Chapter 198 Even Death Cannot Kill

There were four figures in total.

One of them was a male angel with wings on his back. This man had a numb expression, and his long gray hair was draped over his handsome face, making him look lifeless.

One was a tall man with two heads and four arms. One of his heads was that of a young man, and the other was that of an old man. He held two corroded large knives on his four arms. Some areas of his corpse had rotted and were even still flowing with bodily fluids.

One was a white ape that walked upright. Its expression was equally numb and calm. It held a sharp black gun in its hand, and there were some grayish-yellow stains among its snow-white fur.

The last one is a human with purple skin and a slender figure.

These four figures were all emanating a dense, dim yellow mist, and an aura of death emanated from them.

In Lu Ning's view, the white mist inside their bodies was extremely dense.

Even the Qinglan Saint and his companions sensed that these four figures were extraordinary.

The most powerful among them was the man with two heads and four arms; his mental pressure had even reached the Saint level!

A Saint-level being who has died!

It's easy to imagine how powerful this is.

Behind these four figures, the surging river was probably the source of the sound of the river they heard outside the light screen.

The underworld...

Lu Ning could vaguely see corpses floating in the dim yellow river water.

Some bodies were intact, some had decomposed, and some were reduced to skeletons.

All the bodies floated downstream in the river.

The river's course leads both into the depths of the wilderness, its end invisible.

As for the other side of the river.

Lu Ning looked up, and suddenly his pupils flickered.

He saw something that seemed familiar to him.

A golden halo...

This is... the light spot Lu Ning saw when he entered the mist?!

Lu Ning's eyes widened slightly, and her breathing quickened.

Qinglan Saint and the others, who were watching the four figures warily, noticed that Lu Ning's condition seemed a little off.

An Lan immediately looked at Lu Ning and asked in a low voice, "Lu Ning? What's wrong?"

Lu Ning snapped out of his daze, his expression returning to calm, and said, "I think I can see the path I walked out of here."

These words caused everyone else to widen their eyes in astonishment.

Saint Qinglan asked in astonishment, "...You mean the path you took to escape the mist back then??"

Lu Ning nodded: "Mm."

An Lan looked across the river and saw the golden halo as well. She exclaimed in surprise, "You mean that halo??"

"Um."

Jerry asked, somewhat confused, "But that aperture looks very small! It's only about the size of a fist. How did you get out?"

Lu Ning explained, "At that time, I tore open an exit in that light circle and walked out."

These words silenced everyone.

Even the Azure Mist Saint couldn't understand how to tear a hole in a halo located in the air.

Sometimes, the things Lu Ning said made them feel that he seemed a bit crazy.

However, Lu Ning's mental pollution level was 0, which was different from what they expected.

In the silence, Saint Qinglan took a deep breath and said, "Let's talk about the light circle later... First, let's figure out how to deal with these guys."

While they were talking, the four figures had been standing there like statues, watching them.

At this moment, they seemed to gradually awaken, their bodies moving slowly, from stiff to fluid, and then slowly approaching them.

An Lan and the others all frowned.

An Lan glanced behind her; behind them seemed to be an invisible barrier.

The horde of zombies was behind them, but dared not approach even a fraction of a second.

"These four devilish things are not to be trifled with."

Saint Qinglan nodded slightly, and a long-handled scythe appeared in his hand.

He said slowly, "I'll deal with the one with two heads and four arms first. You guys hold off the rest."

Jerry and the others nodded solemnly.

Saint Qinglan paused for a moment: "Protect An Lan well."

The others nodded again.

An Lan smiled and said, "There's no need to protect me specially. My armor has strong defensive capabilities, and I'm not the weakest when I wear it."

Saint Qinglan simply smiled and said nothing more.

The next moment, Saint Qinglan made the first move.

He stretched out his hand, and a fierce wind swirled and raged, enveloping the two-headed, four-armed monster.

The two-headed, four-armed monster roared in the gale, its violent power surging as it tried to tear the storm apart.

However, the next moment, the Saint Qinglan flicked his hand and immediately flung the two-headed, four-armed monster out, sending it flying dozens of kilometers along the dim yellow river.

The Azure Mist Saint rose into the air and followed closely behind.

Considering the uncertainty of the river's condition, the Azure Mist Saint dared not rashly throw the monster into the river or onto the other side.

Even the Azure Mist Saint dared not fly across the river.

Fortunately, the riverbanks on both sides are also quite spacious.

This gave him considerable room to fight, so as not to affect An Lan and the others.

The battles of Saints are so destructive that even the aftershocks are unbearable for high-level Awakened Ones of the eighth and ninth ranks.

They could even be seriously injured if they're not careful.

After the Azure Mist Saint made his move, the other three figures seemed to be completely activated.

Three figures, their bodies swirling with a dim yellow mist, rushed towards Lu Ning and his group.

Lu Ning's expression was indifferent, and the Killing Ring in his hand turned into flowing black water, instantly engulfing him.

In a single breath, the Ring of Slaughter transformed into armor.
