The group entered the room and found two headless giant monsters made of flesh and blood.
The monster was over five meters tall and its mental fluctuations had reached the ninth level.
However, compared to Lu Ning and the others, they were still too weak. They were easily frozen by Aishalin and then taken away by An Lan.
However, apart from the two flesh-and-blood giant monsters, the room was empty and there was no passageway.
Jerry looked around, somewhat confused, and asked, "Lu Ning, have we gone the wrong way? There's no passage leading down here."
The others were also looking at Lu Ning.
Lu Ning shook his head and said, "I feel like this is the place."
An Lan asked thoughtfully, "Is there some kind of secret passage?"
Ya'en's eyes lit up, and he said, "Let's split up and search for any secret passages. Be careful, don't fall for any traps."
Everyone nodded and split up to search.
They would occasionally tap on the skull walls and occasionally stomp on the skull floor.
Steve's eyes lit up quickly, and he exclaimed, "It seems to be hollow here!"
As the group walked over, they saw Steve's legs turn to metal, and he stomped on the floor, creating a series of echoes.
An Lan looked thoughtfully at the bandaged skull floor and asked, "The passage is down here? How do we open it?"
With a blank expression, Lu Ning suddenly walked over, squatted down, and peeled away the gray bandages on one of the skull fragments on the floor.
After the bandages were removed, a crescent-shaped pattern was visible on the skull.
Upon seeing the pattern, An Lan, Ya En, and the others' expressions changed slightly, and they all frowned.
Aisalind couldn't help but ask, "Is this the symbol of the Moon Goddess Cult? Isn't this the location of the Returned Souls Guild's altar? Why would there be a Moon Goddess Cult symbol here?"
An Lan said thoughtfully, "Perhaps the Returning Departures are connected to the Moon Goddess Cult?"
Upon hearing this, everyone frowned slightly, their expressions becoming somewhat grave.
Based on their understanding, there is indeed some cooperation among certain cults.
Therefore, while they felt uneasy about the potential cooperation between the Church of the Dead and the Church of the Moon, they were not overly surprised.
Lu Ning didn't think much of it. He condensed a ball of dim yellow light in his hand and placed it on the crescent moon pattern.
The floor seemed to shake slightly.
Everyone quickly retreated.
Then, the skull on the floor flipped and moved, and a staircase appeared in the center of the room.
Lu Ning remained calm as she walked down the stairs.
The others followed.
The area beneath the stairs is also a maze.
However, having learned from previous experience, this time everyone simply followed Lu Ning without saying a word.
Compared to the first level of the maze, this maze is much more dangerous.
Besides the occasional emergence of corpse worms from the skull's eye sockets, spraying corrosive corpse fluid, skeletal warriors made of fused skulls would even rush out from the passage walls to attack them.
These skeletal warriors were all at the ninth rank, and their attacks were unexpected, but they were not a problem for Lu Ning and the others.
Soon, they found the room below the second level of the maze.
There were also headless warriors formed from corpse parts inside the room.
This time there were four headless warriors, slightly stronger than the two upstairs, but still only at the ninth rank.
Easily frozen by Aishalin.
As before, they saw the crescent-shaped pattern again on the floor in the center of the room.
After Lu Ning's death power touched the patterns, the downward staircase reappeared.
The third level is also a maze, and in addition to the skeletal warriors, there are even headless warriors wandering in the corridors.
When they reached the exit of the third level of the maze, An Lan said with some relief, "Luckily, Lu Ning was in our team this time, otherwise we would probably all be in great danger."
Everyone was taken aback. Osiris glanced at An Lan and asked, "Why do you say that? Although this maze is quite dangerous, it shouldn't be this dangerous, right?"
An Lan shook her head and said, "You should have felt it too, right? The death aura emanating from this pyramid is getting stronger and stronger, and it has now reached the sixth level."
Everyone was taken aback for a moment, then nodded in agreement.
Jerry asked, somewhat puzzled, "This level of death aura doesn't pose a danger to us, does it? Elder An, aren't you underestimating us?"
Su Qi, who was standing nearby, seemed to realize something, and his expression changed drastically: "This is a maze."
An Lan glanced at Su Qi and said, "That's right, this is a maze. If Lu Ning hadn't found the exit so easily, it would probably have taken us several days to get through these three levels of the maze."
"Unless we choose to destroy the floor directly and violently go down, the risks of that are also huge. After all, we don't know if violent destruction will cause the pyramid to change. Perhaps the three saints, Yann, don't need to worry, but we would probably be in big trouble."
"Do you think you can maintain your mental strength to resist the aura of death for several days at a time?"
Everyone's faces were extremely grim.
As An Lan said, using mental energy to resist the aura of death without sleep for several days would be enough to exhaust a ninth-level awakened person.
Even saints like Yann became serious.
Although the saint wouldn't be completely exhausted, the consumption of energy would still be considerable.
An Lan exclaimed, "We've only spent a little over four hours navigating the three layers of the maze, and that's all thanks to Lu Ning!"
Yann and the others nodded in agreement.
Steve couldn't help but say, "We really owe a lot to Lu Ning, otherwise we would probably be in big trouble."
Faced with the grateful looks from the crowd, Lu Ning shook his head and calmly said, "Let's continue."
