverse at times. He used to mess with her hair for no reason, turning her beautiful hairstyle into a bird's nest.

She had to be wary of this person, so she carefully stepped inside and quietly approached Lin Congzhi.

The man was as aloof and handsome as ever, exuding heroic spirit, but his gray pupils and icy face, which remained unmoved, made people afraid to approach him.

Lin Congzhi was working with one hand, while the other hand was nowhere to be seen.

Before Jiang Yimei could speak, he arrogantly declared, "Sit!"

Jiang Yimei was not allowed any room for rebuttal.

“Sit? Where should I sit? She didn’t agree to be his secretary.”

Calming herself down, Jiang Yimei cleared her throat and flashed a beautiful smile, saying respectfully but politely, "Manager Lin, my abilities aren't suited for being a secretary, could it be...?"

Upon hearing this, Lin Congzhi frowned, his handsome face scrunched up like a crumpled piece of paper, extremely displeased: "Don't question my decision."

Jiang Yimei was unwilling to give up and said with some difficulty, "But I really have no experience in that area."

Lin Congzhi bluntly rejected this reason: "If you don't have it, you can learn it slowly."

Jiang Yimei was so angry that her face turned ashen, and her eyes narrowed into sharp daggers, as if she wanted to tear the person in front of her to pieces.

Is Lin Congzhi forcing her to stay in his office to disgust her?

When you need someone's help, it's best to be polite. So he deliberately suppressed his anger and tried his best to remain calm: "But... I don't want that fixed salary."

All this fuss and procrastination, isn't it just her way of trying to escape his clutches? Lin Congzhi won't let her succeed.

"I'll give you a raise," she said, meeting Jiang Yimei's eyes with a rather arrogant air. "It'll be more than your previous base salary plus commission."

What does this mean? Does it mean she's greedy? Does it mean she's here to extort money?

That's not what she meant at all!

He then hurriedly explained, "No, no, no! I don't need your charity. I want to earn my reward through my own abilities."

Having brought the matter to this point, Lin Congzhi dropped the pretense and revealed the truth: "Do you despise me, or do you really think you can't be a secretary?"

This question needs to be answered seriously, otherwise all our previous efforts will be in vain.

After calming down, Jiang Yimei answered sincerely, "I don't dislike you. I just really feel that I am not worthy of this position."

Although there was a slight aversion in my heart.

The words were not meant to be malicious, but Lin Congzhi seemed to be provoked and immediately flew into a rage: "Jiang Yimei, don't you even have this much self-confidence? Then what kind of salesperson are you?"

Jiang Yimei was startled and at a loss for words by the sudden outburst of anger: "Who...who said that to be a salesperson, you have to be...be a secretary first?"

Lin Congzhi's eyes blazed, and he retorted sharply, "Don't get things backwards. I'm talking to you about self-confidence."

Jiang Yimei mustered her courage and replied, both defiant and fearful, "I'm willing to be a secretary, but... but I really don't want to mess up this job."
