☆38. Chapter 38: Training Begins

Chapter 38 The training begins

Wu Linglong really did what she said. For a whole week, when Wu Qingcheng didn't report to her, she didn't even step out of Beijing University.

Looking at the storage watch on her wrist, Ling Ran felt a warm feeling in her chest. This was the watch Mo Wen left for her. Then she walked to Wu Linglong's bed helplessly and looked down at the girl who was still lying in bed.

"Xiaoran, let me sleep a little longer."

"Just a little while!"

Wu Linglong opened her eyes dazedly, and tried hard to force out what she thought was the most sincere smile, with her index finger and thumb indicating a tiny distance apart.

"Everything is packed."

"Even Wu Yanyan and Gu Qingman are gone."

"How long are you going to delay?"

Ling Ran was not so easy to deal with. He immediately lifted up Wu Linglong's quilt. Wu Linglong hurriedly pulled down her pajamas with the cartoon image of Lazy Sheep from Ancient China to cover her fleshy belly that was accidentally exposed. She puckered her lips and looked at Ling Ran with a wronged look on her face.

"Don't act pathetic."

"We'll leave in half an hour."

"Put on your winter clothes."

Ling Ran glanced at his watch again and said seriously.

"Well, my last half hour of peace is gone."

"I won't be able to sleep in from now on."

"And this winter coat is so ugly. I don't know whose aesthetic taste is this."

“You have to absorb your own carbon dioxide.”

Seeing that there was no way out, Wu Linglong began to move slowly. However, when she looked at the winter clothes distributed by the school, she could not help but complain.

In fact, Ling Ran felt it was okay. It was grayish white in color overall, similar to a space suit, but not as bulky. Although the hot feeling made her uncomfortable, there was nothing she could do about it.

After all, outside of the mysterious circle, everyone has to assume the worst.

Capital University can no longer afford major changes.

"Now I'm kind of envious of you."

Wu Linglong muttered to herself as she followed Ling Ran to the playground with sleepy eyes.

They were both wearing the same chemical protective suit, but Wu Linglong's originally cute face had become a burden, appearing round and plump. Then looking at Ling Ran, it turned out that when one's looks reached a certain level, one could handle everything.

“Everyone has something that others can envy.”

"You just haven't realized it yet."

The corners of Ling Ran's mouth rose slightly, and he thought of Mo Wen again.

And Mo Wen is the thing that others envy the most, and it belongs only to her.

"I really can't understand you any more."

Wu Linglong looked at Ling Ran deeply and murmured.

Ever since the accident between Grandma and Mo Wen, Ling Ran seemed to have become much more unfathomable. Wu Linglong could feel it. Although Ling Ran was still the same Ling Ran as before, he seemed so far away even though he was clearly standing in front of her.

“Here I come.”

Ling Ran smiled and did not explain, and she called this transformation growth.

The planes that carried the third-year students out for training arrived. There were three armed transport planes, and each plane was followed by four psychics sent from the psychic branch of the Shenzhou continent.

Ling Ran did not see the special operations team, but when he thought about it, it made sense that their duties were not just trivial matters.

"Last time I said I would take you to the ancient Chinese capital of Shu during the holidays, but I didn't expect that this training would take place there."

"You have to follow me closely this time."

Boarding had already begun. Wu Linglong came up to Ling Ran and patted her chest and said.

This was not the first time that Ling Ran had been outside the circle. She and Mo Wen had met outside the circle. However, this was her first time to go to such a faraway place in a serious manner. She couldn't help but feel excited and yearning.

"Okay, you have to protect me well then."

Facing Wu Linglong, an experienced veteran, Ling Ran playfully stuck out his tongue, making everyone around him drunk. When they came to their senses, they backed away.

Because they were not the same class going out for training, there were already quite a few strangers sitting there when Ling Ran and the other person lined up.

By the time Ling Ran and Wu Linglong had chosen their location, a vacuum zone had formed near them.

Everyone knows that Ling Ran killed Wang Xiaoming, and everyone also knows that Wu Linglong is arrogant and unreasonable.

Looking at this scene, only Wu Yanyan, who followed in, smiled with relief.

This doesn't affect anything. Ling Ran is naturally cold and aloof, so Wu Linglong only needs Ling Ran.

With the roar of the engine, the armed transport plane soared into the sky. Ling Ran and Wu Linglong whispered to each other while looking at the scenery outside through the small window.

Because of its fast speed, it broke out of the protective shield in a short while.

Ling Ran looked in the direction of the small mountain village. He wondered if Mo Wen would be able to recover as before when he returned after this separation.

What if Mo Wen wakes up during this period and can't find her?

Ling Ran was daydreaming.

In ancient China, the Shenzhou continent was very large, with a vast territory and rich resources. However, after the merger of the plates, the Shenzhou continent is only about a quarter of its original size, and all the areas south of the Yellow River have become outside the circle.

Ling Ran loves history, so when he set foot on this land, the yearnings hidden in the deepest part of his heart surged out.

"Xiao Ran, look quickly."

The transport plane was descending in altitude. Wu Linglong excitedly grabbed Ling Ran's wrist and pointed downwards.

It doesn’t matter if you don’t look at it, but once you look at it, Ling Ran can’t stand it.

The endless city connected to the horizon, most of it was frozen, but a small part had been cleared out and the presence of human habitation could be sensed from a long distance away.

The flag of the Shenzhou continent is hung high in the center of the square.

What a majestic city, what a familiar feeling.

Back then, Ling Ran's parents were doing this kind of out-of-circle activities, exploring cities that had been buried for thousands of years, turning them into areas where they could move around, and exploring their potential value.

Until they were attacked by a group of strange beasts.

"This is the ancient Chinese capital of Shu, the holy land for immortal cultivators back then."

Wu Linglong explained hurriedly.

"Um."

Ling Ran nodded in response, as if Mo Wen was from here.

"Our mission should be to explore unexplored areas."

"Maybe I can find the legendary secret manual of cultivation."

Wu Linglong's eyes were filled with longing. Although most objects had been damaged, there were still many that had been preserved. What if they were really found like in the novel?

"Maybe we can find Mo Wen's former home."

Ling Ran couldn't help but think, and his impulse became stronger.

It landed quickly, and the students organized by the distribution of superpowers walked out of the cabin in an orderly manner.

The person in charge of the ancient Shu area outside the circle also led his men to wait here early.

The handover between the two parties had nothing to do with Ling Ran. She only controlled Wu Linglong to stand here obediently and listen to the boring speech, lest this girl disappear in a flash.

As many students were drowsy, the leaders of both sides finally walked down the stage with a look of reluctance.
