Fu Qinian blushed and looked away.
He coughed lightly and said somewhat awkwardly, "Um... why don't you go back to your room and change your clothes first, and then come over?"
"What?"
Huo Jinning was still in shock at seeing Fu Qinian's well-defined abs.
I couldn't understand what the other person meant at first.
“I mean… go change your clothes.” Fu Qinian’s embarrassment became more and more obvious. After hesitating for a moment, he repeated what he had just said.
"Ah!" Only then did Huo Jinning finally come back to her senses as if waking from a dream. She looked down at the loose pajamas she was wearing and immediately blushed.
Without saying a word, she turned and ran away like a gust of wind, even forgetting to close the door to Fu Qinian's room.
With a loud bang, Huo Jinning rushed into her bedroom and slammed the door shut.
"My God! What am I wearing?! I actually went to Fu Qinian's room in my pajamas. It's so embarrassing! God, please take me away! I'm too ashamed to face anyone!" Huo Jinning leaned against the door, muttering to herself.
Despite her frustration, she had no choice but to quickly change her clothes.
After all, she still had important matters to discuss with Fu Qinian.
In fact, Fu Qinian, who was left alone in the room, was not in much better condition. His heart was pounding, his breathing was rapid, and he even felt a little breathless.
Not only that, he felt hot all over, and fine beads of sweat kept appearing on his forehead.
Left with no other choice, Fu Qinian went into the bathroom and took a cold shower to relieve his discomfort.
However, he only soaked in the cold water for a short while before hurriedly coming out, afraid that Huo Jinning would come back later.
He tried to calm himself down and stop thinking about Huo Jinning, but his thoughts were like a wild horse that was hard to control.
Meanwhile, after lingering in her room for a long time, Huo Jinning finally had to return to Fu Qinian's room.
...
"Um... I just did some calculations. Grandpa Fu's lifespan hasn't ended yet, and he's now seriously ill and bedridden. It's probably because he was framed. So you need to keep an eye on the people around Grandpa Fu, especially his closest relatives." Huo Jinning's cheeks flushed slightly, and she didn't dare to look Fu Qinian in the eye, clearly having something to hide.
At this moment, Huo Jinning was very glad that she had met Fu Qinian as a fortune teller, which also explained how she knew so much.
"Really?" Fu Qinian asked knowingly after regaining his composure.
The two tacitly agreed not to mention what had just happened.
"Well, you can start your investigation by focusing on the medication."
"Okay, thanks for reminding me, I understand what to do now," Fu Qinian replied attentively.
"You know I'm very accurate, so you must take this seriously," Huo Jinning added, still concerned.
"Yes, it concerns my grandfather, so I will take it seriously, I promise," Fu Qinian replied earnestly.
"Well... if there's nothing else, I'll be going now," Huo Jinning stammered.
Then she turned around and prepared to leave this embarrassing place, but because she was too nervous, she accidentally tripped and fell forward uncontrollably.
In the blink of an eye, Fu Qinian quickly reached out and caught Huo Jinning, who was about to fall to the ground.
However, due to the suddenness of the incident and the excessive force of the impact, the two eventually fell to the ground together due to inertia.
At this moment, Huo Jinning was lying in Fu Qinian's arms and was fine; but Fu Qinian made a dull thud when he landed on his back—just by the sound, you could tell it must have hurt a lot!
At this moment, there was almost no space between them; they could even clearly hear each other's heartbeats.
As their increasingly rapid breathing intertwined, the atmosphere at the scene suddenly became extremely ambiguous.
"Get up first..." Fu Qinian said, trying to appear calm.
"Oh...okay!" Huo Jinning finally came to her senses and tried to get up from Fu Qinian.
Perhaps due to her panic, she tried several times but failed to get up and instead fell back onto Fu Qinian.
"Hiss..." This time, Fu Qinian couldn't help but gasp, a feeling that was hard to describe welling up in his heart—it felt both uncomfortable and vaguely comfortable.
To make matters worse, his body seemed to be experiencing some subtle reactions as a result.
Meanwhile, Huo Jinning, still struggling to get off him, continued to move around...
"I'm so... I'm so sorry! I'm really sorry!!" Huo Jinning hurriedly apologized repeatedly, realizing that she had caused trouble again.
Huo Jinning flipped over and fell to the ground, no longer bothering Fu Qinian, and quickly got up.
"How are you? Are you hurt? Let me help you up." Huo Jinning quickly squatted down and carefully reached out to support Fu Qinian's arm.
"I'm fine," Fu Qin replied softly, and with Huo Jinning's help, he slowly sat up straight.
"That's good..." Huo Jinning breathed a sigh of relief when she heard Fu Qinian say that everything was alright.
But then she asked nervously, "So how are you feeling now? Is there anything else I can do for you?"
Fu Qinian shook his head slightly, indicating that he was fine.
