They have joined forces with the base city members in the timeline where the mist descended, and are fighting together against the monstrous beasts emerging from the mist and the constantly appearing infected.
Some of these patients originally came from the fog, while others developed the disease from ordinary people under the influence of the fog's spiritual pollution.
