Chapter 82 The Vanished Team Members

Upon entering the main gate, one finds the familiar hall once again.

There was no one in the hall at the moment; the air was stuffy and somewhat dim.

Perhaps due to the fog, visibility was lower than usual.

The group cautiously stepped inside.

Everyone checked their phones and found that there was no signal at all, so contacting the officers in the station was obviously not a practical option.

After discussing it, Liu Qiang, Lin Xiao, and Tai Long decided to proceed slowly, layer by layer, for safety reasons.

However, just after they all entered the hall, the entire space suddenly distorted.

The next moment, Lu Ning discovered that many people in the hall had disappeared, leaving only three other people besides himself.

These three people included Qiu Yuelin and two other free awakeners.

At this moment, Qiu Yuelin and the two free awakeners looked around in horror.

Upon seeing that Lu Ning was still there, Qiu Yuelin rushed over, exclaiming in alarm, "Brother Lu Ning, what happened? Why is everyone else gone?"

Lu Ning glanced around and shook his head slightly: "I don't know."

The other two awakened free spirits also came to their senses and moved closer to Lu Ning.

One of the elderly men, with gray hair, spoke up: "Commander Lu Ning, you are the strongest here. We will follow your orders. What should we do next?"

Another pretty woman, Wang Yan, nodded repeatedly: "I agree with Mr. Qi. Commander Lu Ning, you will take charge of us."

Lu Ning did not refuse, but looked towards the second-floor platform.

He drew his two guns and calmly said, "A diseased person has arrived."

As soon as he finished speaking, a series of hurried footsteps sounded from the second-floor platform, growing ever closer.

Soon, from the corridor deep inside the platform, one after another, hideous and twisted monsters rushed out.

These monsters seemed to be formed from the fusion of several humans, and some of them still had remnants of silver-white protective suits on their bodies.

Clearly, these people were originally guards at headquarters.

By this time, these guards were already diseased, and there were quite a few of them.

More than a dozen infected individuals leaped down from the second-floor platform and rushed towards Lu Ning and his companions.

The silver-haired old man Qi Wu's expression changed, and he pressed his hands firmly on the ground, causing earthen walls to appear.

Awakened ability: Earth element control.

As the earthen wall emerged, it slightly blocked the path of the patient.

Some of the patients crashed directly into the earthen wall, making a loud noise. The earthen wall shook violently and even developed cracks.

Some of the infected individuals bypassed the earthen wall and continued to surround them.

Just then, Lu Ning fired a series of shots.

The gunshots, like cannon fire, echoed continuously throughout the hall from "Red Roses and White Roses."

With each gunshot, a patient with the disease was struck in the head.

Most of the patients' skulls were smashed open, and their bodies fell to the ground, sliding for a while due to inertia before coming to a stop.

Two other infected individuals had not had their heads shattered by bullets; although they had minor head wounds, they were not fatal.

Such powerful defensive capabilities clearly exceed the third tier.

These two patients were also larger and faster than the others.

Upon being attacked, they immediately raised their arms to shield their heads.

On their arms, the flesh twisted and turned, and eyes actually grew out.

Those eyes moved, then stared intently at Lu Ning.

Lu Ning glanced at the eyes and then fired two more shots at the two infected individuals.

Unfortunately, both patients had a large number of arms, which were all blocking vital parts of their bodies.

Lu Ning's attack did not cause much damage.

Lu Ning unleashed a barrage of bullets on the other infected individuals, killing them one by one.

Just when only four infected individuals remained, the two fourth-tier infected individuals had already approached Lu Ning.

They extended their arms, which were protecting vital points, and reached out to grab Lu Ning at the same time. The force they used was extremely strong, and it even made a whistling sound.

However, just as they were about to catch Lu Ning, Lu Ning stomped his foot on the ground and his figure instantly disappeared from the spot.

Behind one of the patients, a white light suddenly appeared, accompanied by a sound like thunder.

The patient was struck as if by lightning; his massive body, over three meters tall, was sent flying backward like a cannonball.

In mid-air, his bones cracked and spewed blood.

Before the remaining fourth-order disease patients could react, Lu Ning had already disappeared from the spot again and appeared in front of them.

The two heads on the body and neck of the fourth-level lesion showed astonishment, and all the eyes on its body were staring at Lu Ning.

Lu Ning clenched his right fist, and a dazzling white light flashed on his fist, like the sun.

The next moment, his fist struck the fourth-level lesion patient.

boom!

A white wave of energy surged above Lu Ning's right fist.

The fourth-order mutated being let out a strange roar, and multiple arms reached out to grab Lu Ning's fist, trying to block Lu Ning's attack.

However, the bones of these arms broke the moment they touched Lu Ning's fist.

Lu Ning's fist was unstoppable, landing heavily on the chest of the fourth-level disease patient.

A violent surge of power erupted, causing the fourth-tier mutated patient's chest to collapse, sending him flying backward while coughing up blood repeatedly.

The patient with the fourth stage of the disease flew more than ten meters before falling to the ground.

His body trembled slightly, and he used his three still-intact arms to support himself on the ground, struggling to get up.

However, Lu Ning stomped hard on the infected person, knocking him to the ground again.
