Aisalind shook her head: "We took a quick stroll along the main road this time and didn't find anything unusual. How are things for you guys?"
Yann's expression turned serious as he said, "We seemed to see some figures in the ruins, but when we got there, they disappeared."
Aishalin and the others were taken aback.
An Lan asked with some confusion, "What figures? What are their characteristics?"
Yaen shook his head and said, "I didn't see it. Jerry and Ella saw it. I didn't even sense any presence."
Anlan looked at Jerry and Ella.
Ella calmly said, "When I was scouting ahead, I saw two semi-transparent figures. They looked like..."
Ella pondered for a moment, then frowned and said, "Looks like an ordinary citizen? There are no signs of mental fluctuations on him."
An Lan frowned: "Not even a trace of mental fluctuation?"
Ella shook her head.
Normally, as long as someone is an awakened being, even if they are weak, they will have mental fluctuations overflowing.
It's clearly unreasonable that he showed no signs of emotional fluctuation at all.
Unless the aura of those two figures has reached a level that Ella can no longer perceive.
Aila is a ninth-level Awakened, and as an Awakened with the ability to eliminate presence, her ability to perceive aura far surpasses that of others at the same level.
Even saints would find it difficult to escape her perception.
Otherwise, back in the Pale Lands, Ayra wouldn't have been able to perceive the strength of the Moon Goddess Cult members with just a glance.
According to Aila, the two figures were undetectable, so there were only two possibilities: one was an ordinary person, and the other was a demigod.
The latter is clearly impossible.
They really are demigods, and there are two of them at that. Not to mention Arn and his group, even An Lan and the others are probably already dead.
Then he can only be an ordinary person.
Of course, there is another possibility.
An Lan said thoughtfully, "Could it be a projection?"
"Projection?" Yann and the others seemed to be thinking.
Jerry said, "But Elder An, even if it's a projection, there will still be mental fluctuations."
They had encountered Awakened Projection before, and even Projection should have had mental fluctuations.
An Lan said, "The projection I'm referring to isn't a normal mental projection, but a special kind of spatial projection. It's like the kind of projection Lu Ning saw through the Death Crystal in the Mist No. 233."
He said thoughtfully, "It was the projection in the Death Crystal that Lu Ning saw that inspired me. Lu Ning saw something happening from a distant time and space, and perhaps what you see is the same."
Jerry was somewhat surprised: "But back then, Lu Ning was able to see events happening from distant space and time through the Death Crystal, right? We searched before but didn't find anything that could serve as a medium."
An Lan glanced at the sky and said meaningfully, "...It's not necessarily true that there is no carrier."
The expressions on Yann and the others changed slightly.
Osiris spoke up: "An Lan, you mean the hourglass that Lu Ning saw?"
A silver light flashed in An Lan's eyes before she spoke: "The flow of time in the ruins is abnormal. This is essentially due to a problem with the time laws of that area. Perhaps what you saw at the time was a projection of someone who was in that location at another time."
The group looked at each other in bewilderment.
They hadn't really considered this possibility.
Seeing that Ya'en and the others were thinking, An Lan asked, "What kind of behavior does the projection exhibit? Is there any danger?"
Ya'en and the others snapped out of their daze.
Jerry shook his head and said, "I didn't find any danger. Unlike Ella, I saw the figure in another area. I also didn't sense any mental fluctuations. However, the figure only appeared for a moment and then disappeared quickly."
Osiris said, "Neither I nor Yann sensed it on those two occasions."
An Lan nodded, then said, "There's no danger at the moment. If you see it next time, you and Osiris can try to get closer and see if you can communicate with it."
Yaen nodded slightly: "Mm."
After a brief exchange of clues, Lu Ning helped Ya En and his group absorb the mental pollution.
The two teams then split up again to explore.
This time, Lu Ning and his group entered the ruins once again.
The team conducted their exploration of the ruins very carefully and cautiously.
They became even more vigilant after hearing Yann and the others say they encountered figures in the ruins.
After all, no one can guarantee that those figures are harmless.
After several hours in the fog, Lu Ning suddenly noticed something and looked up to his left.
In this direction was a wall that had collapsed halfway, and a pale figure was half-exposed inside, staring straight at him.
She was a girl who looked quite young; her face was pale, and her eyes were filled with terror.
It was as if Lu Ning was a terrifying monster.
Lu Ning and the girl looked at each other, then Lu Ning silently walked over.
Just as Lu Ning had taken a few steps, the girl suddenly appeared with strange bronze patterns on her body, as if the television signal had been interrupted.
After the patterns flickered twice, the girl's figure disappeared.
Lu Ning remained silent for a moment, then continued walking towards the broken wall.
He peered into the wall at the spot where the girl had been standing.
The spot was empty except for piles of rubble, some as high as a person.
Lu Ning looked at the rubble, lost in thought.
He then squatted down and cleared away the rubble.
