Lu Ning strode towards the ruins of the collapsed high-rise building. Tentacles extended from his back, piercing into the ruins and flinging away the rubble.
Before long, the pile of buildings, which looked like a small mountain, was cleared away, revealing the figure of the bronze-masked man lying on the ground.
He clutched his abdomen and groaned in pain.
Lu Ning glanced at him, and tentacles shot out from his body, severing his limbs.
A cracking sound of bones breaking rang out, and the bronze-masked man screamed in agony.
Lu Ning ignored the bronze-masked man's reaction, looked into his eyes, and uttered in a corrupt tone: "Charm!"
The heavily injured bronze-masked man was in poor mental condition, and his mental defenses were extremely weak.
In addition, although Lu Ning's three soul weapons did not improve his mental strength, they did have a significant effect on suppressing the bronze-masked man.
In just a moment, Lu Ning had bewitched the bronze-masked man.
The masked man's eyes glazed over for a moment, then his gaze toward Lu Ning became more fanatical.
His limbs were broken, yet he crawled on the ground like an insect, trying to kneel before Lu Ning: "Great Lord..."
Lu Ning calmly said, "Stop. What sect do you belong to?"
Without hesitation, the masked man spoke: "Great Lord, I come from your most loyal sect, the Eternal Corridor... We have found your..."
He was speaking when he suddenly stopped abruptly.
Subsequently, Lu Ning clearly felt a powerful force of time erupting from his body.
Then, the masked man's exposed skin dried up with each breath, his flesh seemed to disappear with the passage of time, and he looked as if he had aged hundreds of years.
When Lu Ning looked at the masked man's eyes again, his own eyes had become cloudy and dull.
Then, the masked man collapsed to the ground, and his mental fluctuations dissipated.
He died of old age.
Lu Ning frowned.
This feat must be attributed to the ability of that time-disordered insect.
Is He watching over this place?
Lu Ning scanned his surroundings but did not sense any divinity other than that of Ya'en.
If they were truly paying attention to this place, they would probably take action against them.
Since no action was taken, this is probably some kind of instinctive defense mechanism.
Lu Ning glanced at the corpse on the ground with some regret.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get any information out of them.
All that is known is that this masked man is indeed from a cult, a cult that believes in the Eternal Corridor of the Time-Disordered Worm.
The situation was urgent, so Lu Ning stopped thinking and looked at Jerry not far away.
Jerry's injuries were quite serious; he had only managed to hold on by sheer willpower.
Now that his pursuers were gone, he collapsed to the ground, pale-faced and drenched in sweat.
Lu Ning walked over quickly and squatted down in front of Jerry.
He then took out a healing potion from his spatial bracelet.
Lu Ning himself naturally doesn't need the treatment.
This was given to Lu Ning by An Lan earlier.
After all, if Lu Ning doesn't die, he can provide immediate assistance should a teammate be seriously injured.
Lu Ning poured the medicine onto the hole in Jerry's right chest.
The cavity was about the size of a hand, and the lung lobes inside were probably completely torn apart.
In other words, high-level awakened individuals possess extremely powerful physical bodies, with bodily functions far superior to those of ordinary people.
Otherwise, with injuries like that, Jerry would have died long ago.
Even so, Jerry is still heading towards death.
After the treatment took effect, Jerry's chest wound began to throb and heal little by little.
However, Jerry had been injured for too long and lost too much blood. In addition, the wound was too large, and even if he wanted to heal, it would not be something that could be treated with just one bottle of medicine.
Jerry's complexion improved slightly thanks to the treatment.
A trickle of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth, then he smiled and said, "Sorry, Lu Ning, I was just wondering if you were an imposter."
Lu Ning calmly replied, "I understand."
Jerry coughed, his eyes gradually dimming, and said, "About the dream plague... I'm very sorry, Lu Ning... If I hadn't been treated as the pathogen, your friends wouldn't have died..."
Lu Ning paused for a moment, then shook his head: "It's not your fault, it's Bai Jingming's problem."
Jerry grinned. "That's what I say, but I still feel uneasy... So many people died that time... I might not save that many people in my entire life... My conscience won't let me get over it."
Lu Ning said calmly, "You'd better rest now."
Jerry chuckled. "I don't know what's wrong with my body... I've been holding on, but now I'm completely exhausted."
Before Lu Ning could say anything more, a tremendous roar came from the sky, followed by Osiris's furious roar.
Lu Ning looked up at the sky and saw Osiris's right hand, bleeding profusely, break off and fall from the sky.
His body was engulfed in blazing, deep red flames, and his eyes were bloodshot, as if they too were burning with fire.
Not only that, flame patterns have appeared on his skin, as if his whole body is about to turn into flames.
Lu Ning saw a thick white mist on his body.
Lu Ning could see that Osiris had already used two high-risk soul artifacts.
The prolonged battle and extreme pressure brought Osiris to the brink of illness.
Jerry coughed repeatedly, then said, "Go help them, Lu Ning. Saints are the pillars of humanity; they can't be sacrificed like this. Go help them..."
Lu Ning glanced at Jerry and nodded slightly.
He then transformed and rushed towards the direction where Osiris was in the distance.
When he reached the foot of Osiris, he shouted at Osiris, "Come down!"
