Chapter 256 Bone Sand Desert, Expanding Space

After arranging their formation, the group stepped into the depths of the mist.

After walking for about half an hour, Lu Ning frowned.

In his line of sight, the concentration of mental pollution ahead suddenly increased significantly.

This location is still on the outer edge of the 233rd fog, which wasn't the case when I came here last time.

Not only Lu Ning noticed this, but An Lan, who had been holding the instrument, also noticed it.

He frowned and said, "There's something wrong with Fog 233. The fog density in this area wasn't this high last time."

Everyone was taken aback. Yann looked at Lu Ning and asked, "Didn't the border fortress outside notice anything unusual?"

Lu Ning shook his head: "I haven't heard of anything unusual."

Normally, once an anomaly is detected in the fog, the border fortress will notify the base city immediately.

However, given that the border fortresses lacked the capability to venture deep into the fog to observe, it is understandable that they were unaware of the anomalies deep within the fog.

Even though Lu Ning and the others were outside the mist just now, they didn't know that the inside of Mist No. 233 seemed different from before.

It's worth noting that Lu Ning, An Lan, Jerry, and Steve had all previously entered the Fog of Number 233.

Because the fog was getting thicker, Lu Ning and the others became more cautious.

After walking for another ten minutes or so, the scenery suddenly changed.

They were in a wilderness, but beyond that lay an endless desert.

This caused An Lan, who had been watching the scene ahead, to widen her eyes in disbelief.

Jerry and Steve were equally shocked.

"How is that possible?! I didn't see any desert when I came here last time!" Jerry exclaimed.

Ya'en and the others frowned.

"Was the last time you explored the Fog of Number 233 more than a year ago? More than a year ago, there was no desert here?" Yann confirmed.

"Yes, this area was a wilderness when I came here last time." An Lan possessed super intelligence, so her memory was naturally excellent.

Upon hearing this, Yann and the others became serious.

"Such a huge change in the landscape in just over a year, something must have happened here." Osiris's gaze swept around, his golden eyes flashing with fiery light.

After thinking for a moment, Yann said, "Let's go in and take a look."

Lu Ning nodded and strode towards the desert.

As soon as he entered the desert, Lu Ning felt a wave of heat hit him.

The high temperature made Ella frown slightly. She said, "The temperature here must be over seventy degrees."

An Lan glanced at the temperature information on her armor: "To be precise, it's 73 degrees Celsius."

While this temperature isn't a problem for high-level awakened individuals like Lu Ning, an ordinary person would probably die from the heat very quickly here.

The shoes made a rustling sound as they stepped on the ground.

An Lan glanced at the ground and noticed that in addition to sand, there was also a grayish-white powder in the desert.

An Lan took out her instrument and tested the powder's composition.

He then frowned and said, "It's bone powder."

Everyone was taken aback, looking at the boundless desert with some astonishment.

The desert is full of sand and grayish-white powder.

If it's all bone meal, how much bone would be needed?

Where did these bones come from?

The group continued deeper into the area, and before they had gone far, they could vaguely see humans walking in the distance.

The group exchanged glances, and Lu Ning strode towards the human.

Upon closer inspection, it was discovered that they were not normal human beings at all.

Instead, it was a walking corpse.

This corpse is somewhat similar to the one that Lu Ning and the others encountered in the Yellow Springs Space.

However, the skeleton of the corpse was exposed, and it seemed that grayish-white bone powder was scattered as the body walked.

Sensing Lu Ning and the others approaching, the corpse turned its head and looked over. The next moment, its bones began to writhe and twist.

One bone spike after another shot towards Lu Ning and the others.

The bone spikes whistled through the air at incredible speed, likely far more powerful than a sniper rifle.

However, it was still too weak for Lu Ning and the others.

A wisp of golden flame silently ignited from the corpse.

The next moment, the corpse was vaporized on the spot, and the surrounding temperature rose a few degrees.

It is the flame of Osiris.

As for the bone spikes that were shot out, Lu Ning casually caught them and crushed them.

Aishalin's expression was indifferent. With a wave of her hand, a wisp of wind swept by, icy cold.

She said, "It's too hot."

Osiris shrugged, somewhat helplessly.

That's all he can do; what can he possibly do?

Looking in the direction of the zombie, Yann said thoughtfully, "It's about the third tier, so its strength isn't that great."

An Lan and the others nodded slightly.

For monsters in the mist, Tier 3 is considered relatively weak.

The group continued deeper into the area.

As they ventured deeper into the desert, they encountered more and more zombies.

All the zombies possess the ability to manipulate their skeletons and shoot bone spikes.

Most of these zombies are at the third rank, with a few reaching the fourth rank.

I haven't seen any fifth-order ones.

However, many of these zombies were gathered together.

The largest clusters number in the hundreds.

Although the horde of zombies was instantly frozen by Aishalin, it still made Anlan frown.

"Although these zombies aren't very strong, there are quite a few of them. We've probably encountered tens of thousands of them before. If these monsters break out of the mist, it will be quite dangerous for a small base city."

Lu Ning nodded slightly.

He experienced the beast tide.

An Lan had previously captured a zombie for research. This zombie's defensive capabilities were quite strong, comparable to those of awakened and mutated individuals of the same level who had enhanced physical bodies.
