Chapter 29 Qian Chengfeng's Wishful Thinking

After exchanging pleasantries with everyone for a while, Qian Chengfeng left.

After getting on the bus, he changed his expression, his face turning furious, his eyes bloodshot as if he were about to breathe fire.

His fists clenched so tightly that his nails dug deep into his palms, and his anger erupted like a volcano.

"Young Master, you're back? Would you like to have lunch at home?" the butler asked respectfully.

Qian Chengfeng ignored the housekeeper's words.

He strode into the study like an enraged wild beast.

After entering the study, I closed the door.

He saw the items on the desk and swept them all to the floor.

Books, documents, pen holders—everything instantly became a mess.

Then, he turned around and suddenly pulled open the drawer, dumping out all the clutter inside to vent his dissatisfaction.

His breathing became rapid, his voice trembled, and he kept cursing.

However, this did not lessen his anger; instead, it enraged him even more.

He raised his foot and kicked the bookshelf hard, causing it to shake and the books to fall one by one.

Finally, he sat exhausted in his messy study, his anger gradually subsiding and replaced by deep weariness and helplessness.

After calming down, he leisurely summoned a servant to tidy up the messy study.

Then, he moved to the wardrobe, carefully selected an outfit and changed into it. In the blink of an eye, he transformed back into the elegant and dashing young nobleman.

If anyone were present to witness this moment, they would probably find it hard to imagine that the person who had just been so furious was actually the gentle and refined gentleman before them.

"Ziheng, there's something I want to ask you. Are you aware that the Huo family did not participate in this bidding?" Qian Chengfeng dialed Zhao Ziheng's number and asked directly.

"What!" Zhao Ziheng's astonished voice came from the other end of the phone, his volume suddenly rising by more than eight octaves, filled with disbelief.

"So it seems you know nothing about this either. They clearly don't fully trust you, hiding even something this important from you," Qian Chengfeng said with regret.

Qian Chengfeng thought to himself, since the other party was unwilling to leave him a way out, then he didn't need to show any mercy either.

"Is this really true? Do you have a reliable source?" Zhao Ziheng still had doubts and kept asking.

"Yes, I have specifically sent someone to check, and the Huo family did not submit a bid." Qian Chengfeng naturally understood that everything had to be thoroughly investigated.

"Do you think they might have already found out what's going on?" Zhao Ziheng asked worriedly, a hint of fear in his voice.

"It shouldn't be. This matter is only known to you and me; there is absolutely no third person who knows the situation."

"Then tell me, why did they suddenly withdraw their bid? Huo Nanchu just held a meeting yesterday specifically to discuss this bidding process," Zhao Ziheng asked, full of suspicion.

"After they return, we'll inquire further from the sidelines, and then we'll naturally know the truth." Qian Chengfeng truly hadn't expected that Huo Nanchu and the others would receive the news ahead of time.

They grew up together and were practically inseparable. Qian Chengfeng always felt he knew Huo Nanchu quite well, as he was always a very trustworthy friend.

What's more, this time one of them was his closest friend, and the other was his own cousin.

"Let's leave it at that for now! Anyway, we should try to minimize contact during this period to avoid arousing Anan's suspicion," Qian Chengfeng suggested.

"Okay, sure," Zhao Ziheng replied and hung up the phone.

After speaking with Zhao Ziheng on the phone, Qian Chengfeng returned to the company to discuss countermeasures. Before the news leaked out, they wanted to pass on this hot potato in the eastern suburbs to someone else.

After much deliberation, Qian Chengfeng decided to give the money to the Zhou family, who knew little about business matters and were therefore the easiest to deceive.

Qian Chengfeng personally dialed the phone number of Zhou Haoran, the eldest son of the Zhou family.

"Young Master Qian, what made you decide to call me today?" Zhou Haoran asked with a hint of doubt.

They didn't actually have much interaction; they had only met a few times before because of Huo Nanchu.

"Haha, Young Master Zhou, it's like this, I saw Uncle Zhou also go to the bidding meeting today, but it seems he didn't get the land he wanted. So I'm just asking, which piece of land did your Zhou family originally intend to bid on?"

Qian Chengfeng paused for a moment and then continued, "Today I successfully acquired a pretty good piece of land, in the eastern suburbs."

"However, when I got back to the company, I found that we had several projects going forward at the same time, and I was simply too busy to devote any more energy to developing the project in the eastern suburbs."

“You know my relationship with Anan, and I also know that your family and Anan’s family are quite close. So my first thought was to ask your family if they need this land. If they think it’s useful, then I’ll give it to you first.”

“Of course, if you don’t need it, I’ll ask around at other places,” Qian Chengfeng said sincerely.

"Thank you, please wait a moment while I ask my father and then call you back," Zhou Haoran replied.

"Alright, alright," Qian Chengfeng quickly replied.

"Bye-bye." Zhou Haoran hung up the phone first.

"Bye-bye." Qian Chengfeng hung up the phone as well.

Zhou Haoran knew very well that his family's plan this time was to go to the eastern suburbs, but he felt it would be better to ask his father first.

To be honest, Zhou Haoran had never really liked Qian Chengfeng. He always thought Qian was a profit-driven person who was good at business, but definitely not a friend worth getting close to.
