Chapter 39 Sun Yueru's Divorce (Part 2)

"Take a look at this divorce agreement. When you got married, you signed a prenuptial agreement stating that if you are the party at fault in the divorce, you will leave with nothing."

Sun Yueru paused for a moment, then continued, "I am not a cold-hearted person. Here is a card with ten million in it. Consider it a token of our affection as husband and wife over the years."

After saying that, she gently placed the card on the agreement.

"Wife, no, I don't want a divorce!" Zhang Hai's voice was filled with frustration and pleading as he tried to win Sun Yueru back.

However, Sun Yueru's reply was unusually firm and cold: "I'm not discussing this with you, I'm just informing you."

Her tone was as hard as steel, leaving no room for negotiation.

"Do we really have to get a divorce no matter what?"

Zhang Hai's tone suddenly changed, no longer as flattering and gentle as before, but instead filled with anger.

“Yes, there’s absolutely no room for negotiation,” Sun Yueru replied without backing down.

“You’ve always been so domineering. Outsiders only know you as the eldest daughter of the Sun family, while I’m just a live-in son-in-law.” Zhang Hai’s words revealed deep dissatisfaction and helplessness.

“But how could this company have achieved its current success without my hard work?” He became increasingly agitated.

"Alright, now that you've succeeded, you want to kick me to the curb and leave me penniless? Do you think that's possible?"

"Are you trying to fob me off with a mere ten million?"

“I’m telling you, no way! I know perfectly well that you’ve never respected me. You not only despise my appearance, but you also look down on my family…” Zhang Hai shouted angrily.

"You've always seen me this way?" Sun Yueru asked, her eyes wide with disbelief.

"Yes, that's right, that's exactly it! And it's not just me who thinks this way, it's you, and your whole family, it's always been like this."

“Over the years, your family has always treated me like a thief, and in the company, your eldest brother has made all the decisions, big and small.”

"And me? I'm just a wage earner. I've had enough!" Zhang Hai retorted indignantly.

"You can have a divorce, but you must have custody of the child. Also, you have to give me 10% of the original shares of the company. Otherwise, no divorce is an option!" Zhang Hai, insatiable and greedy, demanded an exorbitant price.

Immediately afterwards, a crisp, loud slapping sound rang out—"slap, slap, slap!"

"Great, very good, you've finally gotten to the bottom of things, haven't you?" Sun Yueru clapped her hands and leaned back heavily on the sofa.

"You've only given birth to two daughters after all these years of marriage. I'm the only son in our family. Aren't you trying to make my family line die out?"

“I’m looking for someone outside entirely because you couldn’t give birth to a son! It’s all your fault, who told you not to have a son?” Zhang Hai said shamelessly, as if everything he did was perfectly justified.

“Yes! You desperately want a son so he can inherit your shameless nature,” Sun Yueru replied with a cold laugh, her words dripping with sarcasm.

Before Zhang Hai could retort, Sun Yueru continued, "Alright, I'm too lazy to argue with you anymore. Originally, out of consideration for our years of marriage, I was thinking of giving you some face, but now it seems there's no need."

"Take a look at this first, and then consider whether you want to continue this messy situation."

In fact, it was only after Zhao Yihan's incident that Sun Yueru realized how little she actually knew about Zhang Hai.

So she secretly sent people to investigate. The results surprised her greatly, and many hidden truths gradually surfaced.

This person is incredibly audacious, daring to use substandard materials instead of high-quality ones in commercial buildings in order to make huge profits!

What's even more despicable is that he also used his status as the son-in-law of the Sun family to embezzle a large amount of funds from the company's finance department... and all of this money was used to support his mistress!

"This...this..." Zhang Hai looked at the irrefutable evidence in his hand, so frightened that his hands trembled uncontrollably, and he couldn't even utter a complete sentence.

"If it weren't for my two daughters, I wouldn't have tolerated it at all, and I wouldn't have wanted to make things too embarrassing."

“Otherwise, do you think you’d still have the chance to sit here and talk to me? You should have been locked up in jail long ago!” Sun Yueru said angrily.

"Wife, let me explain..." Zhang Hai finally realized the seriousness of the problem, but he didn't know how to salvage the situation.

"Shut up! Don't call me 'wife' anymore, it makes me feel disgusted! You better not try anything funny with our two daughters, sign the divorce papers right now, and then disappear from my sight immediately!" Sun Yueru ruthlessly interrupted Zhang Hai's explanation and coldly issued her final ultimatum.

Faced with such a resolute attitude, Zhang Hai understood that the marriage had come to an end and no amount of effort could salvage it.

He silently picked up the pen, as if he were holding not an ordinary pen, but the weight of the entire world.

Every stroke and every line seems to be a farewell to the past, while also declaring war on the future.

Zhang Hai did not regret choosing to divorce, because he knew clearly that he had long since lost all feelings for Sun Yueru, and that he only endured her every day because of the Sun family's money.

However, to his regret, he did not receive any more benefits during the division of the property.

But this did not dampen his confidence. He firmly believed that with his own abilities and talents, he would be able to make a comeback sooner or later, crush Sun Yueru under his feet, and make her regret her decision today.

Zhang Hai quickly packed his belongings and moved out of the home that had once been filled with laughter without any regrets.

Sun Yueru was indifferent to this, seemingly completely unconcerned about what Zhang Hai had taken away.

For her, being able to get a divorce smoothly was a relief; getting away from this painful marriage actually made her feel much better.

Although there is still some pain deep in my heart, the feeling of relief is even stronger at this moment.

Sun Yueru decided to hand over all the dividends she had received from the Sun Group over the years to her eldest brother, with only one purpose—to make up for the damage to the commercial building caused by the decision-making error.

Now that the problem has been exposed, the only solution is to tear it down and start over, building a new building from scratch.

Otherwise, if the situation is allowed to continue unchecked, and larger problems arise, the Sun Group will lose public trust.

Fortunately, Zhang Hai only had problems with one building at the beginning; otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.
