Chapter 55 The Gathering of Three

Huo Nanchu has his own private room at MG, which he doesn't need to entertain other guests. He only uses it when he needs it or when friends need it.

The sofas in the private rooms are all made of the finest imported leather, the walls are decorated with exquisite ornaments, the screens cover an entire wall with clear picture quality, and there are also advanced audio-visual equipment, with a wide selection of songs to satisfy all needs.

Huo Nanchu came straight here after work, still wearing a black suit. After entering the private room, he took off his jacket, leaving only a white shirt. The collar was slightly open, and the cuffs were rolled up to his arms, revealing fair skin, a high nose bridge, and deep-set eyes. He held a wine glass in his hand, looking relaxed with a smile on his face.

Zhao Ziheng was wearing a gray suit. His skin was a healthy color. He had a high crown, a broad forehead, full temples, and a well-defined jawline. He wore glasses and looked as gentle and refined as a gentleman.

Only Qian Chengfeng was dressed in a red casual suit, his eyes crinkling with laughter, his skin fair, his facial features well-defined, with thick eyebrows and large eyes, three-dimensional features, a short distance between his eyebrows and eyes, parallel double eyelids that made his eye contours more obvious, his eyes slightly drooping at the corners, and deep eye bags. He wore a blue diamond earring on one ear, and when he smiled, he looked at everyone with deep affection.

The three people gave off three completely different feelings.

"It's been a long time since I've felt this relaxed," Qian Chengfeng said slowly, taking a sip of his wine.

"That's right, we're so busy all day that we can't even find time to get together and chat."

Huo Nanchu leaned back slightly, resting his body on the soft leather sofa.

“Before, I could see Anan every day since we worked together, but starting tomorrow I will be returning to the Zhao Group, and it won’t be so easy to see each other again,” Zhao Ziheng said softly.

"What? You're going back to the Zhao family tomorrow?" Qian Chengfeng asked in astonishment, his voice rising slightly involuntarily.

They had not been in contact since their failed attempt to use the land in the eastern suburbs to severely damage the Huo family.

Upon hearing this, Qian Chengfeng was extremely shocked, and a sense of worry welled up in his heart: Could it be that Huo Nanchu had already discovered what happened last time, which is why Zhao Ziheng left the Huo family?

“Well, I’ve been following Anan and my uncle for two years now, and I’ve learned enough. I should put it into practice more, instead of just talking about it on paper all the time,” Zhao Ziheng explained.

“That’s true, but why was the decision made so suddenly?” Qian Chengfeng asked again.

"Actually, this can't be said to be very sudden. After all, my father has been hoping that I could go back and help out for a long time. It just so happens that my second brother also started working at the company recently, so naturally I have to go back with him," Zhao Ziheng said in a relaxed tone.

"Ziyi is back? I've never heard anyone mention him before?" Qian Chengfeng asked in surprise.

In an instant, he understood why Zhao Ziheng wanted to return to the Zhao family so suddenly, and his doubts were dispelled.

"He just got back not long ago, so he's probably been quite busy lately and hasn't had much free time yet. Once he's finished with his work, he'll probably find an opportunity to get together with you old friends," Zhao Ziheng replied with a smile.

"It's normal to be busy since you just got back. Also, Ziyi, are you planning to stay in China for a long time now that you're back?" Qian Chengfeng asked again.

"Yes, that's right, he's staying this time," Zhao Ziheng nodded in affirmation.

"That's good too, it's better to be in the country than abroad."

"I've heard that many people outside are talking about something going on with that piece of land in the eastern suburbs. What's your Qian family's opinion on that?" Zhao Ziheng suddenly asked, feigning curiosity, as if he had just remembered something.

"I haven't started work here yet. I'm just worried that something might go wrong. If it turns out to be true, it would be troublesome. I've already asked someone to try digging to see if there's anything there. If there is, I can report it immediately," Qian Chengfeng quickly explained.

Meanwhile, Huo Nanchu, sitting to the side, remained silent, simply watching the two perform their duet, occasionally taking a sip of his wine.

Qian Chengfeng couldn't help but turn his gaze to Huo Nanchu, who was sitting to the side, and asked in confusion, "Why haven't you said much today?"

Huo Nanchu gently put down her wine glass and replied calmly, "It's not that I don't want to talk, it's just that I already know what you're talking about, so there's nothing to say. I'll just listen to what you two have to say."

Upon hearing this, Qian Chengfeng nodded thoughtfully, but then changed the subject, saying in an ambiguous tone, "In that case, why don't we talk about your relationship with Ye Lan?"

Upon hearing this, Huo Nanchu became serious: "I don't have much of a relationship with Ye Lan, so there's nothing to say. In the future, let's not compare the two of us anymore, so as not to cause unnecessary trouble for each other."

Qian Chengfeng was slightly surprised by Huo Nanchu's sudden serious attitude.

He quickly explained, "You don't need to be so serious. Back when Ye Lan injured her foot, wasn't it you who asked me to help? And from her words, it's not hard to see that she still thinks about you. So I wanted to ask for your thoughts."

"Even so, that's her personal matter and has nothing to do with me. You should know me; once I've made up my mind, I'll never turn back easily, especially when it comes to relationships."

"It's just a pity that your relationship of so many years has been wasted..." Qian Chengfeng sighed softly, a hint of regret in his eyes.

Huo Nanchu shook his head silently and said, "There's nothing to regret, it's just that we weren't meant to be."

His voice was calm and firm, without the slightest fluctuation.

Seeing this, Zhao Ziheng quickly interjected, "Alright, alright, let bygones be bygones! Let's not bring up those unhappy things anymore. We didn't gather here today to talk about these things."

As he spoke, he raised his glass, gesturing for everyone to toast.

"Yes, yes, yes! Let's drink! We're not leaving until we're drunk!" Qian Chengfeng chimed in.

He casually picked up the wine glass in front of him, drank it down in one gulp, and showed the empty glass to the others as a sign of sincerity.

"Haha, alright! Let's see who gets drunk first." Huo Nanchu finally revealed a smile, a sly glint in his eyes.

The three of them then raised their glasses, clinking them together, and tilted their heads back to drink the wine...
