When everyone realized the seriousness of the problem, Steve couldn't help but ask, "Old Ann, what do we do now?"
An Lan thought for a moment, then shook her head: "That's how the time laws are here. I don't have a good solution. I'm afraid the only way to return to normal is to leave the ruins area."
Thinking of this, An Lan paused for a moment, then continued, "Perhaps we can try to cover our entire bodies with our abilities and see if we can isolate ourselves from the erosion of time."
The group could only try to cover their entire bodies with their abilities.
However, time erodes silently, and they are unsure whether it will be effective in the short term; they can only wait for time to prove it.
Fortunately, the rate of erosion by time is not too fast, so it won't increase or decrease lifespan too much all at once.
Once they realize something is wrong, they can evacuate in time, but lives altered by time can never be recovered.
After discovering the effects of time on the ruins, the group sped up their exploration and quickly searched the surrounding area.
…………
After five days of exploring the ruins, ten days had passed in the outside world, and the two teams reunited three more times.
Unfortunately, they didn't find many valuable clues.
Fortunately, having mental energy covering the entire body can slow down the erosion of time to some extent.
In just a few days, Steve has aged forty years.
An Lan, however, did not use her mental power to stop it, and instead became nearly a hundred years younger.
This made An Lan very happy.
As for the others, they did not seem to be affected by the erosion of time, and their physical bodies remained unchanged.
As they ventured deeper into the ruins, Lu Ning's team explored their surroundings in an abandoned rubble area.
Just then, a sound came from the other side of the mountain of rubble.
Everyone was taken aback, and then they all looked in that direction.
The group exchanged glances, and Lu Ning calmly said, "I'll go take a look first."
The others nodded, and Aisha Lin's mental energy circulated within her, ready to provide support at any time.
With a few leaps, Lu Ning quickly reached the top of the rubble pile.
He stood on the mountaintop and looked down, and soon spotted a figure.
He was an old man with a thin build and white hair and beard.
The old man was draped in tattered black cloth, revealing his emaciated body beneath.
At that moment, the old man lay prostrate on the ground, struggling to get up.
After getting up, he slowly walked to the left.
Lu Ning looked in the direction the old man was pointing. To the left was a pile of rubble and ruins, which formed small hills.
Besides that, there seems to be nothing else.
Compared to the direction the old man was heading, Lu Ning was more curious about the old man himself.
Because Lu Ning could sense the old man's mental fluctuations.
Not an illusion?
Lu Ning looked thoughtfully at the old man's back, and the next moment, he was about to step forward.
Just then, Lu Ning paused.
The space around the old man walking on the road distorted and changed, and the old man completely disappeared the next moment.
Lu Ning frowned.
Why do they still disappear even though they are clearly experiencing emotional fluctuations?
However... the way this old man disappeared seems to be different from the other phantoms.
Lu Ning took a deep look in the direction where the old man disappeared, and then returned to the foot of the rocky hill.
Upon seeing Lu Ning return, An Lan, who was waiting, asked, "Lu Ning, what's the situation over there?"
Lu Ning recounted what he had just discovered, and An Lan and the others stared wide-eyed.
"What?! There's a mental fluctuation? Could it be a real, awakened being?"
An Lan frowned in thought, then asked, "Could they be cult members?"
Lu Ning thought for a moment and said, "I don't know. I didn't see any strong mental pollution in his body. There was a little, but not much."
The spiritual pollution caused by cult members is generally quite serious.
At this point, Lu Ning paused, then continued, "I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I feel that person's mental fluctuations are somewhat similar to Ling Chuan's."
Everyone was taken aback upon hearing this.
Aisalind frowned and said, "Didn't you say it was an old man?"
Then, something occurred to Aishalin, and a flicker of emotion appeared in her cool eyes.
A look of unease crossed Steve's face: "Could it be the power of time?"
Lu Ning said, "I'm not sure if it's Ling Chuan. I originally planned to go up and talk to him, but unfortunately he disappeared."
The group exchanged bewildered glances, their hearts filled with surprise and worry.
If it really is Ling Chuan, it means that the time erosion here is probably stronger than they imagined.
Keep in mind that Ling Chuan is a ninth-tier Awakener, and only about a month has passed since he was swallowed by the spatial rift.
It's already quite frightening that it turned out like that in just one month.
Most importantly, as a ninth-tier awakened being, Ling Chuan couldn't possibly be unaware of the changes in his body.
The erosion of time should stop as long as he is willing to leave the ruins.
But Ling Chuan allowed his body to remain in the ruins, even as it was in this state.
They couldn't understand the reason behind this.
Su Qi frowned, then asked, "So what do we do now?"
Lu Ning thought for a moment and said, "Let's continue exploring. I feel that the old man should still be in the ruins."
Aisha Lin and the others had already witnessed Lu Ning's feelings.
They glanced at Lu Ning but did not refute him.
"Then let's look again."
The team continued their search.
Just as Lu Ning and his group had crossed the two rocky mountains, they heard noises again.
The group exchanged glances, and then Lu Ning transformed into a blur, instantly running towards the direction from which the commotion had come.
