Lu Ning stepped onto the altar and landed in front of the crystal.
The crystal is about half a meter tall and floats in the air.
Lu Ning thought for a moment, then reached out and placed his hand on the crystal.
Instantly, a dim yellow light shimmered within the crystal and merged into Lu Ning's body.
It was a powerful force of death, containing divinity.
Lu Ning's flesh and blood immediately rotted.
However, his flesh and blood were soon regenerated.
The scene before Lu Ning's eyes changed.
In a daze, he seemed to be standing on top of a towering black building.
The building is located in the heart of an oasis, beyond which lies a yellowish desert.
However, this desert seemed somewhat different from the Bone Sand Desert shrouded in mist; there was no white bone powder in the yellow sand blown by the wind.
Lu Ning looked down at the area below the building.
The plants on the oasis showed no signs of fusion with flesh and blood; they were normal, pure plants.
There is also a small town where the building is located. The town's buildings are also made of black rock, and their style is completely different from the buildings on Earth. Some of them are similar to the type of furniture seen in the stone house.
Amidst the swirling yellow sand, people bustled about on the town's streets.
These people wore yellow cloaks, revealing somewhat dry skin covered with fine scales.
Occasionally, people would look up at the building where Lu Ning stood, their eyes filled with admiration.
These people's faces are not like those of humans; they have no noses or lips, their mouths are like a line, and their eyes are yellow vertical pupils.
This illusion lasted only a few breaths.
The illusion then shattered, and Lu Ning found himself still standing on the altar.
He pondered the visions he had experienced earlier.
Is this what this oasis looked like before?
There used to be cities here, inhabited by intelligent creatures.
Unfortunately, it ended up like this.
Just then, Ya'en's voice rang out: "Lu Ning? Are you alright?"
Lu Ning snapped out of his thoughts.
He looked back and saw that Yann and the others were looking at Lu Ning with some worry in their eyes.
"I'm fine, what's wrong?"
An Lan breathed a sigh of relief and said, "You stayed there for almost twenty seconds, and your flesh and blood kept cycling between decay and rebirth."
Yaen's expression was somewhat serious: "I don't know what happened to that crystal, it suddenly shattered, and the deathly power it emitted made me feel a little scared."
