Sui Yuzhu had no appetite at the moment and was indeed very tired.
So, she just lay down in the back and fell asleep.
After sleeping for an unknown amount of time, she was woken up by Qin Yue.
I opened my eyes and looked around blearily.
It was getting light outside and the sun was already high in the sky. It looked like it was around eight or nine o'clock.
The people coming and going around were all dressed very simply.
Basically, the colors are black, blue and gray.
The houses around here are not tall either, they are all made of earthen bricks.
The tallest one is the three-story building in front of them.
On the wall next to it hung a sign with black letters on a white background, with the words "Bai Tong County Ankang People's Commune Revolutionary Committee" written in large letters.
It seems that the name here has not been changed yet and it has become the township government.
Qin Yue handed over a piece of cake and said, "The police station is just ahead. Eat first before going in."
Sui Yuzhu nodded slightly, reached out to take the cake he handed over, and said thank you softly.
After eating the cakes, Qin Yue took them into the commune compound.
The police station set up an office in the commune compound. There were not many people there, only four in total, including the director and the household registration police.
Sui Yuzhu followed Qin Yue into the office, and several people who were chatting turned around and looked over.
"What's the matter?"
Several people looked over at the same time, their faces serious, and they looked quite intimidating.
Their gazes moved around Qin Yue's body, and finally landed on Sui Yuzhu, whose face was covered in wounds.
Qin Yue was not frightened by their looks and said, "We are here to report a case."
A few of them looked at each other, straightened their faces, and motioned for them to come in and sit down.
Qin Yue stepped aside and let Sui Yuzhu sit on a stool beside her. He stood beside her but did not sit down.
A policeman took a notebook and started asking what the report was about.
“I was trafficked!”
The police looked at each other and frowned slightly.
He didn't continue recording, but simply asked, "You said you were trafficked? Which village were you taken to?"
They had already inquired yesterday and found out that there was another village at the foot of the mountain besides the one where they settled.
They also found out the name of the village, which was Niejiashe.
So Sui Yuzhu told him the name of the village.
After hearing her words, the police looked her up and down and put down the pen in his hand.
Seeing the undisguised inquiry in his eyes, Sui Yuzhu frowned slightly.
"If you say so, then you're right!"
He leaned back, a hint of amusement flashing in his eyes, "Someone from the Niejiashe Brigade reported the case yesterday."
Sui Yuzhu frowned even more tightly.
She raised her head and glanced at Qin Yue.
Qin Yue stared at the police with deep eyes.
The police officer continued, "You're the newly married daughter-in-law of the village's old Shi family, right? As soon as you walked in, you stole everything valuable from their house and ran away. And now you're so bold as to report it, claiming to be a victim? Are you trying to turn the tables?"
Sui Yuzhu's hands and feet suddenly turned cold.
She had seen on the Internet before that police in some places would also side with the villagers, and she never expected that such a thing would happen so openly in front of her.
Qin Yue looked at the policemen exchanging glances, narrowed his eyes, and without saying a word, he quickly reached out, grabbed Sui Yuzhu's wrist, and walked out.
Before Sui Yuzhu could say anything, he pulled her out.
Before the people in the room could react, he had already pulled Sui Yuzhu onto the donkey cart.
"Dongfang, go!"
Xiang Dongfang didn't understand what was going on, but after hearing Qin Yue's words, he quickly drove the donkey cart away.
When the police reacted and picked up their bicycles to chase them, they found that they had disappeared.
Xiang Dongfang cracked the whip vigorously and turned back to ask, "What's wrong? Didn't you go in to report the crime? Why are you coming out again?"
Qin Yue snorted lightly: "Birds of a feather."
He just saw a notebook on the table, and the name written on it was "Nie".
Judging from the way he just took sides, Qin Yue didn't believe that he had nothing to do with that village.
If we continue to wait, there will be only two possible outcomes.
Either they were arrested or Sui Yuzhu was sent back to the old Shi family in the village.
Sui Yuzhu's whole body was stiff.
She couldn't imagine what would be waiting for her if she came to report the case alone.
She is just an ordinary college student. Although her parents are divorced, she has always been cared for by her mother and has never experienced any hardship.
Now that she encountered such a thing, she was completely panicked, and her head seemed to be filled with mud and paste.
Xiang Dongfang looked worried, "So what should we do next?"
Qin Yue turned his eyes to look at Sui Yuzhu, then looked at Xiang Dongfang, "Go to the post office."
"Why go to the post office?"
Xiang Dongfang was a little confused.
Sui Yuzhu also looked up at him.
"Call my mother."
Xiang Dongfang was even more puzzled: "What's the point of calling Aunt Lin?"
Even if Aunt Lin is a prosecutor, she is far away in Shanghai and cannot help now.
What's more, she is just an ordinary university professor. What's the point of calling her?
"I remember one of my mother's students works at the county public security bureau here. I'll ask her about it."
After hearing his words, Sui Yuzhu also ignited hope.
Soon, the three of them arrived at the post office.
